Prayers with TLC and Fish Ball Soup

RJ woke up this morning with a lower grade fever than what he had been having. I took him to see his doctor and he was told to stay home the rest of the week and let his body fight the viral infection he has. He was not sad to hear that he could not got back to school until Monday. He's looking forward to lots of cuddle time with mom. Thankfully, today has been a mild fever day and he was hungry enough to eat his favorite, Fish Ball Soup. The soup along with a lot of love and all the prayers are helping him to get better. Yesterday was scary and I am so thankful that today he is on his way to being back to himself. God is good.

Monday, January 30, 2017

The world is going a little bit crazy, but it has not been a part of my focus over the past 24 hours. Last night RJ wanted to go to bed early and we discovered that he had a rather high fever. We prayed for him and gave him some medicine. He did not have a restful night of sleep. By this morning his fever hit 104 degrees. I did my best to cool him down and was going to take him to the doctor and then his fever dropped and he fell asleep. I did call his doctor and they want him to come in. Then I found out that he was not the only one sick from his class today. Apparently something is going around. We plan to play it safe and will take him in for a check up tomorrow. His fever now is very low grade, so we are hoping and praying it will break soon. I don't like seeing my little boy sick. Pearl has been a great nurse to him and has been tending to him with great care. She really is a good dog. He does not like being sick but he does like missing school, what kid doesn't. He's not enjoying his days out, he's too sick to do so. Please keep him in your prayers. God is good.

What About Your Soul

We had a guest speaker today, one of my favorites, Bro. Smith. He pastors in NY and every once in a while he will preach for Bethel. His sermon reminded of an old time style preaching. He preached with the title of "What About Your Soul?". His main text was from Mark 8:36-37. One soul is worth more than all on this planet. It's worth more than anything on this planet. Everything could have your name on it and it's worth combined would not match the worth of one soul. Our days are filled with life and we forget that every day is a day of grace. How much is the soul of your neighbor or you family worth to you? We are in the last days and God is coming very soon. A soul lives for an eternity. If a soul is lost it is lost for an eternity. How much is a soul worth to you? A soul was worth dying on a cross for Jesus. The church is not meant to be a social club or place to be entertained. The church is mean to be a place where lost souls are welcomed. The church needs to be in the business of reaching the lost. When the stars and planets are no more, the soul still lives on, the soul will be forever young. What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul. A soul is the spiritual part of all human beings. It is something looking to being fulfilled and to find happiness. The Bible gives the missing link to what the soul is searching for. All souls belong to God because he created them. There is a way to fill the hole in the soul. There are two destinations for a soul. One is Heaven and one is Hell. This world has become so politically correct that it will not talk about Hell. Hell is real. Heaven is real. The spiritual world is just as real as the physical world. Physical things fade away. Spiritual things never grow old. What you invest in the spiritual will live on for ever and ever. Eternity has not begging and no ending. Eternity is endless time after someone dies. There is a thin wall that separates you from eternity. What have you done to prepare yourself for this world? Everyone has an appointed time, what will you do to prepare for that day? Your spiritual condition is more important than you physical condition. You must be born again of the water and of the spirit. You must be baptized in his name and filled with his spirit by evidence of speaking in other tounges. What about your soul? Jesus is coming soon, are you ready? Is your soul ready? The alter was packed. In the time we live in, we need to hear this now more than ever. Eternal things matter so much more than the things on this earth. I want to be ready when he comes. Even so, come Lord Jesus, come soon. God is good.

Today Could Be The Day

We ended our 20 days of prayer and fasting by coming together for communion and prayer. Bishop Davis spoke very briefly and reminded us to keep Jesus in our day. We need to be God conscious as we go throughout our day. When we wake up declare that today could be the day of our Lord's return. He will come for those who are looking for him. As Bishop Davis was talking, I was thinking about how more and more I am convinced we are in the last days. I truly believe that Jesus is coming soon! God is good.

Hamster Fun and Thanks

Last week, a hamster by the name of Hunk, joined our family. I remember having hamsters growing up and they were a lot of fun. It has been a delight to watch RJ interact with him. Pearl is not so fond of him because she doesn't like not having all of RJ's attention. Hunk, however, seems to really enjoy his high sea adventures on RJ's many toy boats. We as parents are glad to see him playing and using his imagination. Tomorrow will be the last day of our combined prayer and fasting. Our church will be coming together for a time of prayer and communion. I have to say this year started out with a jolt for me. We are thankful that Mom (Dreama) will be able to go back home soon. Her recovery has been nothing short of a miracle and we all know it's because of the many people who have prayed for her. God is good.

Happy Are The Pure In Heart

Tonight our speaker was one of my favorites. Bro. Ferragamo always gives the "meat and potatoes" of the word. He continued with his Be Attitudes he has been teaching. Tonight's title was, "Happy Are The Pure In Heart". His main text was taken from Mathew 6:21, 12:34. This is the essence of the difference between a true Christian and the lukewarm Christian. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. You can look the part on the outside, but not be clean on the inside. Just looking the part is not enough, you need to be Holy on the inside. Walking with God makes you act, look and dress holy. It's so important to make sure you ask God to cleanse your heart. The heart is the seed of your emotions that effects you mind and will. It is the center of your being and personality. It is what makes you, you. The heart is also the seed of our troubles. What comes out of the mouth comes from the heart. The problem of the heart of man is sin. All the troubles of man arise from the heart. We need to walk in the spirit. Many do what they feel is right in their own eyes, when what we really need to try to do is what is right in God's eyes. It's important to ask God daily to search our hearts and remove any wickedness from it. The only way to see God is with a pure heart. When your eyes are filled with the light, light will shine out. When your eye is filled with darkness, darkness will come out from you. We need a pure heart. God is pure and holy. Without God, we can not be holy and we can not be pure. We can not do it without him. We must measure ourselves by his word and not by one another. We all have faults and need the mercy of God in our life. He can give us clean hands and a pure heart. It's so important that you live for God every day. If you only live for him when you attend church, God will not accept your sacrifice that you bring to him. If the words are only from your lips and not your heart, he will not accept what you offer him. We must come to him with pure motives and repentance in our heart. When we do this, he forgives us and gives us a clean heart. You can not serve the world and serve God at the same time. You must choose one. If you have hatred towards your brother it's the same as murdering him in your heart. It's so important to ask God to take that out of you and give you a clean heart. How you react to your situations determines what your heart is full of. If it is full of Jesus, he helps you to react with peace, love and forgiveness. No one is perfect, we all fall and that is when his mercy comes to pick us up. He loves us so much that he makes us worthy. Only God can forgive you and give you a clean heart. We need to keep our heart pure from sexual sins. Stay away from things or people that cause you to be tempted to sin against God. Financial purity is also important. Money is ok as long as you do not serve it. Where your treasure is, that is where you heart will be. The love of money is a sin. Money is ok, as long as it doesn't mean more to you than God. Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God. We must pray daily and ask God to give us clean hands and a pure heart. God is good.

A Boy And His Dog

Today I glanced over at RJ to be greeted with one of those priceless moments. RJ and his dog, Pearl, were cuddled up together. She looked like she was smiling and he was relaxed. I remember having dogs growing up and they were my best friends. She is loyal and a fierce defender of her boy. There is something wonderful about a boy and his dog. God is good.

Let It Rain

It has been raining for almost two days. There has been some flooding, thankfully none in my area. The wind has blown strong, but our lights have not gone out. I was thinking about this. Life will bring some strong winds and if we are not careful, we can allow it to blow out our light. The rain can drown us to the point that we don't know which way is up. We can look at this rain and wind in a spiritual sense as well. The raining of God's presence in our life and the wind of his spirit blowing through us. I need the rain of God and his spirit in my life. He is my rock and my fortress, in him I place my trust. God is good.

Manifold Plus More

This past Sunday, we attended service at Solid Rock UPC in NJ. A long time friend of ours was the guest speaker, Bro. McLean. He preached a dynamic sermon on "Manifold + More". His main text was taken from, I Corinthians 2:9,John 14:1-3,Epheisans 3:20 and Luke 18:29-30. Nothing turns God's head more than faith. God gives us a lot more than what we ask for. He gives above and beyond what we can ask or think. He has great things in store for us. God has been preparing a place for you, a place with many mansions. These are things to come. While he is doing this, he has an abundance of more for you in this life on earth. God loves to bless his children. He loves you so much that he wants to blow your mind with what he has for you. It's just a matter of the right time. He will do a new thing in you. A new heart, mind and spirit. Great is the faithfulness of God. We will still go through trials, God will make a way through these trials. He will produce rivers in the desert. He wants you to reach to a new level than you have ever reached before. God has exceeding and above all you could ever ask or think. We must believe and do our part and watch what God will do in our lives. God is good.

Birthday Visit

We spent the weekend with our mom's in NJ. It was a quick one, but time with them is always precious. Church today at Solid Rock was amazing. The presence of God was very strong from the beginning of the service. Bro. McLean preached an outstanding sermon that I plan to share tomorrow. We said our goodbyes and headed to a celebrate a dear friend, Mrs Kadish's, birthday. She was delighted to have our company and we had a nice time. God is good.

Wild Turkey

We have enjoyed a quick weekend in NJ. Tonight, Joe and Jen cooked a feast. The main course was a wild turkey that Joe had caught. It was interesting to try it and we enjoyed the time together. I'm thankful these moments are shared with my mom. I'm also thankful that mom (Dreama) is improving at a rapid pace. Nothing is impossible for God. God is good.

President Trump

Today Donald Trump was sworn into office as the 45th President Of The United States of America. I'm thankful for the democratic process of our country. As a Christian, it was nice to see him start this new term off with much prayer. I don't know what the next four years will bring. I do know that my life is in God's hands and that I will pray for our elected President and all those in office. God is good.

What Will You Do With Jesus

Tonight Bro. Tom Vayna taught a Bible study lesson with the question, "What Will You Do With Jesus". He first started out discussing the traditions of Christmas and compared and contrast some of them with what the Bible teaches. He then shared several different occasions of responses that people had when they met Jesus. His main text was from I Corinthians 11:1-2 and II Thessalonians 2:15. The first group was Peter, Andrew, James and John. When Jesus came their way, he told them to follow him. They responded by leaving everything and following him. Their lives were never the same. Nicodemus was a Pharisee. He was around and a part of many of the things Jesus did, but never seemed to commit totally to being a follower of Christ. He was connected but not committed. The Rich Young Ruler, made the wrong choice, by choosing to not give God everything. The Shepherds in the field followed the star, worshiped Jesus and left changed. The Three Wise men had an encounter with Jesus and but did not indicate if they were changed by it. The thief on the cross pleaded for mercy and received eternal life. What will you do when you have an encounter with Jesus? He wants to be your all in all. God is good.

Pearl and Grampy

Today is Grampy and Pearl's birthday. We miss Grampy very much and wish he was still here for us to celebrate with. I like to think he sent us a little gift from heaven by the name of Pearl. Our tiny little puppy has grown into a playful and happy dog. She's bigger than what we expected, but we are thankful to have her in our home. Tonight, we sang Happy Birthday to her and RJ showered her with lots of doggy bones and treats. She seemed to "get" what was going one and enjoyed herself. Happy Birthday in Heaven Grampy and Happy Birthday to our sweet Pearl. God is good. On a side note, I'm so thankful to report that mom (Dreama) has been moved from the ICU and is now in a regular hospital room. She is on her way to recovery and we are so thankful for this.

Great News

It has been a nice 3 day weekend with my boy. I have enjoyed our time together. Never, fear I made sure he knows who this weekend was about. MLK Jr was a very important man in our nations history. I want to share with you the wonderful news we received about Mom (Dreama). She is doing so much better. She has not had any Vasospasms for 4 days and it looks like she will be able to leave the ICU soon and be moved to a regular hospital room to began her recovery. We are so thankful for God's hand on her life. She still needs your prayers for healing. She is getting better on a faster track than what the doctors gave us, I believe it's because of the prayers of many. I appreciate your prayers and I still believe this is the year of miracles. God is good.

How We Respond To Our Challenge

Today Pastor Davis delivered a sermon for 2017. His main text was taken from I Samuel 17:2-4,8-11. His title was "How We Respond To Our Challenge". The story of David and Goliath is a very popular story. Many who do not attend church, know the story about David slaying Goliath. Goliath was a Philistine Giant. Some say he was around 12ft tall. He challenged Saul's army to send someone to fight him. Saul and the Israelite army were too afraid to accept his challenge. David was a young boy, some say around the age of 16. He came along and said he would fight Goliath. He had no military background or training. With a singles stone and slingshot, he brought down the giant. What seems impossible not only becomes possible but simple in the hands of God. There will be times of challenge that will come into our life. Our destiny is determined by the choices that are made when we are faced with these challenges. It's in these moments that define who we are today. We are approaching a special time. There will many challenges ahead for the church. The hour is going to be a difficult one. More and more Christians are being persecuted all around the world. We must not be afraid to stand up and declare that we are a child of God. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken. If you relationship with God is based upon the blessings you get, you will not last. You need to know him and love him. Is there not a cause or a reason? Challenging times for God's people are coming. This can be your best moment or your worst moment. You can be a light in the evening time. The darkest hour is just before the dawn. Darkness is not a powerful force, it can not extinguish one candle flame. Your flame of light is the spirit of God within you. This light is more powerful than all the forces of hell. Nothing can blow your light out. When light comes, darkness has to flee. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is the world. You can go from a zero to a hero. Stir up the spirit of God that is within you. Stand up for what is right. Stand up for what the word of God says to be true. Challenging times are coming. It is up to you how you will respond. Will you hide and be afraid? Will you stand on God's word even if you are the only one standing? Be a light wherever you go. Commit to obey God's word and live a holy life for him on a daily basis. Make living for God a lifestyle, not a one day a week thing. The people who know their God will do great exploits. You are not a nobody, you are an overcomer for Christ. It's time to stand out and stop trying to fit in. You are different, embrace the difference. We will see miracles and things we have never seen before. When the trials come, do not be discouraged, know that victory will come because God is on your side. God is good.

Pearl's Song

During the day I like to play various types of music. There is one song in particular that when it comes on, Pearl starts to run around the house and bark. When RJ is home, he will jump around the house with her. She goes wild. From the beginning of the song, she knows what song it is and boom, she takes off like a rocket. I happen to like this song too and sometimes have to take a praise break, maybe that's why she likes it too. If you would like to hear the song called "War", you can click here. Since I like to pick a song for the year, I shall make this the song for 2017. God is good.

Fasting and Good News

While I was in California, our church started their 20 days of prayer and fasting. The fast this year is different and you can view it here. As in past years, we are taking a break from social media as entertainment. It's a time to focus on the things of God. Listening to music with a God focus is recommended. The fasting this year offers several choices. Be sure to check with your doctor to make sure the fast you want to follow is medically appropriate for you. It's not wise to follow a fast that can make you sick. As I was writing my blog, I received good news about mom (Dreama) she has made huge improvements! She was able to step to the left and step to the right. She is talking and laughing. I am so thankful to hear this! Please continue to hold her up in your prayers. God is good.

Home Tears

I arrived safely to NY last night. I was greeted with much hugs and love from my boy and Bob. My sweet puppy, Pearl was pretty wild with excitement when she saw me. I was so thankful my mom could be here to help out while I was in California with my other mom (Dreama). It was a heartbreaking and exhausting week. Time spent with family, was priceless and it didn't matter that most of it was spent in the hospital cafeteria or via texting in mom's hospital room in order to let her rest. I didn't cry much when I was there, but today I let it all out. Mom (Dreama) has always been the strong one, so seeing her like this was very hard to take. Each day is a miracle and I believe she will recover and go home . She has a long road ahead of her and the family would appreciate your prayers. I believe that God can restore her body in an instant. God's ways are not our ways, so if he doesn't, I still trust him. Her pain has been great and you would hear her call out the name of Jesus. He was there and is still there when she called. I'm sad I can not be there to help, so I will help how I know and that is on my knees in prayer. In the middle of all this, my cousin Amalia started another round of chemo. You don't know what tomorrow will bring. It's good to be home. Part of my heart is still in California in a hospital room with my mom (Dreama). She is a fighter and wants to get better. If she had her way, she would have walked out of the hospital a long time ago, her body is just not ready for that yet. The next few weeks are critical for her. Every day is a gift from God, don't take it for granted. God is good.

Updates Soon

I apologize for not blogging much this week. I will be headed back home to NY tomorrow. Once home, I will be able to update on the current situation. Please continue to pray for Mom (Dreama), she really needs it. God is able and he is good.

Pain Covered With Love

I was given the gift of time with my best friend Reva this morning. After our breakfast, I went to the hospital to be with Mom. Today was a very rough day for Mom (Dreama). Her pain was non-stop and rest was alluding her. It's heartbreaking to see her like this. The doctor has instructed for no visitors and she must have rest. We are stil in a very critical time for her, so we ask for continued prayer. God is able and I believe he will heal her body. A special gift was delivered to her today. It was a box filled with love and you could feel it pour out all over here when she opened the box. Sis Aokie made her a favorite treat and it was a bright ray of sunshine on a very rough day for her. By the time I left her pain was more on the managed side and she was finally sleeping. Later this evening I had the joy of visit my cousin Amalia. It was so wonderful to see her and even though it was short, I was so glad to see her. Now I'm spending time with my niece. She's making us laugh. God is good in all things.

Standing Up

We had a huge step today. Dreama (Mom) was able to stand. Everyone was so happy. She gets tired quickly and too much stimulation brings horrendous pain to her head. The next 4 days are critical and she needs all the rest she can get. So many people love her and want to see her. Please keep her in your prayers that she continues to improve and she has no complications over the next few days. She already is making huge strides and we know God is doing a healing process in her. God is good.

Wednesday, January 04, 2017

She had a rough night last night due to the pain in her head. Thankfully, she slept well today. She has chemical minigitis in her neck, but it's being treated. The doctors told us today that 40% of people in her situation die and that he was so glad she was alive to say her head hurt. The next five days are crucial and we appreciate and need your prayers. It's been wonderful being with family. The outpouring of love for her from people all over the world has been deeply moving. She was talking today and able to eat. Every step is a miracle and we thank you for your prayers. Mom(Dreama) is a special lady and I know God is healing her. God is good.

Hospital Time

I arrived late Monday night and spent the night in the hospital with mom and family. She had a 2 brain aneurysm caused by a stroke. Due to bleeding on the brain she had 6 coils inserted to stop bleeding from taking place. I'm thankful I Can be here with her. Her left side has some numbness, but she is able to move everything and that is wonderful. She had a lot of testing done and her head really hurts. It was so wonderful this afternoon when she woke up and realized who I was. She gave me a big hug and a kiss. We are thankful that she recognizes everyone and was able to eat today. She is making good improvements and still needs a lot of prayer. We have been taking turns sitting with her and are trying our best to keep it calm and quiet so she can rest. I know God is with her and have faith she's going to pull through this. God is good.

Draw Out Now

We started our New Year off in church. It was nice to be back in church. We had a guest speaker, Bro. Tim Greene. He has been to Bethel before and moves as the spirit of God guides him. He preached from John 2:8 with the title of, "Draw Out Now". I have to say, that his sermon was on point and I had no idea how much I was going to need it until the phone rang earlier today. I will share why at the end of this blog. People today believe in the prophetic. A true Prophet will operate under the operation of the Holy Spirit. How it happens for us, depends on the proper response to the prophetic word given. When Jonah gave a word of prophecy to the people of Nineveh, the heard and responded in a way that changed the course of what was going to happen. How you respond impacts everything. If your heart is hard, it will not be received and will not come to pass. If the cares of life distract you, you will hear it and then give up on it. If the ground is fertile, it will be received and come to pass. In order for it to happen, there must be prayer, obedience and sacrifice. Every time God did a miracle there was a servant involved. Elijah went forth and in a drought he drenched his offering unto the Lord. He was putting in motion his faith, knowing God would move. He had the proper response to the prophetic. He is able to heal our sicknesses and take care of our situations. How we respond determines how much he is able to move. When Jesus was at a wedding and the wine ran out, his mother came to him. She knew who he was and what he could do. He told her that it was not time yet for him to start performing miracles. She reached into the future and pulled it into the present. She told the servants to do as he instructed, stating that she was not going to wait. She knew the miracle had to happen now. Jesus had the servants fill the water jugs. They filled them to the brim. When they took the water to the governor, it had turned into wine. The future moved into the present. Depending on how you react when the word is given will determine what your results will be. In 2017 we will have some bad times and we will have some good times. If we will obey the voice of the Lord and believe, great things will come to pass. We will have the miraculous and the good times will be greater than the bad times. All of this was going through my mind when my sister Tara called me. I thought she was calling with news on my cousin Amalia and in an instant my world was spinning. My adopted mom was being rushed to the hospital. We learned that she has had a stroke or brain aneurism and has extensive bleeding on the brain. As I type, she is undergoing preparations for a brain operation to remove the blood that is in her head. I got on my knees before the Lord. I know God is a healer, I know he is with her. I believe she will come through this and she will be more than ok. I believe she will suffer not ill affects. I believe she will walk and talk and be able to do as she did before. I have no doubt, I will not doubt. I trust. I am reaching into the future and pulling her being 100% into the present. I am believing that she is going to walk out of the hospital and the doctors will know that there is power in the name of Jesus! God is good all the time!
