With Mom

I arrived this afternoon in TN. Lisa and Kim were with my mom and keeping her company. It was so good to see my mom smiling. She is going to need physical therapy, I'm confident she will pull through this. I thank God she is alive and has her silly sense of humor still intact. I'm staying the night with her in the hospital. I don't know how long I will be here, but I will stay until I can bring her home with me to NY. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, they are making a difference. God is good.

Almost There

I have been driving most of the day and have stopped for the night. The latest I heard is that she is making jokes and eating. This is great news. An MRI today confirmed the stroke. I don't know much else as I have been driving all day. God willing I will be with my mom tomorrow. We appreciate all your prayers. God is good.

My Sweet Mom

Earlier this week, while on the phone with my mother, it seemed like she was having a stroke. I called for an ambulance to go to her house. The hospital for reasons I still do not understand sent her home. Today she became paralyzed on the left side of her body. A HUGE thank you to Kim for going to her house and calling 911. If not for her, I don't know if my mom would still be alive. The doctors have been doing extensive testing and at this present time have said it looks like a stroke in the sensory part of her brain. They will do more testing tomorrow. I am driving to TN in the morning and plan to stay with her until I can bring her safely here to NY for the best care possible. Presently her left side is paralyzed. Hopefully we will have a better understanding tomorrow. For now, I thank God she is awake, alive and able to talk. Lisa is with her and I will join her soon. I love my mom and it's heartbreaking to know she is going through this. I know a lot of people have been praying. The peace of God is with us. To all who have reached out and expressed their concern, I thank you. Please pray for God to give the doctors wisdom and that my mother will have a full recovery. I know God is able and I know he is a healer. May God give me traveling mercies as I drive to be with her. In everything give thanks even when things just don't seem to make sense. God is still good.

Cute Escape

I have been told that watching videos of cute animals or hugging a pet can make you feel better. The world of entertainment is there to distract you for a while from what is going on in your "real" world. I know that God is a source of peace and I would like to think he created baby animals as a cute escape. I found a video clip here and I will share it with you. I hope it will bring a smile to your face and heart. To watch click here. God is good.

Peaceful Heart

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." I won't go into details, but today threw me a curveball. I had a hard time applying this scripture to my life. In the middle of it all, I stopped and prayed. I asked God to help me to think clearly and to give peace. He did. God stepped in and I will rest in the peace of the Lord tonight. Sometimes things happen that do not make sense until after things have settled. No matter what comes your way, don't let it trouble your heart. God is with you. God is good.

Bees For Joe

At Christmas time, Bob gave Joe, a bee hive kit. We had to wait until the Spring to give him the bees. Now that it's finally warming up, Bob, Joe, RJ and Joe Joe took a ride out to the bee farm to pick up the bees. RJ said it was a really neat experience and he learned a lot about bees. When they arrived with the bees, we gathered from a safe distance and watched Joe, put the bees in the hive. I was surprised to see how calm the bees were and I expected them to go crazy, but they didn't. They knew that if they stung him, they would die. He was very gentle with the bees and they buzzed around him, but were calm. I think he used a bees smoker which calms them, and I think this is how he was able to move them from the box and into the hive. The bee keeper told them that the bees will get to know Joe. In the pictures you will see he is not wearing the suit. It was not needed at the time. He will most likely have one when he is harvesting the honey they will eventually produce. Joe is really good with nature and it was neat to see him excited about the bees. I have no doubt the honey they make will be delicious. Bees are so important to the environment. Without bees plants will die, we need them. I hope Joe finds hours of enjoyment with his bees. God is good.

Pearl In NJ

Today we brought Pearl to NJ to meet Grammy. She had a blast in the woods with the other dogs and spent time with Grammy in the garden. She's so sweet and greeted everyone with kisses. We are looking forward to our weekend in NJ. God is good.

History of Judaism and Islam

Tonight in our church's weekly Bible study, we had a guest speaker. Bro. Wyser is always full of a plethora of knowledge. I usually attempt to take notes and more often then not, give up. I can't write as quickly as he speaks. Without fail, I always learn something new when he comes. He's a very smart man who teaches with an anointing. Tonight he taught on a subject that is very relevant to our present day. Bro. Wyser has a 10 hour course he teaches in regards to the History of Judaism, Islam and Jihad. He gave us about an hours worth tonight in the Bible study. He did hand out a paper with notes to follow and I still am not sure that if I type the notes, it will convey what he said, as he said it. The bases of the lesson was that Judaism and Islam are two major religions of the world. They are at odds with each other and it reaches all the way back to Isaac and Ishmael. Isaac represents Judaism and Ishmael represents Islam. Islam didn't come fully into a religion until thousands of years after Judaism came to be. Judaism came to be, the laws, after the Jews had their Exodus from Egypt. Islam and the Koran via Mohammad came many, many years later. I won't go into all the details since it would take hours to write. I will link at the end of this blog to where you can purchase an e-book of this lesson if you are interested in knowing more. Bro. Wysers brought up something I was not aware of. I know that Jews are waiting for the Messiah, We as Christians are waiting for the soon return of Jesus Christ. The Muslims are waiting for their 12th Imam to reveal himself. Everyone is at a waiting point and all are saying the time is coming very soon. The book of Revelation talks about things to look for as signs to know that the Lord is coming back. All you have to do is check the news and you are bombarded with things that show us Jesus is coming soon! If you can't see that something big is about to happen, you must have your head in the sand. The pressure is building and something will take place. I am not afraid, I am excited! I don't like what is happening in the world around us. I am sadden by the destruction. In the midst of all this, my soul rejoices, for Jesus is coming! If you would like to know more you can visit his website at You can also e-mail him at To all my Jewish friends, I wish you a Happy Passover. Your messiah is soon to come. God is good.

In Good Company

For a while now I have done extensive testing in regards to my infertility. The last results came in today and I was told that there was nothing that could be done for me. The doctors once again told me that they don't know how I have, RJ. According to my genetics, I'm not supposed to be able to have children. I can conceive, but am not supposed to be able to get past 5 weeks. Instead of 23 chromosomes from me, the baby gets 19 or 18, which means the baby can't survive. My doctor is Jewish and looked me in the eye and said you are in good company and he left it at that. He told me to enjoy the one I had and there was nothing he could do for me. He was not being rude, just honest. He is not the first person to make that statement, "You are in good company". I decided to do some research on women in the Bible who had fertility problems. There were more than I had heard of. I came across a site that broke it down pretty well and I will link it at the end of this blog. Each of these women had a miracle child. These children did great things for God. For some, they only had the one child. Hannah went on to have more after her first miracle child. Bob and I are believing that if God can give us one miracle, he can give us another. We have always been thankful for our son, now we are even more thankful for him. He's a good boy who has a heart for the Lord. I was barren and didn't even know it and God smiled upon me and blessed my womb with RJ. When we have our next child, we will know that this child was also a miracle from God. We will make sure to give him all the glory. We give him the glory for our son, RJ. For those who have children, cherish them, each child is a gift. You can learn more about barren women who God blessed here. God is good.

2016 Primaries

I voted today. I voted for Bob. I think he would make a great President. He's not a perfect person, but in my mind a much better choice than any on the ballot today. When I went in to place my vote, I saw there was no "other" box for me to write my choice in. When I asked, I was told that I did have the right to vote for someone else and I just had to write it on the ballot. So, write I did. Some of my friends have said they are going to vote for him too. I am American and I believe that as an American, I need to go out and vote. However, as an American, I can vote for someone else. I doubt his name will come up in the tally's given. That's ok, I have a clear conscience because I voted for someone that I could see as the President Of The United States Of America. I hope if you are slated to vote today, you went out and voted. We don't have to agree on who we voted on, I just hope we were fellow Americans and made our voices "heard". On election day in November, I most likely again will write; Robert M Manners, Republican from Long Island, NY, on the ballot line. God is good.

Vote For Bob

Tomorrow is voting day in New York. We will have an opportunity to vote for who we think is the best presidential candidate (depending on your registered party) to run for the office of The President Of The United States of America. The one person I would have voted for is no longer in the race. I was thinking and praying about who to vote for and I found myself without any answers. I read up on each candidate and came to the conclusion that I didn't want to vote for any of them. I want to vote, I feel the need to vote and here I find myself with the realization that I do not want my name attached to any of them. So, I sat and pondered for a while and came to a decision. I am voting for Bob. Yes, you read that correctly. I am voting for Robert M Manners. Tomorrow, when I go in to vote, I am going to fill in the circle marked other and I am going to write his name on the ballot. You can vote for whomever you seem fit, I will be voting for Bob. God is good.

When I See The Cross

This past weekend the men had a church retreat and their guest speaker was Bro. Harold Linder. My husband told me that it was very good and they laughed a lot. I have heard Bro. Linder preach and he pretty much has you laughing so hard during his sermons that you have to catch your breath. Today, he did make us laugh in the beginning, but it was clear that he was feeling a great deal of compassion today. I don't think I have ever seen or heard him preach like he did today. His main text was from Galatians 6:14 with the title of, "When I See The Cross". Today the worship was off the charts and Bro. Linder addressed this. He said it was our way of "boasting" about the Lord. We have intense praise because we know what God has done for us and what he has brought us out of. We are boasting about the cross. There has been no greater love than the love of Jesus when he died on the cross for our sins. The love of Jesus is greater than confusion, fear, loneliness, emptiness, depression, sickness and addiction. His grace is greater than it all. John 3:16,He loved the world with such a great love that he gave for us. The cross changes everything. When we see the cross, we see the sacrifice and his commitment for you and I. Some do not see what we see, when they look at the cross. A lot of people think of the cross as foolishness and they are offended by it. When we see the cross we see the blood he shed on Calvary, we see our salvation. The cross is his power, wisdom and love for us. Boasting comes in different ways. The apostles boasted about Jesus and all he did for us. Then there is the boasting of everything that is just going wrong in our lives. We need to focus instead on the power of God. Keep your mind and conversation on the things of God. Let his light shine through you. The cross is also a message that Jesus is a healer. The cross is repentance, baptism and salvation, Acts 2:38-39. When we repent of our sins, Jesus will show up. He will cover us with the blood he shed on the cross for you and I. When we are baptized in his name, our past is forgotten. His cross is amazing grace! We must realize that Jesus is coming soon. If the spirit of Jesus dwells inside of your body, when the world goes down, you will go up! He carried the cross for me, I will carry my cross for him! It's not always comfortable, but it's worth it all. Some may mock the cross, but we will cherish the cross! At the end of his sermon, Bro. Linder began to quote the words to one of my all time favorite hymns. When I was younger and we would sing this song in church, I would weep. I have not heard it sung in a long time. " I will cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophy's at last I lay down, I cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it one day for a crown". You can hear, "The Old Rugged Cross", here. I appreciate the depth of Bro. Linder's sermon today. When I see the cross I see a reminder that my savior lives and because of Him, I am free. God is good.

Pizza Angel & Baby Shower

Today was a busy day. RJ had entered an art project at his school. The idea was to make a food type item out of recycled materials. He decided to make a pizza. He called it Pizza Angel. He was a bit sad when he found out that he did not win and I used it as a teaching lesson to try again next year. Later in the day I then attended a baby shower for a dear friend of mine. I'm so happy she is having a baby and it was fun celebrating the wonderful gift God has given her and her husband. I had a lot of fun shopping for the baby items and am glad she liked her gifts. I have no doubt she will be an awesome mommy. It's been a long day and I am looking forward to church tomorrow. I am also looking forward to my honey being home too. He has been away at a men's retreat with our church and I miss him a lot. When we were getting married we were told that after a while I would not miss him so much when he left on trips. This year will make 10 years of being married. I still miss him when he goes away and I will be glad when he comes home. I love my husband and am thankful for him. God is good.

Saber Time

RJ has a school friend over for a sleepover. They have been having a great time. First they were outside playing with Pearl and then had some down time in the house. When Ross finished his study time, he had a light saber duel with them. It's nice to see them having fun and using their imagination. Don't get me wrong, presently they are now taking a break and enjoying some electronic entertainment. We make it a point in our home to have lots of "toys" to encourage RJ's imagination. Playing outside with a bunch of sticks, sand, dirt and water makes for a whole new world that electronics just can't give you. God is good.

Power of Authority

Tonight was a transforming service. We had a guest speaker. Bro. Aslam Malik a North American Missionary to Canada. He has extensive missionary background in Siri Lanka and Pakistan. Presently he has started two churches in Canada that speak 5 languages; English, French, Punjabi, Hindi, Farsi and Arabic. He showed us a video of their worship service. They sang the same song in several different languages. It was so nice to see and hear them worship a familiar song in their native language. I pray to see that here in NY. We have so many nationalities here in NY that need to hear about Jesus! Bro. Malik first started out by talking about 3 dimensions of the Word of God. 1) The Voice of God. In the beginning he spoke to us with his voice. You need to know his voice and know when he is talking to you. 2)Written Word of God. The same way God spoke to the people in the Old and New Testament, God talks to us today. When we read his words, we can see his direction and "hear" his voice. This is taking us from the natural into the supernatural. 3)His Spirit Writes On Our Hearts. We go from hearing his voice, to seeing his word and then having it written on our hearts. We literally become the word of God. Everywhere you go, the word of God goes. When you are around people they are reading the word of God through you. They are drawn to you because the word of God is in you. Before they ever open a Bible they will first read it through you and how you live your life. Once they become interested and drawn to you, they will then read the Bible. At this point, Bro. Malik then gave the title for his sermon," Power of Authority". He read from Isaiah 10:24-27. Anytime you read in the Bible the words," Thus saith the Lord", it's God's voice speaking. We need to learn the difference between the spoken and written word of God. Learn to concentrate on his voice. We are the church and we are to not live in fear. The world will come against us and place their yoke upon us. God breaks and destroys these yokes and comforts us. He destroys it by the anointing. He does not just break it, he destroys it. Something that is broken can be fixed. Something that is destroyed is shattered beyond repair. God does not just give us a breakthrough and leave us there. God destroys it and gives us his yoke. His yoke is easy and light. To be free of the yoke and bondage, you must first take it off, release it and give it to God. There is the spiritual and the natural. We can have the knowledge of what something is. When we know who God is that changes everything. There are 3 types of anointing. 1) The Leper's  Anointing. God has mercy and heals those that come to him. In the beginning the anointing was meant only for the priests. God made a way for the Lepers, Jesus touched them and they were healed. He is the anointed one, he can do what he wants. Healing is for everyone, we just need to ask and believe in our healing when we ask. 2) Relationship Anointing. Just as we consume food, we consume the boldness of the spiritual. With a fresh and new anointing we are able to boldly talk about Jesus. We need to be led by the spirit. When we are led by the spirit, we are son's of God. God is the Word. The Word is the Spirit. When you get a revelation it lays a foundation that settles and gets ready for the next revelation to come. This is why it's so important to read the word of God ever day. 3)Anointing For Others, The Kings Anointing. We are anointed to preach the gospel. We need the spirit and the anointing. The Apostles had the anointing and did many sign and wonders in his name. They did all this before they had the Holy Ghost. They were anointed but they did not have the authority. After they received the Holy Ghost they had the authority and the anointing. You must have both active in your life. Bro. Malik then asked everyone to come forward. He said that the anointing was going to break the burdens we were carrying. When we shout the name of Jesus, it will destroy these burdens and then we were to replace it with what Jesus had for us. There is so much "stuff" I have been carrying around. I didn't' want to carry it anymore. I gave it all to Jesus. I want him to shine through me everywhere I go. I want others to see Jesus, not all the issues of life that come with living. After we prayed for a while, he asked for those that needed healing to come forward. At first I was not going to go up, God has healed me of so many things, emotionally and physically. I was going to stay back and pray for others. Then I remembered Hannah from the Bible. The doctors have told me that genetically they don't know how I have RJ and that I need to stop trying to have a baby and enjoy the one I do have. I had accepted this. Then, tonight, I decided to not accept what the doctors have said. If God can give me RJ, then he can give me another baby. We want to have another child. I went up with faith believing that I will have another baby. I thank God for RJ, I know he is a miracle. I have faith he can do a miracle again. God is good.

When You Love Jesus

I was thinking today about something Bishop Davis talked about on Sunday. He was asking us if we loved Jesus. He said that when someone loves Jesus you can see it radiate from their face. There is just something about someone who truly loves Jesus. We can say we love him, but do we really love him? When you love someone you do things to please them and they are a part of your every day life. We all know when someone is in love because when they see the person or even just say their name there is a sparkle in their eye and a glow on their face. The way they treat others is impacted by their love for that person. It's something to think about. God is good.

Respect And Keep The Presence

Tonight in our nightly Bible reading we came across the story in I Samuel where the Israelites had been defeated by the Philistines and the Ark of the Covenant was now in their possession. On Sunday the sermon that was preached was about how Obed-Edom was blessed by having the presence of God in his midst. The Philistines did not worship God, but had idols that they worshipped. Instead of gifts from God, their gods were broken. Every camp that the Ark was transferred was faced with some type of calamity. They had a fear and respect for the presence of God. Even when the one true God showed his mighty power, they did not worship him. I find that interesting. The presence of God was in their midst and even though they had a type of respect and fear of him, they chose to not worship him. I have been in his presence and I don't want to ever take it for granted. Yet, we can lose respect and awe that we are in his presence. Right now in America we have freedom to worship God. What will happen when that freedom is taken from us? Will we still crave and seek after his presence? Will be began to bow down to the "gods" of this present day? America is losing it's awe and respect for the presence of God. Christians must hold fast to his presence and cherish every time you feel his presence surround you. Seek after him every day, don't wait for a church service. One day, you may not have a church service available for you to find his presence in. Know him now and when that day comes, no matter where you are, you will know when his presence is with you. God is good.

Puppy Adaptation

If you have been reading my blog, you will know that we have a new puppy. We adore Pearl and she fits right in. It's fun to see how she reacts when someone comes home. For each one of us, its different. When I come home, she wants to cuddle and give kisses. When RJ comes home, she just lays in his lap and then wants to play "Star Wars" outside with him. When Ross comes home, she runs up to have her ears scratched. When Bob comes home, she jumps all over the place and starts "telling" him all about her day. She is so excited she can hardly sit. It's interesting how she is developing a unique relationship with everyone in the house. One thing that is certain is that we are in the puppy training process. For the most part the potty training is going surprising well. It's the chewing on everything stage that is a challenge. She is coming along well and we have no regrets about bringing her into our home. I still believe she is a rainbow sent from God to our lives. It's fun watching her develop and become a very solid part of our family. God is good.

His Presence More Than His Presents

Today in church, we had a guest speaker. Bro. Hobson preached an outstanding sermon. I like it when I learn something new and while he was preaching I had an ahah moment. It goes to show that you can be in church your whole life and still learn something new. Bro. Hobson preached from Acts 15:14-17 and I Chronicles 15. His topic was," Wanting His Presence More Than His Presents". Now that can be a bit of a tongue twister and he said he chose presents instead of gifts because it just sounded better. He was not only anointed he was funny too. We all like presents. We all like the blessings of God. We like the blessings and the presence of God. When you are in a Apostolic church like Bethel, you will see a lot of praise. We are worshiping because we know where God has brought us from. We are thankful for his blessings. We need to get a point where we want his presence more than his presents. In the book of Acts we see that it refers to the temple that David built. David's temple for the Ark of the Covenant was made out of a tent. It was nothing exciting or grand, but it housed the Ark of the Covent. Before David was actually King, he had built a strong foundational relationship with God. When he had been anointed to be the next king and was running for his life from King Saul, he was even closer to God. He knew the presence of God. Once he became King, he had all the presents that come with it. He was missing something vital and important. He was missing the presence of God. Therefore, he began a search to find the Ark of the Covenant and bring God's presence back to Israel. When he went to bring the Ark back, he forgot the instructions of how it was to be carried. He had a cart built and put an Ox in front to pull. He was so excited as they were brining the Ark back. Then, something happened and Uzzah reached out to stop the Ark from falling over. God struck him dead. I have heard this story my whole life and never understood why God struck him dead if he was just trying to help. It never occurred to me that the disobedience was due to how they were carrying the Ark. It was supposed to be carried by the Priest and that even though it was made of gold and heavy, God would help them. David had forgotten this and tried to bring it in his own way. How many times have we forgotten God's instructions and decided to do it our way. Sometimes the very thing standing in the way of you and the presence of God is you. When David saw what happened, he became afraid and left the Ark to be taken care of by Obed-Edom. Obed-Edom cleared a place and did what he was told. Three months later, David finds out that because the Ark was with Obed-Edom, he was being blessed. God was blessing everything in Obed-Edom's life. David wanted the presence of God to be with him and this time he decided to do it right. He had the Priests sanctify themselves and they carried the Ark according to how God instructed. Every so many steps they would offer an Ox as a sacrifice and worship the Lord. God was pleased with this. When Obed-Edom saw that the Ark was leaving, he didn't want to be away from the presence of God. He left all the presents he had been given from God behind and followed the presence of God. He spent the rest of his life dedicating his life to being in God's presence. This changed the course of his family and for future generations. When you chose his presence over the blessings and just truly want to be with him, God changes everything. The course of your life changes. The future of your children changes. What do you want more, all the blessings only or do you want to be transformed by his presence? God is good.

Waiting For Spring

It would seem that Spring is deciding to not show up. It has been cold and rainy all day. Yes, there is a saying that indicates April rain will bring flowers in May. However, this rain is cold and I don't know how much flowers it will bring in May. I'm used to a mild spring rain, not a freezing spring rain. I'm not complaining, just wondering when it will warm up again. Regardless of the rain, I am enjoying time with my family and all the cuddles I can get from my little puppy Pearl. God is good.

Happy Soap

For those of us who have an extreme sense of smell, some places can make us want to leave quickly. Or if it's extreme, over scented places can be a type of torture. Thankfully, if it smells good, I'm good. I remember when I was pregnant with RJ, my normally over-reactive sense of smell, was even worse. I was very glad to go back to my "normal" sense of smell. It's starting to look like RJ has my same sense of smell. Thus, when I went to Bath & Body Works today and saw they had a sell on their hand soap, I was super excited. RJ being like me, was just as excited when he saw what I had brought home. I know this sounds silly and simplistic and to some a bit boring. However, I am glad that today was "just" a day of finding a happy moment in soap. For me, every time I wash my hands and smell the fragrance, I feel a pep in my step. Life can become overwhelming at times. Find something simple in your life that brings a smile to your face and heart. Put it around you and keep the happy parts of your life alive. For myself and RJ, it's as simple as soap that smells wonderful. God is good.

We Will Not Sit Down

Tonight in church we had guest speakers, Bro. Dennis and Sis. Amy Uecker. They are missionaries to Latvia. I love it when missionaries come and you can see the excitement in their eyes before they even speak. I have no doubt that this excitement will bring forth a great revival in Latvia. Before Bro. Uecker spoke, his wife came up to the platform to sing and gave a testimony. I appreciated her words on putting our full trust in God for all things. They both gave much thanks to Sheaves For Christ in regards to their vehicle that makes traveling much easier. A short video was played regarding the work they are doing in Latvia. It was neat to see all the different nationalities/countries in their video. Bro. Uecker then read from I Samuel 16:1-3,11 and focused on the phrase, "We will not sit down, till he come hither." God has not changed. The same God that gave direction to Samuel and Moses is the same God today. Just as he gave them instructions that didn't seem to make sense, God many times does that with us today. All we need is to surrender to him and he will take care of the rest. Many times we are not ready to give him everything because we have a plan, God has a plan and his is much better. Give god everything and he will make a way. We are to not sit down until he comes. We need to share this gospel wherever God leads and guides us. Bro. Uecker gave many wonderful stories of things he has seen and experienced in many different countries. The entire time he was talking I was thinking about how relaxed he was. His confidence in God underlined everything he said. He and his wife have complete and total trust in God. Latvia is their home and that was very evident. I pray the love they have for Latvia opens many doors for them. When the service was over, RJ wanted to see their display table. He wanted one of their magnets and I was pretty excited when I saw they have coffee mugs. I love to collect coffee mugs from interesting places. Thus, tonight I am drinking warm tea (coffee will be tomorrow morning) from my new mug. I will say a prayer for Latvia every time I use it. God is good.

Pearl's Lullaby

I can't resist telling another Pearl story. RJ and Mozart ( our dog who died recently) had a very mellow relationship. It was a happy one and they were very devoted to each other. With Pearl I am seeing a different side of RJ. I don't know if it's because he's older and she's a puppy, but oh the love! He tucks her into her bed and carries here around singing to her a lullaby. It's so sweet and I have to stifle my laughter, because he is rocking the doggy bed and trying very hard not to drop everything. She loves him so much, that she just lays there and I think she enjoys it. God could not have given us a better dog. Yes, she gets hyper, we are still potty training and she's teething. All this cannot outshine how much RJ adores her. She is more than a pet to him, she has become his best friend. I'm so thankful for this. God is good.

My Hiding Place

Tonight in our Home Group Bible Study, the topic was about having peace in the middle of chaos. As the lesson was being given, a song came to mind. The first time I heard it was when I was in Taiwan. In fact I learned it first in Chinese and then later learned it in English. The name of the song is, "You Are My Hiding Place." The words are: "You are my hiding place. You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance, whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You, I will trust in You. Let the weak say I am strong in the strength of the Lord. You are my hiding place. You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You ,I will trust in You, Let the weak say I am strong in the strength of the Lord. I will trust in You". It's such a pretty song. God is my hiding place and I place my full trust in him. You can listen to it here. You can also listen it in Chinese here. I added a picture that I took when I was in Taiwan. The rainbow is a constant reminder that God is with us and cares about us. God is good.

Piano Pearl

First, I must start off by saying how cold it is. We had a mix of snow and rain today. It looks like Spring, but feels like Winter. That being said, I will now focus on my topic for tonight. I have been talking a lot about our new puppy, Pearl. She is full of pleasant surprises. Today, when RJ started to play the piano, she started to howl, bark and "sing" along. She gave me the indication that she wanted to be on the piano too. I figured it wouldn't hurt to see what happened, so I put her on the piano bench. She propped her self up and put her paws on the keys and was so excited. She wanted to play the piano with her boy. It was adorable. Every day, I give thanks to the Lord for giving us such an amazing puppy. I have had dogs all my life and have never known a dog to be filled with so much love. I was told Bichon's are loyal. I just had no idea how much love they pour on those around them. She has been wonderful for RJ and I'm so thankful for her. God is good.

The Devil Needs A Dentist

When Bro. Walker preaches, I have come to learn that we are going to hear and outstanding sermon. His titles are usually out of the box, but the message hits home, every time. We appreciate him and his wife a great deal. Today's sermon was full of strength and encouragement. As I was taking notes, I realized he was pretty much speaking the scriptures and they were speaking for themselves. I don't even know if I can convey his sermon properly, but I will do my very best to do so. The title of the sermon was, "The Devil Needs A Dentist". His main text was from Psalm 35:1-6.26-28. Some of the other scriptures he used were: Micah 3:5, Revelation 9, Job 16:9, Psalm 35:16, Lamentations 2:15-16, Psalm 57:1-5, Psalm 37:12-40 Psalm 58:3, Psalm 112:10 and Psalm 124:1-8 I may have missed a few here and there. The atmosphere was very charged and at times, I was not able to write as quickly as he was speaking. Bro. Walker first started out by sharing a story from his childhood and visiting the dentist. He strived very hard to not have any cavities, because he wanted a prize at the end of the visit. Teeth are pretty important to our livelihood. We need them to eat our food. They are the first line of defense. When your tooth hurts, your whole body hurts. The Bible says a lot about teeth. Usually it's used to represent something or someone who is wicked. In the book of Daniel, a beast is described as having great teeth of iron. We also read about a bottomless pit with fire and smoke, it will open and devour. We also read of a great big locust with huge teeth, wearing a crown, trying to replicate the true King. There is only one King and that is Jesus. The enemy of your soul wants to stop you. He sends out devourers to destroy you. They sink their teeth into the progress of the church and leave behind wounds to the body of Christ. We have an adversary that is sharpening his teeth and his eyes are on the upright. He is trying to sink his teeth into your life. The enemy stands around you and mocks you and tries to get you to give in to defeat. Some say this is the time that the devil is rising. We, the church, needs to rise out from the crowd and shine! This needs to be the churches greatest hour. It's time to stand up and declare that enough is enough. We must know that God is fighting for us, he shall save us! No matter the spears or arrows thrown at you or how hard the devil tries to bite you, the Lord laughs at it. He will defeat the devil and nock his teeth out. If you fall, you shall rise up again, for God will lift you up. Wait on the Lord, trust in the Lord. Go to war on your knees in prayer. Stand on Christ your solid rock. It does not matter what is being done to defeat you, God will break the teeth of the enemy. You must seek the Lord's face and give it to him. Let God fight your battles. Be a light and shine in the darkness. My notes stop there. No matter who you are, if you are living for God, you are going to go through some things. When you make the choice to follow Christ, all hell will come against you. The brighter your light shines for Jesus, the more of a threat you are to the devil. If you are doing your best to live your life for Jesus, He will fight for you. Don't give you, keep walking forward, keep moving and keep trusting. When the arrows come, worship and praise your way to victory! God is good.

Day Of Insight

Today while Bob and RJ were out on a Daddy Day, I was at a teacher's seminar. The speakers were great and it's always good to learn something new.  It's so important for a church to have a ministry for children. We need to go beyond teaching the word, we need to love them with the love of Christ. Sis. Davis spoke from her heart, she loves people and you could see that was evident today. We are glad Bob is home and their Daddy Day was a great day. God is good.
