Dear Kelly

There has been a video clip circulating the social media sites of a certain song. The person singing the song is Kelly Clarkson, the song she is singing is very moving. I looked up the lyrics and the story behind the song. I'm not sharing it with you, because I tend to try and only post songs that edify on this blog. Her song struck very close to home for me in the sense that my biological dad was not the greatest. Like the words, I am so thankful to have a husband who loves our boy and loves me. I do have an adopted dad who is an amazing example of how a dad/husband should be. My mom, no matter what, always kept her walk with the Lord. She was an example to me that regardless of what was going on, Jesus loved us. I have no idea where Kelly stands in her relationship with her parents. I was told a lot of her songs are fueled by anger towards her dad. I did not take time to verify it and I don't know all of her songs. If I could sit down with Kelly, I would tell her that I understand her hurt and anger. I understand the awesome wonder that comes from watching your husband be not only a great husband, but a loving dad as well. However, I do not walk around with anger in my heart towards my dad. I forgave. So, when I heard this song today, I did not cry. I rejoiced. I gave thanks that my heart was not filled with bitterness and I gave thanks for where I am today. I have a song in my heart and it's filled with love to my savior, Jesus. In fact, her song caused an old song to rise up within me. I want to share it with you. The song is, "Lord I Love You", sung by Bobbi Shoemake. You can hear it here. God is good.

Nothing Important Happened Today

This morning we attended church at Solid Rock, pastored by -Bro. Hanscom. He preached an impassioned sermon with the title of, "Nothing Important Happened Today". The main text was from II Peter:3:8-10. On July 4th 1776, King George wrote in his diary, "Nothing important happened today." When in reality it was the when the Declaration of Independence was signed. Bro Hanscom then went one to share many dates that were very important in his life. For him, they were a big deal, but for other's it was just a normal day where nothing important happened. With God every day is an important day. Every day is closer to his soon coming return. Every day is a chance to repent and make your life right with God. Every day is a chance to have an encounter with Christ. There is a final day coming when the rapture will take place. That day will not be an ordinary day for anyone. After that day, the grace of God will not longer be around. On that day, the chance to give you life to Christ will have come and gone. What may be an ordinary day to you, could be a life changing day for another. Live your life for Christ, so that on the day of his soon return, you will be caught up to meet him in the air. God is good.

Grammy's New Car

Today we brought a special delivery to my Mother in law. Due to her recent car accident, she has been in need of a car. We gladly delivered a new set of wheels for her. She was so excited when she saw it. It's nice and big with some fun things to learn and discover. I'm glad she will be able to get around in her new red "chariot". God is good.

Pine Derby

Tonight we attended a Pine Derby race taking place with the local boy scout troop. The boys were very excited. We attended to see if it was something RJ would like to join. He liked the comradery between the boys. Unfortunately, the group he would need to be a part of, meets on Sunday's. We hope we can find another local group that meets on Saturday's. We keep God and church first in our lives. It was something different and we enjoyed it. God is good.

Be Offensive Part 2

Tonight Pastor Davis gave part 2 of his lesson, "Be Offensive". It was just as good as part 1. His main text came from, 2 Corinthians 10:3-4. Pastor Davis wanted to clarify that when his is talking about warfare, he is not talking about literally fighting. He is talking about spiritual battles done on our knees in prayer. He is not advocating literally fighting with physical weapons. To be offensive is to fight a spiritual warfare in the Kingdom of God against spiritual darkness. The best defense is a strong offense. It's impossible to win a battle without a strong offense. You cannot take new territory if you are always on the defensive. The strongest weapon in spiritual warfare is the word of God. There are other weapons in spiritual warfare that can be used. These weapons pull down spiritual strongholds. The name of Jesus is one of the strongest offenses we can use. All power is in that name. The name of Jesus challenges, Satan’s illegal kingdom. Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. When you read the Bible you see that he has been given many titles or names to describe him. All these are wrapped up into the name of Jesus. When you speak the name of Jesus, you speak it all into your life. When you say Jesus, you have said it all (Lee Stoneking). Sometimes we don't understand the power behind the name of Jesus. We must be careful to not use his name in vain. We should not even say, "OH MY God". When we do this, we are still using his name in vain. When you apply the name of Jesus, there is power behind it. Demons know the power of the name and fear it. When they hear the name of Jesus spoken into something, they know they must leave. The name of Jesus is not a magic potion that can be spoken over something. If you do not have the authority to use it, it's of no use to you. Acts 19:13-16 gives an example of the name of Jesus being used and because they did not have the authority to use it, the demons turned on them. Be reverent of the name of Jesus and make sure you are a part of the family of Jesus Christ before you attempt to use his name. Another powerful weapon of warfare is The Blood Of Jesus. This blood is triumphant over sin and cleanses us. The only way to be covered by the blood of Jesus is through baptism in his name. No matter who you are or how good we look, we have all been saved by God's grace, we are covered by the blood of Jesus. The devil is the accuser of the brethren. He will come and accuse you of your past. When he does this you need to remind him of his future. You are covered by the blood of Jesus! We also have the weapon of Prayer when we are in spiritual warfare. Prayer attacks all evil and triumphs over the fleshly appetite. Prayer is not always to change the situation; it is prayer that changes us. Your prayer fuels the battle. One person on their knees in prayer can change things. When we pray, things begin to happen. The last weapon is Praise. When we praise it defeats the enemy. If we are feeling down or depressed, we can praise our way out of it. Remember that your help comes from the Lord. You can be sad and still have praise. When you praise him through your sadness, it is because you have faith God is going to work it all out for your good. God is more than enough. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. With God, you are victorious. If God is for you, who can be against you. When going inti spiritual warfare, make sure to use all your weapons while on your knees in prayer. God is good.

Hello Wind

As I write we are getting some strong gusts of wind. Bob and I went out on a date and while we were at our local Diner, we kept hearing this loud banging noise. We thought it was strange that someone was doing construction during a rain storm. When we really paid attention, we realized it was the wind. On our drive home, we saw a lot of steet lights flickering and many stop lights were out of order. The wind was so strong that the street signs were whipping back and forth like they were made of rubber. I am hoping we do not lose our power tonight. I pray there are no downed trees or power lines. I know I can sleep in peace for the master of the wind is covering my home tonight. God is good.

One Of Those Days

Have you ever had one is those days? From the time I woke up until group (home Bible Study) started, it has been non-stop. I wish I could say that I was full of cheer the entire time, but that would be a lie. Today was a lot of life "stuff" and I was allowing it to frustrate me. I forgot to do something super important, I forgot to stop in the middle of the "stuff and say a prayer. By the end of group, I felt such a calm all around me. The "stuff" from day was washed off of me and I was at peace. Being in the presence of the Lord brought everything into perspective. It started out as one of those days, but ended as a day with Jesus. A day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before. God is good.

Peace and Cheer

Usually on Sunday during church, Bishop Davis will give a short exhortation to the church. I usually take notes on what he says. Without fail, what he says is always good. I usually intend to share it during the week, but forget. Tonight, I remembered and will attempt to share what he said with you. Bishop Davis read from John 16:33. He told us that every day with Jesus is a wonderful day. Jesus gives us peace and cheer. The world is full of tribulation, but God has overcome the world. We do not need to have fear because with Christ in us, we are overcomers in our world. We can have peace and cheer no matter the situation, for the one who has overcome the world is within us. God is good.

Itching Ears

Pastor Davis preached old time style today. I appreciate that fact that he is not backing down and is not afraid to preach undiluted truth. His sermon was based from, II Timothy 4:2-4, with the title of "Itching Ears". There are a lot of different trends among the various Christian denominations, to be inclusive. There is pressure to be tolerant to all things and to not offend when preaching or teaching. Doctrinal and moral issues are going into a gray area. In the word of God there are not gray areas, it's black and white. Something is either right or it's wrong, there is no in-between. We are living in perilous times. Those who once held true to the gospel and starting to water things down. People in today's society have itching ears. They want to hear things that are pleasing to them. They have a desire to hear what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. No one wants to hear sound doctrine any more. We must be willing to stand strong and hold to sound doctrine. If the Bible says it's a sin, then it's a sin. There is no other way around it. When Jesus taught this way, many were offended and no longer followed him. Today, when the words of Jesus are preached, many do not want to hear or accept it and will go where they hear what they want to hear. God's word has not changed, it's just as true now as it was then. Everyone wants cotton candy. They want fluff that really is just sweets with no merit and is not good for the soul. If all you eat is fluff, you will become sick and eventually die. Instead of hearing the word of God being preached, everyone wants to go to a theater. Churches are becoming entertainment centers and no longer look like a church. You can no longer tell the difference between a church and a nightclub. No one wants to hear about obedience, righteousness and holiness anymore. All the fluff has no substance and there is no power. Technology is great and there is nothing wrong with it. We must be careful that we don't become so focused on being cool and having all the technology, we lose sight of Jesus Christ. We must not lose the power of the Holy Ghost. There is only one truth that can set you free. Be careful what you listen to, not all preachers are preaching the truth. It's so important that you know your Bible. You must be able to hear when something being taught is incorrect. The more you are into the word, the more you will be able to distinguish truth from a lie. There is one way to heaven. You must repent of your sins, be baptized in the name of Jesus and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Know what you believe. Jesus is coming soon, you must be ready. If you say you are a follower of Christ, you must look and act like one. Check what the Bible says is the life of a Christian. We must have a form of godliness and holiness in our life. Let God's word be true and every man a liar. Sometimes when we read the words of Jesus, they hurt. We know God is chastening us and wanting us to be better. He does not do this because he does not love us, it's because he loves us that he chastens us. If we are not learning, we are not growing. We may read something and know a change is needed. Even if it hurts, make the change, blessings are waiting for you. Keep your foundation strong, hold true to this gospel. Only Jesus has the words of life. Even when it's not popular, hold on to the truth. There is a song we used to sing growing up called, "One God Apostolic". You can listen to it here. God is good.

Ladies & Valentines

This morning I had the privilege and honor to share a part of my testimony with the ladies from Bethel. We had our annual winter breakfast and I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my heart. The food and fellowship was outstanding as always. I love my church family. Later in the evening, Bob and I went out for our Valentines Dinner. We were not able to celebrate since I was in Idaho for my grandpa's funeral. He surprised me and took me to dinner at The Milleridge Inn, which is where we had our wedding reception. The food was really good. He also bought me my favorite flowers, gave me a card and chocolates. I love my husband and thank God for him. God is good.

Be Offensive

Tonight Pastor Davis taught the first part of a new series of lessons. His subject is "Be Offensive" and his main scriptures are from 2 Corinthians 10:3-4. When we go into spiritual warfare we need to be doing it in the Offensive and not in the Defensive. We are not on a defensive battlefield with Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that the gates of hell will not prevail against us. Gates do not get up and walk, they never move. The church is on the offensive and are storming the gates, they cannot hold up against the church. The church needs to be storming the gates of hell. We do not battle in the flesh with literal bombs and guns. The battle is a spiritual one. Our weapons are mighty through God, pulling down strongholds of the devil. We are a part of a battle that has been going on since the beginning of time. You must pick a side to be on. You will either be on the good side or the evil side. There is no neutral place. It's fight for God or fight for the devil. Once you make a choice and stand for righteousness, the forces of darkness will start to come against you. You must know that the devil cannot be at more than once place at a time. He has many fallen angels that work for him. Many times when you are being fought by someone or something, it's not the person, but a spirit that is influencing them to come against you. You are not to fight the person; you are to fight the spirit behind what is going on. Be a light and show the love of Christ to the person and fight the spirit on your knees in prayer. Every child of God is a soldier. Your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit dwells. Do not confuse this with the popular culture of today to build your body. Yes, you need to eat right and be healthy, just make sure that you don't get so involved that you start to worship your body. We are fighting an unseen world, Ephesians 6:12. This generation is seeing the beginning of the end of all things. We need to take up our sword and fight. Pastor Davis then mentioned 6 specific reasons of why spiritual warfare is on the rise. He cited it from Author Dr. K. Neill Foster. 1. The erosion of Judeo-Christian ethics and cultural moorings has paved the way for other gods. The spiritual atmosphere has changed as our culture has been breached by demonic forces. 2. Satan concentrates on individuals in North America, since he does not control the culture at large, as in other parts of the world. That results in spiritual warfare on a greater personal level. 3. Evangelism is more aggressive in our world than ever before, therefore there is greater spiritual opposition to it. 4. Holiness teaching has been abandoned by most denomination Christians. Abhorrence of sin and separation from the world are not just wholesome advice; they are powerful weapons. 5. The second coming of Christ is at hand, so demonic attacks are on the increase because their time is almost at an end. 6. Many Christians are more focused on authentic and fervent worship. Any increase in praise triggers spiritual warfare, because Satan desperately wants worship for himself. We have an enemy and are in battle. God has given the church everything that it needs to be triumphant in the 21st Century. We cannot focus on who is against us, we must focus on who is for us. God's church is not to be a defensive church, it is to be an offensive church, storming the gates of hell. We must know what our weapons are when we are engaged in spiritual battle. 2 Corinthians 10:4 reveals two important facts about our weapons. The first is that they are not carnal, they are not physical, talent, wealthy, ability, charisma or personality. We are in a spiritual battle, the only way to win a spiritual battle is with spiritual weapons. Remember we are not fighting people; we are fighting spirits of darkness. Pastor then talked about the first weapon. The first weapon is the strongest weapon. This weapon is the sword of the spirit, the word of God. We must read the Bible every day. God's word guides us and is powerful. When we speak word of God the demons must leave. When you are reading God's word you are growing and giving yourself tools to fight with in prayer. Reading God's word transforms you from the inside out. When you speak the word of God you overcome all things. There is power in the Word. God is good.

Faith Of A Child

There is something that RJ has been praying for. Usually when he prays, he says a very big please along with the prayer. Tonight he did something different. He thanked God for answering his prayer. It has not happened yet, but he was thanking God. He told us that if God says it's going to happen, then he's not asking for it, he's thanking for it. Such faith! Once again, I am reminded of how we are to have the faith of a child when we pray. He says it, believes it and that settles it. God is good.

Landed

Thankfully, as I traveled from Idaho to NY, I just missed each storm. I had some adventures. On one of my flights, we were all told to stay in our seats as police officers escorted two passengers off the plane. Once I was able to leave the plane, I didn't stay around to find out what was going on. I had one more flight to catch and I didn't want to miss it. I was so happy when the plane landed in NY. I miss my family and my time with them was really wonderful. I soaked up a lot of love and was reminded of how important forgiveness is. When I arrived my little boy was with his daddy waiting for me. He stayed home because he was not feeling well. Hopefully time with mommy today was all he needed. We will see in the morning. I'm super tired and jet lagged, but so glad to be home. God is good.

Headed Home

Presently I am waiting to board my flight and am headed home. I'm flying through the night with two stops along the way. Weather permitting and Lord willing, I will arrive Tuesday morning. Time with family has been amazing.  My reason for coming was a sad one and I will miss my Grandpa. He was a great example to follow and I can only hope and pray that my life will be one that he would be proud of. Saying goodbye is never easy and tonight was no exception. I'm looking forward to being with my boys again. God is good.

Valentine's Day 2016

Im still in Idaho with family. Today we attended church with Grandma. Bro. Holt  preached a compelling sermon on the types of love. We can have the love that is based on "If you do this, I will love you". The other love is based on, " I love you because of something you do." These two types of love are conditional. Then there is " I love you in spite of everything". Jesus has this kind of love for us. It was a nice sermon. This is the first Valentines Day that Bob and I are not together. We will celebrate when I am back home. Tonight, I'm enjoying time with family and especially enjoying time with Grandma. God is good.

A Life Celebrated

Last night was the home going service for my Grandpa. Robert Brollier was a man of integrity who taught us all by example. He showed us how to forgive, love unconditionally and how to laugh. He had a simple secret to a happy marriage. It's simple really. When you start to get upset or start a fight with each other, eat and take a nap. Most of the time, this will solve the problem. I loved his sense of humor. He left a special gift for the grandkids, a poem. Each of us recived a copy of it and every time I look at it, I cry. The past two days with family has been amazing. The goodbyes have started and the tears flow again. I can say, we have laughed and loved a lot and that is exactly how grandpa would have wanted it. His legacy lives on in all of us. I pray I can forgive, love and laugh like grandpa. God is good.

In The Air

I'm headed to Idaho for my Grandpa's funeral. It will be nice to see my family. The flight was delayed, and I missed my connecting flight. Thankfully, the airline put me on a new flight in the morning and I have a place to sleep for the night. God is good.

Preparation

Today was a day of packing. I was packing for my flight to Idaho and packing for Bob & RJ's trip to NJ this weekend. Ross and Mozart will keep each other company in NY. I looked at my suitcase and decided I didn't need a million different outfits or shoes. This made the packing all the lighter. I'm looking forward to seeing family. I just wish it was not under such sad circumstances. I wish  we all were going to Idaho. This will be my first Valentines away from my honey and sweet boy. I will miss them a great deal. I'm thankful for the chance to go and I know there will be laughter through the tears, that's the way Grandpa would have wanted it. God is good.

Early Valentine

Since I will be out of town on Valentine's Day due to my Grandpa's funeral, RJ and I celebrated early. He chose to have our date at IHOP. Breakfast for dinner is always a win/win for both of us. We had
a nice time chatting about Archimedes. Then he went on to politics. He decided to express his opinion to the waitress. She was pretty tickeled when he declared he was changing who he was voting for. He felt that if Rubio was not ashamed to stand for his Christian beliefs in front of the whole world, well then the man deserves his vote. I'm not endorsing anyone, I do have respect for a man who stands by his faith. God is good.

Beloved Grandpa-Robert Brollier

Today my beloved Grandpa, Robert Brollier, went to heaven. He was a man who lived by example how to love. I was not born into the Brollier family, I was adopted. Grandpa loved me the same as if I was his own flesh and blood. He had a gift of making anyone feel welcome. He always gave of his time to the Kingdom of Heaven. Two years ago I took RJ to Idaho to meet his great grandparents (as well as other family) for the first time. Their connection was immediate. He taught RJ how to play Mahjong on the computer and introduced us to his favorite pizza. I never thought a pizza with the name of Shotsy could taste so good. He loved greeting people as they walked through the door for a Sunday service. I think he was the handsomest and kindest usher I have ever come across. Everywhere he went the love of Christ shone through him. Over the past few days, many people have expressed how he has touched their lives. He was a man with a great sense of humor. My fondest memory of our visit was looking over and seeing Grandpa on the couch with the "boys". They were all laughing at something. I saw my little boy laughing harder than I have ever seen him laugh. Grandpa made the world a better place. He left behind a legacy in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a true Christian in every sense of the word. I will miss you Grandpa. Thank you for putting Jesus first. I truly believe you have heard, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant". You are pain free and walking with Jesus down streets of gold. I'm sure as you and Jesus walk, the two of you are sharing a good laugh. God is good.

Ultimate Understanding

As I write this blog, my beloved Grandpa is getting ready to leave this world and go on to his heavenly reward. I will write more about him and his legacy tomorrow. Today has been declared Super Bowl Sunday. I have no idea who the teams are and to be honest, I could care less. What I do care about is the 7 who were filled with the Holy Ghost today and for the sweet and awesome presence of God that was in the sanctuary today. What I care about is that the peace of God is surrounding my Grandpa and family. All the Super Bowls in the world cannot do for you what a moment in God's presence can do. We had a guest speaker today, Bro. Lee Stoneking. If you have ever heard him preach, then you know that today was off the charts. He has been walking with the Lord for a long time and the anointing always falls wherever he goes. My notes will not do his sermon justice, but I will do my best. His title was, "Ultimate Understanding". His main text was from Mathew 1:18,21. He also used many other scriptures, I was not able to write them all down. Here are some of them: Philippians 2:10, Mark 16:17 and John 16:4. The name Jesus, means salvation. Jesus is our salvation. You can call him many titles but the power is in his name. The Jews were able to refer to his name, but did not know his name. We now know his name and it is Jesus. When we have the name of Jesus in us, we have the power of attorney of all situations. With the name of Jesus, we own the deed. There is power in the name of Jesus. When have the name of Jesus applied to your life, you have authority over everything. When he died on the cross he went to hell and took the keys to death, hell and the grave. He has all power! When we have Jesus, the gates of hell cannot prevail against us. If we could fully grasp the power behind the name of Jesus and how it applies within us, we would have great boldness. It is so important that we do not lose the name. We must keep the name of Jesus in all we do. If we let go of the name, we let go of his power. We will just be a religion. We must be a people of the name of Jesus. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he waited 4 days because the Jews said it would be impossible to raise a man from the dead after 3 days. When he did it, he called out Lazarus name, because if he did not, all the dead would have come back to life. Jesus has authority over everything. That same power and authority lives within you and I when you are filled with his spirit. Bro. Stoneking said that if we wanted the boldness to speak the name of Jesus, that the mantle was waiting to fall. The alter was packed. I'm not ashamed of the name of Jesus. I know who I am in Christ and that when I speak his name there will be results. I stand on the name of Jesus, for in his name is all power. In his name there is peace and healing. In Jesus there is unspeakable joy. There is power in the name of Jesus! God is good.

Hello Snow Day

This morning we were greeted with our world covered in snow. RJ woke up and started his normal morning routine not even realizing that the snow he hoped for had come. When Bob told him, he was so excited and happy. He was given a snow day. He and his dog, Mozart, ran out to play in the soft snow. Thankfully, it was not too much and when the snow stopped, the sun shone warmly. I stayed inside since I am still not feeling well. However, I did take some pictures. God is good.

The Be Attitudes

As I posted earlier, I am not feeling well. My husband took notes of tonight's Bible Lesson taught by Bro. Joe Ferragamo. I like to call him a meat and potatoes preacher. Bob said tonight was more like prime rib and mashed potatoes. He took some detailed notes and being the awesome husband he is, typed them out for me. Please read and be blessed. God is good. The “Be Attitudes” Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” At the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus was giving his disciples instructions that contained promises. Here, he tells them that the meek shall inherit the earth. Meekness is a Christian “attitude”. It is the way a Christian should “be”. Meekness is a Christian characteristic. Meekness is a Kingdom principle. This characteristic and principle is contrary to human nature. The lines of distinction between the church and world are becoming increasingly blurred. In times past, people called sin “sin”. Today, people call sin “an alternative”. People want Jesus to be the savior of their soul, but they do not want Him to be the Lord of their lives. It is our Christian lifestyle of holiness and truth that will lead those seeking truth to become part of the Church in the last days. It is the attitude of Jesus that that distinguishes the Church from the world, and Jesus expects his children to live and practice these attitudes. This can only be accomplished with the help of the Holy Spirit. Jesus says “Blessed” are the meek. Blessedness is a fundamental characteristic of God, and it is the nature of God’s Kingdom. Blessedness is promised to the child of God, and it can only be experienced in its fullest sense by a child of God. “Blessedness” is not “Happiness”. Happiness is based upon circumstances. Blessedness is contentment in God regardless of circumstances. The beatitudes are not personality traits. They are part of God’s nature. The beatitudes are progressive. They are contrary to human nature and so we are naturally weak in these areas and we must strive to grow in them. The beatitudes show us the distinction between human nature and the nature of God. The beatitudes set the standard that God wants us to strive for. Matthew 5:5 teaches us that “the meek shall inherit the earth”. Even the animal kingdom teaches us the opposite of this statement. In this world it is “survival of the fittest” and even the animals know that the most powerful will win. That is exactly why God teaches us to be meek. It is because God is growing us in His power, and because God’s power is supreme, it becomes certain that his children will, in fact, survive and inherit the earth. In the 1960s, the leader of Russia, Nikita Krushchev, banged his shoe on a table and said “we will bury you” and “we will not fire a shot”. What he meant was that communism would conquer us not with wars and fighting, but by changing our thinking. Islamic radicals are trying to change the way the world thinks. God does not operate on this principle. God wants us to change our thinking to think like He thinks. The only we can think like God is if we totally surrender ourselves to Him. Meekness is not weakness! It is the opposite of arrogance. It is power tempered by gentleness. The Christian is very strong, but meekness places the Christian’s power and authority under control. Abraham is an example of meekness. He was very rich and powerful, and he possessed the authority of God’s power, but he let Lot choose the land he would like. Lot’s wealth came from Abraham, and Abraham was the elder of the two, yet Abraham knew that whatever decision Lot made, Abraham would remain in God’ path, and his trust in God made him meek toward his nephew. Moses was the leader of Israel, and he possessed God’s authority, but every time the people rose up against Moses, he pleaded for the people. That was meekness. Jesus was Lord of all things and yet he showed great meekness. When people asked if He was the Messiah, he answered “Thou sayest”. When Judas betrayed Jesus, Jesus called him “friend”. When Jesus was dying on the cross, he prayed for God to forgive his killers. Jesus was the perfect example of meekness. He had unlimited power, which he kept under perfect control. Jesus said we shall inherit the earth. Because Jesus is the heir of all things, and because we are joint heirs with Christ, we too shall inherit all things. Sick Day

I have not been feeling well, so I stayed home from church tonight. Bob said he was going to take notes, if he was able to do so, I will post them tomorrow or later tonight. It's that time of the year when the flue bug likes to travel around. Hopefully, no one else in my home catches it. Word from the weather man is that snow is on the way..who knows maybe RJ will get another snow day tomorrow. God is good.

MLK Dreams

Today there was a late assembly at RJ's school about Martin Luther King Jr. The kids did a great job as always. It was nice to hear the children express their hopes and dreams. Some were silly while others showed  a depth of compassion for humankind. I'm thankful for what I heard today. I'm thankful RJ is a part of a wonderful school that focuses on the whole child. If MLKjr had been in the audience today he would have seen some of his dream coming to life in full swing. Our nation has come a long way and still has a ways to go. God is good.

The Love Bug 2016

In our house on February 1st, the Love Bug pays a visit. She bakes cookies and decorates the house in valentine d├ęcor. It's simple and very exciting for RJ. This year The Love Bug arrived and filled the house with hearts and sweet love notes. I'm glad he still becomes excited about The Love Bug. She will continue to visit as long as he is excited about it. God is good.

So It Begins

Most of Americans at this present moment have their eyes on Iowa. From today forward and over the next few months, Americans will be using their free right to vote. Their voices will be heard on who they feel is the best candidate to run for The President Of The United States Of America. When NY's turn comes, I will gladly cast my ballot. RJ has already made his choice and I have no doubt if he was 18, Trump would receive his vote. I still at this time have not made a decision. I am looking and praying about each candidate running. I won't share with you who my final decision is, since I don't want to influence anyone in their decision. I do urge everyone to vote. The beauty of America is the freedom to have your voice heard. Regardless of who wins, I know God is in control and he will have his way. God is good.
