Passion 10.3.2015

For a while now the youth group from my church, known as the BYG, have been preparing for a concert taking place October 3rd 2015 at 7pm. This past Sunday, they sang two songs to give a hint for what they have been preparing for. From what I saw and heard, I have no doubt that the concert is going to be an amazing one. I love the BYG and I can't help but cry when I see them giving their all for Christ. So many youth in this day and age are rebelling against the things of God. This world is becoming so dark and when I see them , I have hope. They are not ashamed to shine bright for Jesus Christ. They are not ashamed to share their Passion for God. I am looking forward to hearing them sing. If you are in the area, please come and be blessed by the BYG. By the way, in my opinion, they can sing circles around Beyoncé, Mariah,Bieber,Swift and all the other present day singers. Don't believe me, come and hear for yourself, you will be glad you did. God is good.

Interrupting RJ

Sometimes at night after we say our prayers and read the Bible, RJ wants me to stay in the room and tell him a story. I create adventures of three little friends who along their way learn a Bible lesson. I try to weave in a story that he may not know yet. Tonight's story was about Samson. Of course I should have know that he knew the story. In fact he corrected me because I left something out. RJ knows the Bible and is not afraid to stand upon the word of God. I'm thankful for this. God is good.

Eclipse & Blood Moon

Last night we allowed RJ to stay up and watch the Lunar Eclipse and Blood Moon. We drove to the church parking lot and were awed by the magnificence of the "show". None of us have ever seen a total eclipse and to have it followed by a blood moon was a real treat. I could not get over the beauty of the transformation and it was almost as if I was in a dream. I felt a sense of excitement and had a hard time going to sleep last night. All I could think of was that if God was awesome enough to put on a show like that, how much more is he going to do in my life? Such beauty and precision and perfect timing. It was outstanding to see and I'm so glad we were able to watch it. God is good.

Repent And Be Converted

I think today was the most fired up I have ever seen my pastor. He was preaching in such a way that it reminded my husband of when Bishop Davis preached. It was an old time type of preaching that was not meant to stroke the ego of those in attendance. His text was from Acts 3:19-23 and James 5:19-20. His title was," Repent And Be Converted". His sermon was not really for the new saint, but for those who say they are Christians, but do not live a converted life. The secular church of today do not want religion to cramp their lifestyle. The "grace" they live under allows them to do what they want to do. They pick and choose from the Bible what they like and leave out the rest. They are the unconverted convert. When you truly are a convert of Christ, it should reflect in your life, the way you look and what you do when no one is looking. Without a true conversion there is no depth in your relationship with Christ. God's word says that we are to come out from among the world and be separate. If you look and act like the rest of the world, you have not truly converted to being a follower of Christ. You can sing the right way, jump, shout and not be truly converted to God. The present way of thinking is that we are a democracy in the Kingdom of God. We read in Psalm 103:19, 29:10 that His kingdom rules over all. Jesus is King and Lord of all. When you are a Christian you no longer are a slave to sin, you are servant to Jesus Christ, King over all. Your opinion or what you think or don't think, does not matter. What matter and what stands true over time is God's word. There is only one way to salvation and its Acts 2:38. If you don't like it, then you are in disobedience to the word of God, not to the person reading it to you. There is one Lord, one Faith and one Baptism. When you are converted and get on your knees in prayer you can impact those around you. If you are not fully converted and try to please those around you, they will began to change you. Holiness in lifestyle, dress and behavior matter. Pastor then gave the history of how in the early 1500's there was a movement for holiness and a drawing near to the things of God. It literally changed the world of those who were seeking Christ. Then a new doctrine came out in the 1800's that changed what God's word said indicating you could live like the world and still be under the grace of God. This is not biblical. Romans 6:12-15 tells us to not let sin have dominion over your life. We are to be servants of righteousness. We must let God's word be true and every man a liar. When you live a converted life you are able to pray for others and they can be delivered. When you repent and are converted, there is a true change in direction. You are doing more than saying you are sorry, you are literally changing your life and walking in a new direction. When you are converted and Christ lives in you, everything in your life changes. Satan's greatest trap is to have you yoked to those who are not converted to Christ. One choice can have an impact on the generations to come. We must stand up and not be ashamed to be a Christian. Be a bold follower of Christ. Live a life of holiness unto the Lord. Be a light in a dark world. Repent and be converted! We are all a work in progress. God does not make trash, he has created you for something amazing. Give him your all, he has greatness in store for you. God is good.

Celebrations

Today was the annual Founders Day at the school RJ attends. He and Ross had a good time running around and jumping on all the Bouncy "houses" that were lined up. One particular one as an obstacle course. You had to jump from one point to another to get to the other side. RJ kept falling off at the second mark, but refused to give up and kept trying. With great triumph, he conquered the obstacle course and made it across without falling. He was so excited that he made it and was so glad he didn't give up. To celebrate, he devoured a very delicious waffle from the Waffles and Dinges waffle truck. Victory tasted very sweet today. When the event ended, the boys went home and I headed to celebrate the soon coming birth of a precious baby boy. This couple means a lot to me and I have no doubt their little boy will be loved a great deal. All in all it was a wonderful day. God is good.

Disney Gets Deep

I'm a girly girl who likes Disney princess movies. I don't watch them very often since I'm literally the only female in this house. Tonight, RJ wanted to watch a Disney movie with me, he thought it would be nice to watch something I liked for a change. I appreciated that and Ross graciously joins us. RJ being the deep thinker he was, had lots to say when the movie was over. After our prayer and Bible reading,he started to list the morals from the ones he had seen. I listened to my 7 year old break down the moralistic points of each in one sentence. When he was done, he fell asleep. He has always been a deep thinker and I look forward to watching him grow as a person. God is good.

Back To School 2015

Tonight was Back To School Night at RJ's school. I can't believe my boy is in 3rd grade. We have known his teacher since he was 3 years old, so this year is a special one for us. He adores her and after being in her classroom, I can see why. Her classroom is filled with warmth and feels like you are walking into a big hug. We feel confident that RJ will thrive under her care and guidance. This year is also a year with a new Head of School (Principal). She is going to take the school to a new level and I'm really looking forward to what is to come. Bob and I left feeling good inside with the choice we made to have RJ attend this school. 3rd grade is going to be a year of academic soaring for RJ. God is  good.

The Midnight Hour

Today we received a phone call with a cry for help. This person had a sister who was in the hospital dying from cancer. She wanted desperately to make her life right with God before she died. Bro. Joe, my husband and I drove to the hospital to pray for her. When we arrived, the room was filled with family. They appreciated that we came to pray with her. It was clear she was at deaths door. We stood by her side and prayed with her. Bro. Joe and Bob took great care to minister to her. She was aware that we were there and was making an effort. We then prayed with the family for God to give them peace and comfort. At her midnight hour, God came and met her in the hospital room. You could feel his presence and the peace of God surround her. The grace and mercy of God amazes me. It is never too late to call out to God, he will answer. God is good.

This Little Light

It's interesting how a flicker of light makes the darkness disappear. Hope is the light that shines from a lit candle in your darkest hour. I can be in a room filled with chaos and have the peace of God surround me. The boat called life is rocking right now, I checked, Jesus is resting and his light is shining bright. I think I'm going to go rest in him and let his light cover me. God is good.

Briskness

Today, I woke up to the briskness of Fall. I love this time of the year. It's a little cool, so you need to break out a light sweater or hoodie. If I could choose, I would just have 3 seasons and skip winter. RJ loves winter. I think he spends more time outside in the snow, then he does in the sunshine. It's funny since he hates to be super cold. Regardless, I'm enjoying the feeling of Autmnn in the air. God is good.

Roads

The roads of life take you down some interesting pathways. Right now, the road we are on literally has us traveling a lot between NY and NJ. While my mother-in-law is in rehabilitation, we will be visiting as much as possible. This road has allowed me to spend a lot of good quality time with my sister-in-love Jen. I'm loving our coffee chats. Today in church Bro. Hanscom talked about a different road. This road is the one that leads you to the alter of sacrifice. This road is one that must be a decision to live for God or not. This road is if you are willing to give God everything. No matter who you are in life, you have to continue on the road given to you. As I have said before, God does things that at the moment do not make sense. How we travel it is up to us. I'm just the passenger, Jesus is in control. God is good.

Grammy's Garden

We are in NJ to visit my mother-in-law known as Grammy to her grandchildren. Thankfully, she has been moved from the hospital to a physical therapy location. We are thankful that she is doing so well. Grammy loves her garden, so I took some pictures today to show her all was going well. We hope she comes home soon, I miss seeing her in her garden. God is good.

Pencils Have Erasers

Tonight the topic of making mistakes came up. RJ was expressing his opinion on this. He doesn't like to make mistakes. We were telling him that everyone makes mistakes. Bob then told him he could prove it. RJ asked how and the reply was that every pencil has an eraser. RJ was quiet and he said, "Not color pencils". God is good.

God's Triumphant Church Part 4

Unfortunately, I missed part 3 of the outstanding lesson Bro. Jonathan Walker has been teaching on Thursday nights, due to RJ being sick. Tonight was the last part of the series. I was really glad when he did a brief review, so I will share the review with you and his lesson as well. Normally, I keep my blog short, this one will be on the longer side. I have to say this lesson was a true masterpiece and we truly enjoyed and grew from it. I'm not sure if he will read this, but if he does, I say thank you for teaching with such conviction a lesson that is much needed in this present day and age. If you call yourself a Christian, you need to read these lessons. Quick Review: Hebrews 8:10 shows us that we have a covenant with God. I Peter 2:9 shows we have a royal identity in Christ. II Peter 1:4 lets us know that we have access to the grace and precious promises of God. We know from Revelation 14:14-16, we are in the day of the soon coming of the Lord. What was prophesied is coming to past. We are a part of God's triumphant church and it cannot fail. When the church cries ABBA-Father, we are doing so much more than just calling Him "Dad". The binding covenant between God and His people 'Ecclesia' was not limited in His destined plan to Israel only. (Amos 9:12, Jeremiah 31:31, Joel 2:28). In the New Testament we know this was to be actualized starting with the declaration of his name Jesus, literally meaning "Yahweh Save” (Matthew 1:21) which is the Hebrew name of God in the Old Testament. This is where the importance of II Corinthians 5:19 is paramount. If we miss this verse, we miss it all. Jesus to every New Testament writer, was the guarantor of the New Testament Covenant, this is why we evoke the Powerful Name of Jesus in baptism (Acts 2:28-39). The name of Jesus substantiates the covenant transaction we read about in ACTS 4:12. Abba-Father is so powerful. It was an expression of the early Apostolic Church used to celebrate the power of the new covenant relationship with God. Side note: Bro. Walker used excerpts from David Norris' commentary. Abba-Father is an Aramaic word that simply means papa or a term of endearment that a child would say to their Father- this shows the blood bond and covenant relationships. We read in Romans 8:15-16 and Galatians 4:6-7 that the covenant we have is as a child of the king, should not change our paradigm of how we approach representing his church: The called out ones; no longer a servant, but now a son/daughter of God! He then explained that the Greek word used for Abba was in reference to crying out in another tongue- which is the evidence of the Holy Ghost-speaking in other tongues. We are heirs of God! The son develops a similar nature to his father, a servant does not. The son now has a father, where a servant has a master. The son now obeys out of love, while the servant obeys out of fear (Romans 5:5, John 14:15). The son of a king is now wealthy, while the servant remains poor (Ephesians 1:7, Ephesians2:7). The son now has a future, while the servant does not (I John 3:1-3,I Peter 1:1-5). The church was built on historical sacrifice that gave us the freedom we have today. In Oxford, England there is a place called Broad Street. Weber writes in his book, “Four Pillars of a Man's Heart" about coming across a path of light stones in the middle of dark stones. These stones were in the shape of a cross and lead to a monument from the year 1555. During the reighn of Queen Mary Tudor or as many know here, Bloody Mary, there were two Christians who were taking a stand. She was angry and ordered them to be burned at the stake. As Hugh Latimer was walking to be burned he turned to Nicholas Ridley and said, “Be of good cheer, Ridley, Play the Man, we shall this day light a candle by God’s grace, as I trust shall never be put out." He was referring to Polycarp who was a Christian Martyr in the Roman colosseum. When he was released to be killed, an audible voice that thousands could hear encouraged him to be of good courage. These men died for the cause of Christ. In this present day in China, thousands are turning their life to Christ on a daily bases. In the book Megashift, it is said that Chinese Underground Pastors network by asking 3 simple questions. How many are saved, how many new churches are planted and how many years have you spent in prison. They are risking their life to share the gospel of Jesus Christ! By this time of the lesson, you could feel the presence of God. If you know anything about me, you will know that I love and have a heart for Chinese people. I stopped writing my notes, because tears were streaming down my face. For the cause of Christ they are willing to die. Bro. Walker asked us to think about some things. How much do we love God's church? (Ephesians 3:19, 2 Corinthians 8:8,Collosians 3:2) What can you do with your life to advance God's church? (Ephesians 3:20, Hebrews 10:23-25) Would you be willing to die for the Gospel of Jesus Christ? (Philippians 1:24, Romans 14:8) Who saves his life will lose it, who loses his life will save it. God's church is triumphant regardless of what comes at it. In this present day and age, it's time for the church to shine brighter than ever before. We started and ended our lessons singing an old song, "Victory in Jesus", you can listen to it here. Bro. Walker also mentioned in his notes a song called, "Worth" by Anthony Brown. You can listen to it here.God is good.

Leeches And Spit

The older RJ becomes, the more interesting our conversations become. Tonight it was just the two of us for our nightly devotions. He was very chatty and we were discussing how he been sick, but is finally staring to feel better. We talked about how "back in the day", the doctor used leeches in an attempt to suck out an infection. He quickly became more than happy to take his cough medicine. He prefered that over a leech any time. Then we talked about how Jesus is a healer and sometims, he had strange ways of doing things. He could heal with a touch or just the spoken word. One time, he spit on the ground and made mud. RJ was very grossed out by that one. The man didn't care how Jesus healed him, he just wanted to be healed. His ways are perfect, even if it's not how we would expect it to be. God is good.

Walking In Peace

I was thinking today about life as a Christian. If you have read my blog you know that my mother-in-law was in a very bad accident. She is making great progress and moved from the ICU to a regular room. I have full confidence that God is with her. In the middle of all the shock and things swirling around us, there was a foundation of peace. Christ truly is the solid rock that I stand upon. In the back of my mind the storms of life are raging and I can still sleep in peace. God is in control of this storm. It may not make sense, but I rest in him. God is good.

Progress

I have been hearing bits and pieces in regards to how my mother-in-law is doing. The doctors are saying its a miracle that she is alive. The last I heard, she was eating applesauce and should be going to physical therapy soon. The road ahead is a long one,but I know God is with her and the prayers of many are covering her. God is good.

Prayers For Grammy

The phone rang and I answered it like any other day. This time, the news on the other line was not something I wanted to hear. My Mother-in-law had been in a very serious car accident. We didn't know much, but that it was pretty bad. Bob and I immediately got in the car and drove to the hospital in NJ. Ross stayed home with RJ. As we were on our way, Joe would call us with updates. Each call was with more bad news. When we arrived, she was in surgery and all we could do was pray and wait. The surgeon came out and told us all went well. She was awake and talking. God was so gracious in preserving her life and guiding the sergons hands. I won't go into detail on what her injuries are. I just ask that you pray for her. She is in ICU and is awake and knows who is speaking to her. These simple things are miracles from God. I know she is in the saving hands of God and we rest in this. God is able and God is good.

Birthday Dinner

Since Ross was home today, the plan was to go out for dinner to celebrate my birthday together as a family. Unfortunately, RJ did not go to school today because he was not feeling well and we didn't think it was a good idea to go out. Instead, we stayed in and had dinner and watched a movie of my choice. All three boys endured watching a very girly Disney movie with me. We ate Thai food and enjoyed the antics of Tangled. It's a rare moment, when we are watching something that is girly. It was GREAT! God is good.

What A Birthday

Today is my birthday.  When I woke up this morning I walked into the dinning room to see that my husband had lit candles around birthday presents. It was super romantic. RJ woke up soon after I did and he sat with us to have a birthday "coffee" together (this made him late for school, oops). After coffee, I opened my presents. Each gift was an example of how well my husband and RJ have been listening and paying attention to me. You know those every day things, the little details. Each gift showed this in a big way. During the day, it was so nice to read the social media postings, texts as well as the phone calls filled with birthday wishes. Since it is a church night and Ross has been in school all day, we plan to have a birthday dinner together this weekend.  Thus, tonight at dinner time, to my great delight Bob came in with flowers, a card and a yummy cake. He really wowed me this year.  My mom and California family also sent such wonderful gifts. If you don't already know one of my love languages is gifts. I get such joy out of giving to someone. I wish I could have ended my day at church tonight, but RJ was coughing so much I decided to stay home with him. Being a mom is an every day gift. I don't mind staying home to take care of him and pray he feels better soon. To make the day so much better, my childhood friend ( we have the same birthdate) gave great news today. She has been waiting for a set of lungs and today, she received new lungs! All is going well for her. Such a wonderful day. I'm thankful for another year and for the love from my family. God has been so kind to me. God is good.

First Day of 3rd Grade

Today, RJ was well enough to attend school. He was a bit drowsy due to his medication, but looking forward to school . When I picked him up, he said it was a good day, he loves his teacher and he thinks 3rd grade is going to be a great year. I agree. We love his teacher and know it's going to be a great year for him. How do I know this, he couldn't wait to do his assigned 20 minutes of reading. God is good.

Missed Day

Last night RJ woke up with a fever, thus he was not able to attend the first day of 3rd grade. He woke up wanting to go to school, but I knew he needed to stay home. He has been fever free and the doctor said he can go to school tomorrow. I'm sad he missed the first day of 3rd grade. He now has a very bad cough. Please say a prayer that he's able to sleep through the night and wakes up feeling great in the morning. God is good.

A Good Summer

Today I was thinking over this summer. I can't believe it's over and I'm amazed at the things we did in such a short amount of time. It started out a bit rocky, since I was not feeling well and the doctors thought I had MS. Thankfully that was not the case. We had a lot of fun times in NJ and followed that with a trip,to TN to see my mom. I love time spent with her. When we returned home, we hopped on a plane with the BYG and attended life changing services at North American Youth Congress in Oklahoma. When we arrived  home, we did the touristy thing with visiting family in NYC. The last two weeks or so,have been spent relaxing and getting ready for school. Tomorrow, RJ will be starting 3rd grade. He's starting off with a bang since a baby tooth fell out tonight before he went to bed. I'm looking forward to this new school year and the soon coming autumn  season. As far as winter goes, I can wait, in fact, let's just skip it all together and go straight to spring. All in all, it's been a wonderful summer and 3rd grade here we come!

The Broken Arms Of The Enemy

Today we had a guest speaker. The first time I heard Rev. Jimmy Toney speak, was at North American Youth Congress. He preached a sermon," We Are Giants". My boy was only 3 at the time, but he still remembers the impact of that sermon on the young people. He got the message and never forgot that in God he is a Giant. Unfortunately, he fell asleep during church today and missed the entire sermon. He missed the excitement of Bro Toney waving a sword in the air, not to mention, he missed an outstanding sermon. There are some preachers that are good preachers and God still does what he needs to do. Then there are preachers like Bro. Toney who come with an anointing that breaks the atmosphere. He preached with authority filled faith and God responded to his faith today. His sermon was entitled, "The Broken Arms Of The Enemy", and he preached from Ezekiel 30:21-25. I will do my best to share his sermon with you, however, I don't think I will be able to do it the justice it deserves. When we are born, we have over 200 bones in our body. 64 are upper body bones. These bones give our hands the strength to grasp something or to let go of something. Our hands can be gentle or they can be strong. The arms are so much more. They help us do the heavy lifting and moving. We read in the Bible of the arm of God, the hand of God and the finger of God. We read about them in Luke 11:20, I Peter 5:6 and Isiah 52:10. God is so powerful that he defeats the devil with the flick of his finger. Just like that the enemy is defeated. God's power can break any curse, heal any sickness and destroy the yokes of bondage. We must remember that no weapon formed against us will prosper. When we read Ezekiel, we read about how powerful God is. He was very angry at the Pharaoh of Egypt whose name was, Aphesis. His name stood for possessor of strong arms. God could have just said, he was going to eliminate Pharaoh, instead he said he was going to break his arms. If the arms are broken, they can no longer hold the sword (cue in sword Bro. Toney had in his hands) and will drop it (he dropped the sword). When the arms of the enemy are broken, there is no longer any power to fight against you. Our enemy, can be addiction, a situation, or anything that is fighting against you. The devil knows that if he can break the arms of the church, the church will be defeated. If he can break your arms and get you to drop your sword (God's word), that you can be defeated. Instead under the power of God, the things that hold you back can be broken. God will make sure both arms of your struggles are broken so that you are an overcomer. If you hold on the word of God, the word of God will hold on to you. It does not matter how strong the enemy is in your life, God can break the strongest area of it. God wants you to have complete victory. The power of God became very strong and he had everyone stand. He asked us to shout out, “It’s Broken." My notes stop there. It was almost as if you could hear "chains" in people’s life, breaking and falling to the ground. God was breaking people free of addiction. He was healing people of sickness and disease. God was breaking generational curses. God was healing broken hearts and minds. No matter who we are, we all have something that has a "hold" on us. God wants to break both arms of it and remove the sword used to destroy you. With God you are an overcomer and he completely delivers you. God is good.

A Feast

We were invited to have dinner with a family from our church. Tonight, when we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and the whiff of delicious Chinese food. I could not get over all the different foods they prepared. Every bite I took, reminded me of Taiwan. I looked around at everyone as they laughed and ate. We were a very diverse group of people who were all a part of the family of God. It seemed to me for a moment, that I caught a glimpse of the marriage supper of the Lamb. All brought together by one thing in common, our love for Jesus Christ. My belly and tastebuds were thrilled, above that, my soul was filled to overflowing. I'm so thankful for the family to God. God is good.

Light and Fluffy

I wanted to write about something that was light and fluffy. Sometimes when I look at the news headlines, I get a sense of sorrow and want to save the world. I can not do that, however I can focus on the little world I live in. I came across a blog that talked about how your main focus at times (for moms) is to be on your children. Yes, we want to run out and save everybody. Stop, look in the mirror and realize, you can't. You can focus on your kids and be there when they need you and even when they don't need to. So, I sat here and thought what is light and fluffy right here in my house. Well, light and fluffy is cuddling with my little boy. Light and fluffy is petting my dog and giving him a treat. Light and fluffy is a mouthful of something sweet. Light and fluffy is a peck on the cheek from my husband as he passes by, just because. Light and fluffy are the things we tend to take for granted. Tonight, I am going to enjoy all the light and fluffy taking place in my house. God is good.

God's Triumphant Church Part 2

Today we had part two of the lesson, "God's Triumphant Church", being taught by Bro. Walker. Tonight's focus was on what the church is. His main scriptures were Genesis 49:10,Colossians 1:17-18,Ephesians 1:4-10,Matthew 26:28,Acts 20:28,John 17:11-17,20-23,Ephesians 1:21-23, 2:19-22,5:25-30, I Corinthians 12:13,II Corinthians 11:2-4 and Ephesians 4:1-6. He also pointed out I Kings 8:27, Acts 7:46-50, Ephesians 1:4-21, Ephesians 2:19-22 and John 15:16. I have to say that tonight's lesson was even better than the first one. Once again, it was in perfect parallel to current events that took place today. We know that without a doubt, God's church is triumphant. In the Bible you will see God's church referred to as an Ecclesia-The called out ones. The church is never referred to as a building or physical structure. It is made up of a body of believers. If you read the scriptures, you would realize that we are fulfilling Biblical Prophecy. Solomon knew even when he was building the temple, that it could not hold the presence of God. He knew that God was not to be confined to a building. We read in Acts about Stephen who was the first martyr of the church. Before he was stoned to death, he preached that God did not dwell in a house, but that Heaven was his throne and the earth was his footstool. No matter what, God was omnipresent. When Paul preached to the Greeks, he was speaking to the Epicureans and Stoics. He knew they prayed to an unknown God and used their own poetry to tell them who the one true God was. We see from the beginning that God has his mind on us. Jesus didn't intend to start a religion, he wanted the freedom of salvations plan for millions, the church of the living God. True revival happens when the church, from a Biblical reality, starts seeing and actualizing itself as the Representation of Christ's body on this earth. We hold a paramount importance for the last day revival. When you attach yourself to the body of Christ and become the church, you attach yourself to victory. Jesus was thinking about you and he chose you while in the Garden of Gethsemane. God has a plan from the beginning to the end of your life. He allows you to make the choice on the path you are going to take. You can make the choice to walk in him and live a life for him. He loves you, he paid the price of adoption for you with his blood he shed on Calvary. Know this, that if you are the church of the living God and he resides in you, those that hate him will hate you. If you have been paying attention to the news today, you are aware of a Christian women who has been arrested for standing on her religious beliefs. She is a part of the church of the living God. I believe she is the first of many, if America does not come to its senses. If you are a part of the body of Christ, I challenge you, do not be afraid, stand for the word of God! Remember you are a part of God's triumphant church. You are his hands, you are his feet, and you are his voice. Share his love and gospel. Be the church of the living God! God is good.

The Embarrassed Bread

This past Friday we attended a Sabbath dinner with one of our friends who is an Orthodox Jew. When we sat down for dinner, he brought to the table some wine and a basket with bread. The challah bread was covered with a cloth. He poured the wine into a large cup and then poured the wine from that cup into a smaller cup. This cup had an opening that then ran down into smaller cups. All I could think as I watched it pour down was of the blood Jesus shed on Calvary. As he is pouring the wine, he blesses it. When he was done, he mentioned to us that he had to cover the bread before he poured the wine. When he took the cloth off, we saw that there were two loaves of challah bread. They represented the days of manna that the children of Israel gathered during their time in the wilderness. The bread had to be covered, so that it would not be ashamed or embarrassed. The bread represented the life of the earth. Of all the food on the earth, no food is more holy than the bread. For every Jewish meal, a prayer is prayed to bless God who brings forth bread from the earth. Only at the Sabbath, do they bless the wine first, therefore, the bread is covered. This covering symbolises the importance of not embarrassing one's fellow man on earth. Under the Jewish laws of God, to embarrass or shame someone in public is a sin that is equal to murder. Embarrassing another person in public is the same in the eyes of God as shedding that man's blood. I then asked what the wine represented and he looked at me and said he didn't know, just that it was very important. In my minds eye, I could see Jesus hanging on the cross shedding his blood. His body, the bread of life, hanging with his blood pouring down for you and I. I know why the bread is covered, because God wanted His people to know that He was wounded for our transgressions. He took on the ultimate shame to cover my sins. I'm so thankful for Calvary. God is good.

Plates for SFC

Last year for Sheaves For Christ, RJ spent an entire summer (with the help of Ross) tumbling Cape May Diamonds. He raised around $1,300. He still has some left and if you are interested you may purchase them. This year, he wanted to do something different. He is making "china". He is drawing various things on paper china plates. The one you see him holding in the picture posted is of an underground church in China. Most of his drawings are Christian related, some are just random things he felt like drawing. Already, he has sold 5 of them. The asking price is $1.00 and of course an amount above that is welcomed. 100% of what he raises will go directly to SFC. If you are interested in purchasing one of his drawings or his Cape May Diamonds from last year, please e-mail me at c2cchick@gmail.com. If you want to know more about what SFC is, you can read about it here.God is good.
