Blessing Others

Tonight as I was ticking RJ into bed he made a comment that you can only pray for God to give people what they need. I explained to him that we can ask God to bless others. We can be specific and give details, but that it's good to pray for good things for other people. He liked this idea and fell asleep on that thought. God is good.

BBQ Love

Tonight we had a BBQ for our Home Bible Study Group. The food was great and the fellowship was wonderful. I love being around the family of God. One of families stopped by a Chinese bakery and brought the cutest and best tasting desert. I love cake from the Chinese bakery. I can't forget the beautiful roses brought by sweet Fotine. It was a wonderful evening. God is good.

Last Week

This is the last week of summer break for RJ. Ross started his new semester today. It's been a busy summer and we are all looking forward to a routine again, maybe not RJ, but that's ok. RJ is excited to see his classmates and is thrilled with the teacher he will have. Bob and I are happy too, since this means he will have another teacher from his old school. We know this will be a great school year. This week will be setting school sleep routine and finishing prep for school. Goodbye summer break, it was a good one. God is good.

The Moment For Your Miracle

I was so happy today in church when my Chinese friend came today. She is wanting to know more about Jesus and she really enjoyed the service. It was a typical Apostolic shouting, dancing in the aisle service and she really liked it. She was also very moved by the presence of God that she could feel around her. Please keep her in your prayers. Also, Mom is feeling so much better. Today we had a guest speaker. Bro. Johnson is the UPCI Youth Secretary and he always preaches awesome sermons. He is about as real as it gets and he was very real today. He preached from John 5:1-9 and John 14:13-14 with the title of "The Moment For Your Miracle". He also used these scriptures throughout his sermon; Mathew 21:22,John 15:7, Mark 11:24 and Mark 16:17. He named many things that were from the year 1978, which was 38 years ago. A lot has changed since then. He then talked about how the man by the pool waiting for the water to be stirred had been waiting for 38 years for a miracle. When Jesus came by, the answer was right there and he was so focused on the waiting for the water to stir, he didn't realize the answer was right in front of him. When Jesus comes along, things get so much better. We are surrounded by people who are waiting for a miracle to come their way. They are looking for answers. That answer is living inside of you. You don't need to stand in the middle of the room and shout about Jesus, just live your life for him. Let his light shine through you, live it. Bro. Johnson then began to ask if anyone needed a miracle. He said that God was ready to give the answer and that today was the moment for our miracle. He is asking you if you will be made whole. It's not a question to be answered with excuses, it's a yes or no answer. If you have the faith to believe it, God will answer you. It does not matter how long you have been waiting, God hears you and has not forgotten you. He shared a story about his twin brother. When they were 6 years old, his brother had toxic shock syndrome. The doctors gave him 24 hours to live. His mom and dad went to the Lord in prayer believing that God was going to heal their son. The next morning when they came to see their son, the doctors couldn't believe what has happened. God had healed the boy. The news media reported the even because he should have died. His time to die has not come. It doesn't matter how bad the situation is or how sick you are, God has a miracle for you. Call out to him, he will answer. God is good.

Ocean and Whimpers

Today, Bob, RJ, Ross, Joe Joe and Grammy went for a ride on the Ferry. Later in the evening they went to Ocean City.I have enjoyed the pictures as they have been sent to me. I showed them to Pearl and she started to whimper and cry. She misses her boy. RJ is growing up so quickly and I'm glad he has a dog as devoted to him as his Pearl. I'm also thankful for a husband who spends quality time with his son. God is good.

Pearl Day

This weekend it's just Mom and I with the dogs. Bob is away with RJ and Ross for a boys weekend. Mom felt super good today and I'm thankful for it. Apparently today is National Dog Day, so I dedicate my blog to our Pearl. She came into our lives when our hearts were broken due to the loss of our dog Mozart. She's full of life and totally devoted to RJ. Mom has a dog too, his name is Wally. He's on the older side and puts up with Pearl's hyper moments. I love our Pearl and am glad she's a part of our family. God is good.

Our Family

Tonight Bro. Ralph Ausanio taught a lesson with the title of, "Our Family". His main text was taken from Ephesians 3:1-15. He was very passionate about his lesson and at the end was in tears. He wanted to express the importance we have as being a family. We are not just members or a church, we are the family of God. We are all created by God, but must be "born" into the family of God. He calls us his sons and daughters. We are born into the family when we repent of our sins, are baptized in his name and filled with his spirit. We are the body of Christ. We are a part of something that is eternal. The love we have one for another ties us together as this family. The love if Christ within us, helps us to be bonded together. We are to look out for one another and take care of each other. Even if in the natural we may or may not have children, we are a spiritual mother or father to those around us. We are an example and must live a life unto to Christ in order to be a good example to be followed. If someone wants to be like us, we need to make sure we are something good. Bro. Ralph then shared a song that was very moving. It's a warning to all of us. Myself as a parent it hits home. We must not be so busy that we miss out on taking time for our children and in the spiritual sense for our brothers and sisters in Christ. We must make time. God is Good.
The song he shared is called "Cats In The Cradle", by Harry Chappin. Here are the words: My child arrived just the other day He came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch and bills to pay He learned to walk while I was away And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew He'd say "I'm gonna be like you, Dad You know I'm gonna be like you" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home, Dad I don't know when, but we'll get together then You know we'll have a good time then My son turned ten just the other day He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's play Can you teach me to throw", I said "Not today I got a lot to do", he said, "That's ok" And he walked away but his smile never dimmed And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah You know I'm gonna be like him" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home, Dad I don't know when, but we'll get together then You know we'll have a good time then Well, he came from college just the other day So much like a man I just had to say "Son, I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while" He shook his head and said with a smile "What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys See you later, can I have them please" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home son I don't know when, but we'll get together then, Dad You know we'll have a good time then I've long since retired, my son's moved away I called him up just the other day I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind" He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time You see my new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad It's been sure nice talking to you" And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me He'd grown up just like me My boy was just like me And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon When you comin' home son I don't know when, but we'll get together then, Dad We're gonna have a good time then

Follow Peace

This past weekend when we had our Ladies Conference at church, Sis. Davis spoke to us and then it was followed by a panel of speakers. I have an abundance of notes and I will share with you some of what Sis. Davis spoke on. She covered a lot of things that is so important to hear. She started by reading from Hebrews 12:14,Romans 12:1,Ephesians 4:23 and I Peter 1:15. She went in depth to talk about how we present ourselves in our conversation and lifestyle. When we offer a sacrifice to the Lord is must cost us something. It we are not really giving something up, it's really not a sacrifice. It's so important that we read the Bible and pray on a daily bases. This helps to guide us in our conversation and way of life. It's important that we live this life 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, not just on Sunday. There are areas that we need to make sure we keep under subjection to the Lord. Our Behavior and habits impact all around us. Our speech can get us into trouble. Gossiping hurts many and can cause great harm. We must speak things that edify others and lifts up the name of Jesus. The way we look and dress is so important. We are to stand out from this world and dress like a women if you are a women and a man if you are a man. Modesty is so important and how you dress gives an impression on who you are. The world teaches that sexy is beautiful. Look to God's word on what He thinks is beautiful. These are all things that need to be sought out by prayer and reading God's word as guidance. Seek his face and he will give you direction. God is good.

Unexpected Bump

Today as my mom and I were heading to the car after buying groceries, we had a sudden surprise. The car we were walking directly behind started to back out. The driver didn't see us and kept on going. I found myself frantically banging on her back car window as she pressed me into the grocery cart. Thankfully the cart was there to keep me up. The driver realized what was going on and stopped. I grabbed my mom and the cart and moved as quickly as I could to get away. The driver looking stunned and took off before I could say anything. I was pretty shook up and later on very sore. I was glad it was me and not my mom that she backed into, but not happy about the pain I was starting to feel. I decided to go get a massage and see if that would help. I found a new place near my home and decided to give it a try. Much to my delight the lady giving the massage was from China. Ten minutes into the massage she learned that I was a Christian. She became very excited and said she has been wanting to know about my Jesus. I was able to share with her how much he loved her and she was able to use her Chinese massage techniques to take the pain away. I left with my body feeling whole again and she was left with a joy in her heart. She is planning on coming to church with me on Sunday. If I had not had an unexpected bump, I would not have been looking for a massage. She had been asking "my God" to send someone to tell her where to go. God is good.

One Day At A Time

If you have been reading my blog, you know that my mom has come to live with us since her stroke. She is doing much better since she arrived and we give thanks for that. God has blessed her with some very good doctors and each visit comes with answers and sometimes, more questions. We know that God is in control and we trust in him. Some days for her health wise are better than the other. We are taking it a day at a time. I ask that you continue to keep her in your prayers. God is good.

A Kingdom Revelation

This weekend Bro and Sis Shock has been such a blessing. They took us deep into the word of God and deep into his presence. Today the worship was awesome and God was moving before Bro. Shock went up to preach. His title was, "A Kingdom Revelation", and his main text was from Mathew 6:33 and John 18:36. We need to have a First Kingdom revelation, not second or third, but first. It must be thy Kingdom come, first over everything else. When we seek his Kingdom first, God will take care of the rest. When Jesus stood in front of Pilot, he was not going to get a fair trial. Pilot was going to do what the people wanted him to do. In this present day, we must be sure that the choices that we make are Jesus centered and not based on what those around us think we should do. The Kingdom of God is where mankind submits to his will and rule. We are all Kingdom minded, it just a question on who is in charge of the Kingdom. We must make sure that it is Jesus on the throne, not us or anyone else. You must be born of the water and the spirit to be born into his Kingdom. The Bible is his living word, we can study it to our benefit or ignore it to our hurt. A day without prayer and the word is a wasted day. Eternal gains are important, start your day with Jesus first. Bro. Shock then spoke about Samuel and how the people wanted a man to have rule over them. Even though they knew what would happen to them, they made the choice. God will allow you to make a choice, to have him as King or man as King. We can look toward being normal as how the world defines normal to be. What we need to do is be like what Jesus wants us to be, even if it's not popular in our day and age. God's Kingdom is for everlasting to everlasting. America is a democracy and as Americans, we can tend to forget that God is not American. There is not a meeting in Heaven where angels are told to deal with each country according to how their culture is. God is beyond that. Christianity should supersede culture. We need to go to the word of God on how we treat others. If you are in Christ, you are a new creature, all things are passed away and all things become new. God is God. He is not our co-pilot. He has no other power or being with him, He is God alone. We don't always understand God's ways. We all have had things happen in our life where we look at him and wonder what he is doing and why is he doing it. Death of a loved one way before their expected time or things in life just falling apart no matter how hard you tried to do things right. You start to wonder where God was during these times. He was right there, the entire time. We don't understand why he does things or allows things, but he is God. Isiah 55:8-9 tells us that his thoughts are not our thoughts and his ways are not our ways. A Kingdom revelation is that God is not fair, he is right. He has not made a mistake, God is right. When we accept his will and way even when we do not understand, then God is able to move in a mighty way in our life. Our life is like a puzzle. Some of the puzzle pieces just don't seem to fit and they may never fit into the picture our life is making. We may never understand, it's time to let those things go. We need to make the Bible as the final authority in our life. Seek his Kingdom first and let go of the things just do not make sense. We can stand at that spot of disappointment and hurt or we can leave it with Jesus and trust him. Don't stand in the pain, put your hand in the hands of God and keep moving forward. God is good.

Cone For Pearl

Today we heard some straight talk from Sis Davis and very good guidance from a panel which was followed by a ladies luncheon. I plan to share this in detail this coming week. While we were enjoying fellowship, Pearl was being spayed. When we picked her up, I felt so sad for her. RJ's reaction when he saw his puppy was so sweet. He truly loves his dog and today showed the connection they have with one another. God is good.

I don't know how to write about tonight. It's amazing how you can go to a million services and hear a million sermons and lessons and then there is that one. The one that impacts you in such a strong way that you are filled with so much peace from God that it's almost like you are numb. That's how I am right now. Sis. Melani Shock spoke with us again tonight. She was witty, funny and she took us deep into Christ and his word. I took notes and I can only hope that somehow what took place can transpire into your heart as well. In the beginning she showed some silly pictures of sheep, it was something you had to be there to experience and it was hilarious. Then she talked about praying for God to give her a scripture for each of her children. She put this scripture where they could see it on a daily bases and memorize it and apply it to their life. I want to follow this example and do it for my son as well. She then talked about giving her children to God and trusting him with them. When she first started talking, there were the words, "I Have Hope" on the wall. I think that was her original title, but she spoke deeply on the Hebrew word Tiqvah and that is why I gave my blog that title. She talked about Psalm 119 and then shared about the health difficulties her son had most of his life. She read some scriptures and Jeremiah 29:11 stood out the most to me. God has a hope and future for us. She read from Job 6:8,Psalm 9:18 and Psalm 62:5. All of them having a reference to a word when translated back to Hebrew is Tiqvah. This word means expectation and to long for. It's the Anthem of Israel. This word is also found in Joshua chapter 2. This is the story of Rahab. The two Israelite spies were hidden by her and she was told if she hung a red cord from her window that she and who she had in her home would be saved. She did as they told her. She knew that she was going to be giving up what was familiar to her. She hung out her rope even though she was questioned about it. She did not give up hope that she would be saved. The word Tiqvah is much more than hope. It has layers and layers to it. It can not be generalized, it's so much deeper than that. In our present day, when we say we hope about something, it's with the fear that they might be broken or dashed. When we come to God with Tiqvah in our prayers it can not be about personal advancement. We must come that even if what we are expecting does not happen that we still trust in God. We pray believing that even when we are dead and gone, that God will hear our prayer. When we pray prayers that go beyond us. Death is a part of life, it's not a reward or a punishment. We have to come to a point where we say it does not matter what you do to me, I will still trust you. It's time to start praying eternal prayers and go beyond the temporal prayers that we have been praying. Tiqvah!! He will hear and his promises will come to pass. Because Rahab was willing to lose everything, she was saved. It didn't stop there for her. She married one of the Hebrew spies and became in the direct linage of King David. She lives on. Sometimes when we pray eternal prayers, we see the opposite happening, remember no Tiqvah prayer is ever returned void. God is in control of it all. You have hope and your prayers do not die. It's time to change our thinking and the way we pray. God is able and capable and he will take care of it. Take your hands off of your situation, family and circumstances and let him take care of it. She gave us red cords made of yarn. I was crying so hard. So many things and I was reminded that I needed to let go and know that God hears. He is going to take care of it all. I'm going to hang my red cord in my window. I don't want to forget this night. I don't want to forget that I have Tiqvah, I have hope in Christ. God hears every prayer, he is in control. God is good.

Are You Hungry?

Tonight was the first night of our Ladies Conference here at Bethel. We have a guest speaker who I have to say went deep and allowed our hearts to be opened to God's revealing light. Sis. Melani Shock was sweet, funny and very anointed. She spoke about the importance of eating the book. The book, being The Bible, is something we need every day. This book will keep us in the days that are coming for Christians. The words will cover us and keep us. The living word is present to be our only hope, right now and for the future. She read from; Psalms 1:1-3 and Isiah 5:24. Her topic was "Are You Hungry? Eat The Word". Satan appeared two times in a form that humanity can see. The first time was in the Garden of Eden, when he appeared before Eve and spoke with her. When he spoke with her, he took God's spoken word and twisted it around. The second time was when Jesus was in the wilderness. He had just been baptized and was at the end of a 40 day fast. He was weak and hungry. If you have ever seen someone who has not eaten for 40 days you will know that they are too weak to go into deep prayer. Jesus was like this. When Satan came and spoke with Jesus he tried to tempt him three times. The first two times, Jesus replied with " It is written..". The third time the temptation was given, Satan used the words "It is written..", but he twisted the words and tried to trick Jesus. This time when Jesus replied it was with authority and told him that he shall not tempt the Lord thy God. He was making it clear who he was and that he had all power and he was not going to be tempted. The devil will try to do the same to you. He will take God's word and try to turn it around. Make sure you know what the Bible says. You need to be able to stand on truth when all types of doctrines come your way. We all have distractions thrown our way. These things are not necessary sent from the devil. When we have an illness it's a distraction. Things in life can derail us, those are distractions. We must keep our eyes on things eternal. Know his word, they will keep you in all things. Sis. Shock then shared a story of when Joshua Bell was in a subway system and he was playing his violin. Very few stopped to listen to him and many ignored him. They did not know who they were listening to. They did not know who he really was. A few days later this same young man played to a sold out crowd, the same music he had played for free in the subway. We can get so caught up on our daily life, that we can miss the real thing when it's staring us in the face. There can be tragedy in ignoring the obvious. Most people have a desire to know God's word, many are just too busy to read it. We can share the stories of the Bible, we know the scriptures, but is it an every day part of your life? All the answers to what you need in the word of God. She then brought up the word Logos. This is a concept with sound wrapped around it. God is the word, and when he speaks it into existence it never stops. His voice has no end. When he spoke the starts into existence, they are still being made to this day. The sound of his voice never dies. The voice of God that spoke the world into existence is still speaking into the earth and atmosphere today. When we are filled with his spirit, there is a sound. This sound is a different language. It is showing that his spirit is alive within you. This same voice that spoke the world into existence is now speaking inside of you. The eternal God is changing your mortal body from an empty vessel, to an eternal vessel. Our body will die, but our soul will live on in eternity. The word of God is alive. Every prayer that has every been prayed is still alive today and moving forward. When you speak the word of God, you are speaking life. The scriptures were written as God put the words into the ears of those that wrote them. The Bible is God's spoken word. When you are not sure how to pray, pray his word. You can never pray out of the will of God, when you pray directly from the Bible. His words stand true through all time. It is vital that we read/devour his words every day. We must start our day with reading the word of God. What we read first is what we filter our day with. If you start with an e-mail your day will be filtered through business. If you start your day with the word of God, it will guide you and keep you. She showed us a video clip of a tribe that had known God's word, but never read it in their own language. When the Bibles were brought to them, the people rejoiced that for the first time, they would read the word of God in their own language. They treasured God's word. We must be like this in our present day. We must love the word of God. If you would like to see the video she showed of the tribe receiving their Bibles you can watch it here. I am looking forward to the next two days and seeing what else God has for us. God is good.

New Street

For the past week there has been a lot of work being done on the road our street is  on. It was inconvenient at times, but the much needed paved road was finished today. I'm glad it was finished before winter arrives. I'm looking forward to this weekend. We have guest speakers and a I know it will be a time of feasting on spiritual things. God is good.

Summer Work

Today, the realization that school will soon be upon us came with a little panic. RJ has required reading/projects due on the first day of school. Until today, these projects have been a mere thought in the back of my mind. RJ is still feeling a little sick due to a summer cold. We decided to use this time to start reading one of the three required books. Thankfully, I purchased the required books at the beginning of summer. I guess it's a good thing we procrastinated, this way RJ will be back in school mode by the first day of school. God is good.

Grammy's New Rail

This past weekend Bob, Joe, Ross and DJ worked countless hours to put up a new rail for my Mother in law. She needed something that was stable and what better place to get it than from our own factory. We had it custom made out of steel, so I'm sure it will last for a long time. To ensure that it was put together correctly, we needed it to be welded together. My nephew DJ knows how to do this and worked very hard. He did an outstanding job welding the rail together. They all worked extremely hard and the results brought a sturdy and reliable rail for Grammy to hold on to. God is good.

Bride To Be

Today we celebrated my niece Taylor who is getting married soon. Everything was beautiful and she was surrounded by a lot of love. I was pretty excited to see her open our gift. She had mentioned to me a long time ago how much she  liked vaccume cleaners, so I knew that when she got married that would be her gift. She was so happy when she opened her present. It was nice to see her blooming with love and I know she will be a beautiful bride. God is good.

MP 2016

As I have said before, I'm not into sports, except when it comes to the Olympics. Tonight one of my favorites swam his last Olympic Race. Michael Phelps is a rare phenomenon and he has ended with a bang. 28 medals, with 23 of them being gold, makes him quite the athlete. I have no doubt he spent countless hours in training and prep to be how good he is today. It's a lesson to be learned, if you really want something, to be the best, you need more than 100% dedication to whatever your goal may be. God is good.

Looking For Stars

Tonight there is supposed to be a meteor shower. Bob took RJ to see if they could view a shooting star. RJ saw one. He wants to see a lot and hopes some day that will happen. He has not been feeling well today. I hope and pray that he's better in the morning. God is good.

What Goliath Didn't Know

Tonight the Bethel Youth Group led the service. They did a great job leading in worship. After they sang, a guest speaker preached an encouraging sermon. Bro. Hartzell preached from I Samuel 16 with the title of " What Goliath Didn't Know". I don't have my notes with me and he really did an outstanding job. I will do my best to share with you from memory what he preached. Goliath was taunting the Israelites and demanding for someone to come out and fight him. When David answered the call he only saw the outside, a boy. He didn't know who David was on the inside. He didn't know that David was a King in training. He didn't know that God had prepared David for this day. He didn't know that David who was a small Shephard boy, had with God's help, killed a lion and a bear. He didn't know that the prophet Samuel had already anointed David to be the future King. David refused the amor of King Saul because he knew that his dad had taught him to come in the name of the Lord and all he needs was a slingshot and God would do the rest. It does not matter who you are or what has happened in your life. If you feel like you have been forgotten, God has a fresh anointing for you. Do not become discouraged, you are a King in training. Before you can fight a Goliath, first you need to kill a lion and a bear. Every time you overcome temptation, you are killing a lion and a bear. Every time you pray, you are killing a lion and a bear. God has great things in store, you are a King in training. God is good.

Olympics 2016

Anyone who knows me can tell you I'm not that big into sports. However, I do pay attention to the Olympics. I'm amazed at how the athletes are able to push their mortal bodies to the extreme limits. I was impressed by two recent silver medalist who without fear claimed that their identity was not as an Olympic medalist, but their identity was in Christ. In this present day and age many try to hide the fact that they even attempt at a walk with God. Let our light shine brightly for Christ. God is good.

Time To Play

Today RJ and I enjoyed a Playdate with a friend. I'm glad he has friends that he has stayed close to since birth. Our kids are growing up quickly and I'm thankful for lazy summer days like today. God is good.

The End Of Your Faith

Yesterday, the day got away from me and I was not able to blog the Sunday sermon. Today I will do so. Pastor Davis preached a dynamic sermon with the title of, " The End Of Your Faith". His main text was taken from Hebrews 11:1-10 and I Peter 1:5-9. Hebrews is listed as the Hall of Fame for the mighty men of God. It has 17 examples of faith put into operation. They are people preserved in faith in spite of their problems and the things life that came against them. They experienced great suffering and great miracles. The church service on Sunday was a dynamic one. People were in the aisles worshiping God in the dance. Pastor referred to this as he was preaching. He said that a lot of people were giving God praise who were struggling with sickness and disease. Many have had a horrible week and were facing things that no one knows about. In spite of this, because of their faith in God, they worshiped and praised in faith believing that God is going to make a way. The cost of worship is grater than the sacrifice of the pain. Breaking alabaster boxes in the alter before the Lord through faith. Every day we get out of bed and we continue our faith walk with God. We live, walk and breath it. There is coming an end of our faith and that is a reward. God gave promises to the Heroes of Faith in Hebrews. Many of them saw miracles, some did not see the answer before they died. Yet, their answer lives on in us today. We are filled with God's spirit and we make them complete. They started in faith and we will end in faith. We read that Faith is. It's not rooted in the past, but is in the present going into the future. Jesus is the I AM. He is the resurrection and the life in your circumstances. God is not confined to time. We can place our trust in Jesus. No matter the political situation or what is going on in the world, we win with God on our side. Don't focus on the moment, focus on the things to come. Speak faith into your situation, believe that God will bring it to pass. You need to move forward with your faith. You must demonstrate your faith even when you do not see the promises coming to pass. Abraham and Sara were promised that they were going to have a child. They decided to help God out and we have paid the price ever since. God doesn't need our help, he wants your cooperation. God has a plan, get in touch with his will and cooperate with him. If we will fight on our knees in spiritual warfare through prayer, God will fight for us on this earth in the natural things. Angels are fighting for us. God is good.

Birthday Race

Today we attended a birthday party of one of RJ's friends. This was a unique one as it was at an indoor kart racetrack. RJ was a little scared to do it since he had to drive it by himself and race at the same time. He was not the fastest, but he was the safest. He said he liked it but it was scary and what was slow to everyone else was super fast for him. I'm proud of him for facing his fear and for giving it a try. Better yet, he went in for a second round and went a little faster than  before. God is good.

Kingdom Participation

We had a guest speaker for our Thursday night Bible study. Bro. Hagen preached with the title of "Kingdom Participation" from Luke 17:20-21. He first spoke about visiting Disney World. He noticed that all the employees were not only dressed for their roll, but were actively participating with much enthusiasm. They were in full participation of the Magic Kingdom. When you are partaking in the Kingdom of God it's with a shared vision and responsibility. These are the last days and it's time for all hands to be on deck. As we read in Luke, we see how Jesus responds to the Pharisees. The Kingdom of God doesn't come by observation for the Kingdom of God is within you. If you are trying to find the Kingdom of God you are missing out. They were looking for it and "it" was staring them in the face. Jesus is the Kingdome of God. When you are filled with the Holy Ghost and Baptized in his name, then the Kingdom of God is now within you. It must not be about what you see, it must go beyond observation. It must be a participation. When you are participation in the Kingdom of God you are sharing your story. The way you live your life and the joy of the Lord is an active participation in the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God empowers you to go through every season in life. This is a testimony to those around you. God sees where you are and has something specific in mind for you. God is good.

Time To Sleep

I ask my readers who look forward to my Thursday night lessons to hang in there until tomorrow's blog. We arrived home  from Virginia around 2am. The day started out with taking Ross to see the Doctor due to feeling dizzy. He has vertigo. Thankfully, he is now starting to feel better. It's been a long day and I'm super tired. We did have a great lesson tonight at church and I plan to share it tomorrow. For now, I say, goodnight. God is good.

Goodbye Mountains

Leaving the Appalachian Mountains is always hard for me. It's very calm, peaceful and beautiful.  The people are strong and are hanging in there, believing God is going to make a way.  We are praying and believing along with them. At home in NY, my mom and Ross are looking forward to our return. I heard Pearl was sad and wanted her boy to come home. It's time for life to go back to normal for us. I look forward to when we visit the mountains again. Maybe next time we can all go together. God is good.

Rainbow For Appalachia

For the most part of today we stayed inside because it was raining. When the rain lifted, we went on an hike and came back inside because the rain had returned. Later in the early evening, the sun broke through the clouds and we attended the county fair. This year they had bounce houses set up for the kids. RJ made a new friend and they bounced from one house to another. The clouds were rolling back in and breaking forth was a rainbow. Many of the people stopped and looked up. I overheard a man say that he hoped it was a sign from God that he was sending help for them. I believe it was and I know God will make a way. Tonight as we were preparing for bed we heard a sound that has been non-existent since we have been here and it was the sound of the coal train running through the Appalachian Mountains. God gave us a rainbow to remind us that he sees is where we are. He has not forgotten the people of the Appalachian Mountains. God is good.

Mountain Rain

Today we ventured out of the park we are staying at  and headed into town. We love this town and have made friends there during past visits. The town has been hit hard by the coal mines being shut down. Some of the stories we heard today were heart breaking. Please keep the Appalachian's in your prayers. They need a miracle in order to stay alive. All they have known for generations has been coal mining. They are praying people and I know God hears their cries. When we came back to the park, we went for a swim and soon after rushed for cover because the rain began to fall. I love a good mountain rainfall. I watched the rain as it fell and prayed that God would also open the windows of heaven and rain his blessings on the people here. God is good.
