Today was a Daddy Day. Bob took RJ to breakfast and then they went to the Museum of Natural History in the city. RJ was super excited to see the Dinosaur bones and all the animals. He came home super excited. I'm thankful for a husband who takes time out from his busy schedule to give his boy a Daddy Day. God is good.

I do my best to make Friday, date day with RJ. We used to go to the same Starbucks, but when they stopped selling his beloved coffee cake, we started to venture out to new places. Presently, he likes to go to Barnes & Noble. In times past when we went, I usually read the books to him and he showed no interest in trying to read them on his own. Then came 1st grade and his teacher, who we still think is an Angel. She with the other staff helped raise RJ's confidence. He went from saying he could not read, to reading everything in sight. Today, I held back happy tears as I watched and listened to my son read with confidence outloud. He didn't care who heard him and was very into his books as he read them. One teacher made all the difference in the world. Her love for the students and her love for reading was transferred into my son. I took a short video clip and sent it to her today, to thank her for what she had done. Teachers today have it so hard. So much pressure to focus on test scores and all the other things that come with teaching. We are grateful for the power of a positive teacher who came into RJ's life. She is a treasure to us and we are forever grateful to her. RJ has come leaps and bounds and is reading more and more. God is good. Tomorrow is the last day of the fast, it is skip one meal.

Tonight Pastor Davis taught part three of his lesson, “Adonai Lord of All". To refresh, Adonai means that God is the sovereign Lord. He is the master of all masters and the ultimate authority in the universe. Last week we learned that he is Omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and holy. Tonight the focus was on how God is Immutable. He is unchangeable, unalterable, invariable, not susceptible or subject to change. We as humans can be fickle and change with the wind. God does not ever change. The opinions of men do not change God nor do the laws of man change God. Deuteronomy 32:4 tells us that God is our rock, he is dependable. God is immutable in his essence. God has been in existence and will always be in existence. We read in Psalms 90:2 that he is from everlasting to everlasting. We exist in time, but God is in the past, present and the future. God came from nowhere and he always was. This is hard for us to comprehend at times, because we live in time. We must realize that God does what he wants, when he wants. There are times when he will do something that is not how we want it to be, God is God. Deuteronomy 32:39-40 declares to us that he lives forever. He is the great I AM. He is immutable in character. God is who he is at all times and all circumstances. He is immutable in his eternal purpose. God's unchanging eternal purpose, gives us eternal significance. If there was no God our existence would be the same as a slug in the mud. He knew us before the foundations were laid in the earth. God knows where you are, where you are going and where you will be. Nothing takes him by surprise. You were made for a purpose. Lastly, God is immutable in his word, Isaiah 40:8. His words will never pass away. God's law never changes. When we learn to build our life on the foundation of God's word, our life will change. Remember, if God makes a promise, he will keep it. Even if you are no longer living in this life on this earth, he will still keep his promises. Jesus is the answer, he is the way. If you will walk with Jesus, one day everything will be ok. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is skip to meals (health permitting).

Today a box filled with happy gifts arrived. Our Christmas gifts from my family in California came to give us Christmas in January. It was fun to watch RJ get excited over each present. Later, we all opened our gifts. I miss my family and the box for me was a piece of home. Little treasures filled with thought out gifts. Thank you family. We love you. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is Daniels fast.

Yesterday, I mentioned that there were weather predictions of a blizzard. I'm thankful to say that when we awoke, we still had power and there was not as much snow as predicted. We did get about 16 inches of snow. The snow continued into the afternoon. RJ was thrilled and couldn't wait to go play in the fluffy, white snow. He got his snow day and enjoyed it to the fullest. We all went out for a sled ride. Ross and RJ had a snowball fight and started working on an igloo. Most of the time, RJ just rolled in the snow. Later this evening, Bob and I went for a drive and it was strange to see almost all the stores closed. This side of NY, truly had a snow day. Tomorrow we go back to the daily routine of life. I'm thankful for the break and even more thankful that it was not as bad as they predicted it to be. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is skip two meals (health permitting).

If you have been paying attention to the news, you are aware that it has been predicted that we may have the worst snow storm in our history. The snow started around 8am and has not stopped. The wind outside is howling, the trees are swinging back and forth and the snow is coming down hard. In times past I mentioned a stray cat. Tonight, we heard him meowing at the door. We opened the door and he came right in. This was a clear indication that the storm truly is going to be a rough one. To our delight and surprise, he found the warmest spot in the house and layed down. He stayed for about an hour before meowing and asking to leave. We have built a well insulated shelter for him and paw prints indicate, he is using it. It was a short visit, a good one and who knows maybe next time he will stay longer. Tonight, we are together, safe and warm. I pray the power does not go out and that all in the path of the storm are safe. God is good.

Pastor Davis preached an inspiring sermon today. His title was “Raise the Banner". His scripture text was; Exodus 17:8-15, Isaiah 62:10-12 and Psalms 20:5. Pastor first told the story of how our countries Nation Anthem came to be. You can read about it here. A Banner is something that is very important. It is an emblem of an identity of a person or group of people. The standards that come with a banner are a rallying point. Custom banners, flags are standards that have maintained over the ages, they are legends. The skull and crossbones are instantly recognized as a pirate flag/banner. The white flag or banner is known all over the world as a sign of surrender. We read in the book of Exodus the story of Moses and the Israelites leaving Egypt. They were confused, disorientated and still adjusting to their new surroundings. Suddenly without warning the Amalekites attacked. The Amalekites were not just random people coming for a fight, they were cousins. This was an unprovoked attack on Israel. God was so angry at them for doing this that he promised to wipe the Amalekites from the face of the earth. While the battle was raging, Moses took Aaron and Hur to the top of a mountain. They stood on either side of him. The battle was below them in the valley. While they fought, Moses held his rod up over his head. This was the same rod that was used for the 10 plagues, the same rod that was used to part the red sea. This rod represented the power and presence of God. When the rod was lifted, the Israelites prevailed, when his hands grew weary, the Amalekites would begin to win. Aaron and Hur put a rock under Moses and held Moses arms up. This allowed the rod-the banner to stay up high for the Israelites to see. They prevailed against the Amalekites. When the battle was won, Moses built an alter unto the Lord and declared the God was their Jehovanissi. God was their banner! We in the present day need to be aware and to not live in fear. More and more society is fighting against Christian morals and values. There is a fear of speaking what the Bible says, because you will be ridiculed. Do not be afraid, rise up! God is omnipotent and all powerful. His spirit lives within you. He is your Jahovahnissi. Do not be afraid to live a Christ-centered life in a world that shuns a holy life. God is our banner. We must remember it's not by our might or by our power, but by God's spirit that we overcome. We come together and pray, God raises his banner and we will have victory. We can be the one the devil is chasing or we can rise up and fight back. We can take back everything the devil has stolen from us. Rise up, put the armor of the Lord up, raise up the banner of God and don't back down. Live for God in your everyday life, be a light. Do not be afraid to live the Christian life. Remember no matter the situation, God is your Jehovahnissi. I need to share this clip again. This song is my anthem for this year and I'm going to link it again. You can listen to it here. God is good! Tomorrow's fast is Daniel's fast....we in our house are preparing for blizzard that is being reported as a potential record breaker. We are not afraid and are ready for it.

We finally got enough snow for RJ to play in. Thankfuly Bob came home safely this afternoon. He stopped overnight in NJ. Today once the sky cleared, RJ and Ross went outside and decided to build a snow wall. RJ is happy to have enough snow to play in and I'm hoping that's the last of it, even though the weather man predicts more this coming week. Either way, snow came. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is skip one meal.

The snow predicted for earlier this week, was a dusting and not much. The weather is saying a storm is coming tonight. My husband has been traveling all day trying to get home before it hits here. Unfortunately, he has been driving with the storm. He changed his route several times and still is not home. I asked him to please pull over and be safe. In times like these, as a wife, I feel helpless. I can't stop the storm, I can't make him pull over. I can pray. I can trust that God is with him and protecting him. This is such a small thing and I think of Missionaries who live in a "storm" daily. They risk their lives to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Or you can liken the storm to situations in life that surround you and no matter which way you turn, it just doesn't seem to go away. I'm so thankful to know my Jesus. As long as he is with me or in this case with my husband, I will worry not and only trust. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is skip one meal.

A while back Pastor Davis started a lesson on "Adonai Lord of All". The holidays came as well as the church concert, so the next part of the lesson was put on hold. Tonight, he picked up where he left off. The lesson focused on two aspects of the Lord being Adonai. God is Omnipotent-everywhere present. There is nothing that God does not know. He is in the past, the present and the future. This can be hard for us to wrap our minds around at times. He is all powerful, having unlimited power, infinite in strength and unrestricted might. He does whatever he wants to do. He does not do things against his will, nature or character. We read in Exodus that he is the El-Shadai and in Isiah 40:25-28 that he is the creator of all things. God knows all things and is never weary or tired. Everything is subject to God. We are safely in his hands. Even when times are rough, God is in control, we need to put whatever is going on in his hands and let go. We read in Matthew 28:18 that all power is given unto him. There is no power higher than God. It's as easy for God to heal cancer as it is for him to heal a headache. One thing is not harder for him to do than the other. He speaks it and it is so. There is nothing too hard for the Lord, we read that in Jeremiah 32:17. Today the concept of Humanism is very popular. We must realize that all power is given by God and it's not by our own might. All things have and are created by him. We must be confident that God is omnipotent and there is nothing that he cannot do. God is also holy. He is perfection, without a fault, no blemish or shortcomings. God transcendence and perfection sets him above everything else. We read in Deuteronomy 3:2-4 that he is perfect. God is holy. The Bible mentions 50 times that he is holy. His holiness is the most preeminent characteristic, all that he does is holy. He is the full authority and judge. When we say he is Lord of all, is he really Lord of all in your life? Imagine if he was not a holy God. His grace and mercy covers us, because he is holy. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is skip two meals (health permitting).

It would seem that God heard RJ's request fcr snow. Tonight, we are supposed to get about an inch and on Saturday some places are going to get a foot of snow. I think RJ is going to be able to build his snowman after all. We shall see, regardless, he's pretty excited that snow is in the forecast. Tonight, I had the pleasure of having dinner with my friend/sister Christinea. I love our times together. She is a treasure and I am so thankful to God for her friendship. Dinner and laughter is always wonderful. God is good.

We have had some snow this winter, but in RJ's opinion, not enough. Me, I like it for a while and am super glad when it is gone. He really wants a true snow day where he can build a big snowman. Hopefully before the winter is over, his snow day will come. I reminded him that Spring brings much beauty and he became excited over the fact that after Spring comes Summer. With Summer comes visits to the Appalachian Mountains and of course this Summer, also will bring North American Youth Congress. So...I guess it's ok that January is flying by and with it winter. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is skip two meals.

In our Bible reading tonight, something jumped out at me. When Jacob woke up from the dream God had given him, he changed the name of where he was at from Luz to Bethel. I decided to look up what Luz meant. When the word Luz was used, it usually was used in a negative meaning. It had to do with turning away from wisdom or a twisted person. Bethel means a holy place. The presence of God changed the meaning of a place. It was no longer a place lacking wisdom or a place far from God. It was now a holy place. When God comes into our lives, and his spirit dwells inside of us, we turn from being twisted, to being a holy place. Inside of us, a holy place. I can be a vessel where Luz dwells or I can be a place where Bethel dwells. I want to be a Bethel. God is good. Tomorrows fast is total fast from 6am to 6pm (health permitting). Also, tomorrow will be 5 am prayer.

How does one do justice to a service like today? The choir sang “In Jesus Name" by Darleen Zcsech. The place was charged with praise and worship. Then, Bro. Corbin preached an outstanding sermon and I am sure this blog won't do it justice. RJ was asleep on my lap, so I will go from memory and Bob's notes. He started his sermon off by quoting the words to a song the choir sang. Then he had everyone sing it. There is such power to those words:” I will live, I will not die. The resurrection power of Christ Alive in me and I am free In Jesus' Name. God is fighting for us, pushing back the darkness. Lighting up the Kingdom that cannot be shaken..." Bro. Corbin gave the title of “Chosen, Anointed, Witness". He preached from Luke 4:16-22, Acts 1:1-8 and Exodus 30:22-25. He started by talking about when Jesus read from Isiah in the synagogue. There are two phases of anointing. The first comes when you are filled with his spirit and baptized in Jesus name. This is only the first part of the anointing. There is a second part and it does not come easy. We need to seek after God for this anointing. He threw in that everyone should have a prayer room in their home. Before God can take us to the next level, we must be seeking after him and wanting more of him. When this happens, he will pour the oil of anointing, however you can't just get the oil from anywhere. This oil is special and has certain things added to it. Bro. Corbin then began to explain what was in the oil that was poured over the entire head when one was anointed. The entire head was covered, because God then has more than just your brain, he has all of you. It's so important that we dwell in unity. If there is bitterness in the heart and mind then it poisons the word of God that is being heard. The bitterness blocks and distorts the truth as it is being spoken. The oil of anointing had 5 special ingredients. The first is Myrrh, it comes from certain trees. When the trees are cut, they are wounded. From the wound comes the Myrrh. Remember sometimes God allows things to happen, hurts do come. It's in this time of great pain and cutting of our heart that the Myrrh is produced. God may send us to a desert place to produce this outcome. Next is Cinnamon. Cinnamon is very valuable and in order to get it, the outer layer of the tree must be peeled away. When you get to the tender part of the tree, you get to the cinnamon. God will start peeling away things from your life, he is peeling away to get to your heart. Remember, God will never push to the point of breaking you. He will never leave you stranded. He will raise you up. After the Cinnamon, came the Calamus. This can only be found in the marshes. They are scented leaves and you need to wade into the marsh to cut it out. It is a process that takes place. This a time of trusting in God even when you don't understand. You must seek after him. Many times when you reach the Calamus point, you can give up. We must hang on and persevere. The next to last ingredient is Cassia. Cassia is a Chinese Cinnamon. This is most likely the cinnamon we all have in our homes and use on a regular basis. This ingredient comes from lopping off entire branches and then grinding it, you will produce Cassia. God is wanting an entire consecration to him. We must give him everything. This is likened to the Job experience. Even though he lost everything, he still blessed the Lord. The last ingredient is oil from the olive. This is the healing that takes place. All these put together create the oil for anointing. When we are in this process, and God is pouring his anointing on us, we will see that God is fighting for us. He is pushing back the darkness and the enemy in our lives will be defeated. The song the choir sang was the catalyst for his sermon. Sis Corbin put a link to a short video clip of the worship today while the choir was singing. You can view the music video here. God is good. The fast for tomorrow is Daniels Fast.

How do I describe today? Today was the last day of our Prayer and Bible Conference. We heard several sermons and prayed for many things. RJ being 7 and this type of thing new for him, after the first prayer time, turned to me and said:" Well, I'm done, I have prayed about as much as I can pray". Considering this was probably the longest church service he has ever attended, he was well behaved. I am going to focus on one of the sermons preached today. Bro. Corbin preached what was really part two of last night's sermon. He took it another step further and I am going to do my best to bring it to you. There were times, I was so into his preaching that I forgot to take notes. His main scriptures that he preached from was Jeremiah 8:19-22 and II Chronicles 7:12-14. God is always speaking to us, we need to learn to listen. There are times when God will shut the windows of heaven to where there is no rain. When this happens, we need to pray for God to help our minds to stay in line with his will and to trust him anyway. We need to realize that sometimes his answer is no or not now. We can become impatient and God will remind us that he came to seek and to save that which was lost. God cares about the souls and lives of mankind. When we are inbetween the porch and the alter we need to be broken and humble before the Lord. If we do not humble ourselves, God will humble us. When we humble ourselves, God is able to move on our behalf. God will flip our world upside down. He wants us to be about his will, his purpose and his passion. The first step is to position ourselves in a position of humility, this is to be done physically and spiritually. When there is pride in our life, it will lead to destruction. He is the king and he has a spirit of humility. We do not need to be fighting our brother or our sister. We need to lay down our swords and remember they are not our enemy, the devil is our enemy. When we submit ourselves to God, we are resisting the devil. There is only one throne and one king and that is Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. We need to glorify the name of Jesus, seek his kingdom to come, forgive, trust in him, ask God to forgive us, seek to not enter into temptation and end with praise. These things are to be kingdome minded. We must realize that if we do not have forgiveness towards another and we pray for God to forgive us as we forgive others, we are telling God to not give us forgiveness. We must humble ourselves and forgive. If we can't do this, then God will not forgive us. Being unwilling to forgive is a roadblock to God being able to move in our life. Humble yourself before the Lord, seek his face and he will heal your life. The conference was outstanding. This blog cannot do it justice. God gave me great boldness and healed a lot of hurt in my heart this weekend. I left a lot of things at the feet of Jesus. God is good. The fast for tomorrow is skip one meal.

This weekend a Prayer Conference is taking place at Bethel. All the churches in the NY Metro area are coming together for a time of prayer. The guest speaker and his family are very dear to the Manners household and it is so wonderful to see them again. The Corbin’s, Missionaries to Bangladesh and India are here for the weekend. Tonight's service was intense and there was a lot of prayer that took place. I believe it was the atmosphere in which people were healed and I am sure we are going to hear story after story about those whose body had been healed. After a time of deep prayer, Bro. Corbin preached. His title was, "Tears and Travel For Souls Between the Porch and the Alter". Wow!!! What a sermon. He was right in line with what Pastor Davis preached this past Sunday. His main scriptures were from Jeremiah 8:19-22 and Joel 2:15-21. God knows how to get to the core of an issue and God is good at being God. The world is not our problem, ISIS is not our problem. These are not things we need to be worried about or focused on. We must realized and remember there is no hell or worldly entity that shall prevail against the church. What we need is to be baptized again with a burden to pray. We need to weep between the porch and the alter. This is the place where the governance of God dwells. It does not need to be about a Happy Clappy church, but a place where intercession takes place. We must start our day with prayer, we a need a divine move of God in our homes. We must be Apostolic in everything we do. God is looking for intercessors. If we are not careful, we will sell out for a pot full of lentils. We must stay focused on God and have a prayer life. When we have a prayer life, it cannot always be prayers about what we want or need. God is wanting us to get on our face between the porch and the alter and seek his face for others. When we get the focus off ourselves and pray in intercession for those who do not know God, we are allowing God to have full control of our lives. We must have a burden for the lost. I wish I could do his sermon justice. The presence of God was very strong. If we pray for our cities, pray for our towns, pray for our loved ones, God will hear us. If we do not pray, we are allowing hell to take control. If we pray, God's hand will move. God is good.

We have adopted or been adopted by, not sure which way it happened, by a stray cat. We think he may have belonged to the previous owners. We call him Tabby. Last winter we tried desperately to get him to come inside. He was always afraid to come in, long enough for us to close the door behind him. Today, he seemed like he wanted to come in, so I opened the door to see what he would do. He came in! Ross and I were so excited. I closed the front glass door, but kept the main door open just in case he started to panic. He walked around the house, looked at everything. It's clear he is old and being outside has taken a toll on him. It looked like he was going to lay down and just decide to stay inside the warm house. Then he surprised us. He walked to the glass door looked at it and jumped up paws outstretched towards the door handle. He grabbed the door handle with both paws and turned the handle! We were in shock. He wanted out. I could not believe what I had just seen. I let him out and he sat on the porch looking at me and then at his dish and waited patiently for his lunch. For an old cat, he sure could jump. Maybe next time, I can convince him to stay longer. God is good.

Tonight we attended the wake of a woman who lived to be in her 90's. While I was at the wake I received a text informing me that someone from my childhood who was still in his ripe age of life had a heart attack and died suddenly. Life and death come hand in hand. We are not promised tomorrow. Every day we are faced with a choice of what we are going to do with it. Death has a way of reminding us to cherish what we have. I'm guilty like everyone else of not living the day as well as I should. I have many days that are a blur and I really can't remember if anything happened. We all have those days. I'm thankful tonight for my little family. I'm thankful for the love, peace and joy that fills our hearts. We are on a path and I'm glad this path is one filled with peace. Hug your loved ones, for you are not promised tomorrow. God is good.

Today while on the way to school, RJ was very quiet. Normally he is singing or talking a mile a minute. I figured he was tired. I should know by now that if his eyes are open and he's quiet, he is deep ithought and soon I will hear his thoughts. He then says," You know about that guy Paul". I mumble a reply knowing he's really not asking me about Paul. He then goes on,"Well..that guy Paul, he was a great man of God. He wasn't always so good you know..he used to hate Christians and the bam! God made him blind for three days and that made him change. Then he was good to the Christians and was the greatest preacher ever. Yeah..that guy Paul was something else." Then he broke out singing right along with Tye Tribbet, "YOU ARE EVERYTHING..EVERYTHING is YOU OOOH OOOH OHH". God is good. The fast for 1/14/15 is to skip two meals.

From my past experiences, the first day of the fast is usually ok, it's the second day, at least for me that is the hardest. Today we were doing a Daniel's Fast. No matter what I ate, I was still hungry. I was glad to make it through the day. I had a Kids Church meeting to attend and we decided Starbucks would be an ideal spot since there would be less to tempt us. OOH what a travesty, for tonight they were having a special. All their pastries were only a $1.00 each. I wanted to cry. I know that sounds silly, but oh man,it's only the 2nd day and there in the case was the most beautiful pastry. The caramel and chocolate combined caused my mind to go blank and I could not only smell it, I could taste it! I did not give in. I got a drink that was Daniel's fast worthy and sat down. Something so small..yet so very big! Tomorrow is a new day and another challenge. I want more of God in this new year. I can resist the little things and this will bring me victory in the future over great things. God is good. Tomorrow's fast is no eating (medically permitting) from 6am-6pm.

I don't recall if Pastor Davis gave his sermon today a title. I am giving it the title of "Time for Intercession". He preached from Genesis 18:26-33 and Luke 11:5-10. He preached with deep passion and conviction today. I could see his burden for those who do not know Jesus. Pastor believes we are beginning a new era and a time of testing has come. We may not all get along, but we have one goal and that is to get to Heaven. We must no longer stay in our comfort zone. The situations happening all over the world is an indication that the Antichrist is rising. We must be vigilant, we must be on our knees in prayer. We must be the light of Christ everywhere we go. It's not about us, it's about those who do not know God. Pastor challenged us to pray every day. No matter how long it is, 5 minutes, no matter what, pray daily. The next 21 days of prayer and fasting will determine what will happen in 2015. This is a year of destiny and this is time to set the course. We must seek his face during this time. Intercessory prayer is not about "me", it's about bridging the gap between someone else and God. One man can change the course of destiny. Abraham sought after God and he was able to change his mind. One person, you or me, when on our knees in prayer, can change the destiny of a situation. We are to go to the Lord on behalf of other people. The voice of one man saved an entire nation because he was willing to stand in the gap. The intercessor makes a difference. Go before the Lord with shameless persistence until God moves. We need to be a bulldog in our prayer and hold on, don't let go. By this time in the service, I was deeply moved on by God. All I could do was weep and pray. I stopped taking notes and didn't really hear much that was being said. As I have said before, I believe for my household, this is a year of restoration and advancement. I know the only way for this to take place is with my armor on and by fighting through prayer. 2015 is a year of great destiny and I will not be on the sidelines watching. I will be in battle on my knees. I truly believe these are the last days. I want to go to heaven, I want my family to go to heaven, I want you the reader to go to heaven. I pray for you, I pray for my family, and I pray and seek out my own salvation. I will bridge the gap on my knees in prayer. God is good. Side note: Fasting for Monday the 12th will be Daniel's Fast.

I found my journal, so I shall share the Thursday night Bible lesson Bro. Ausanio taught. His main scripture was Ephesians 4:17-24 and his title was "Heart and Mind". It's the small stuff that makes the big things. The truth is in Jesus and truth is not relative. When we are living by the word of God in this day and age, we can not be politically correct, we need to be Biblically correct. When it comes to our heart and mind, God wants to give us peace and joy. Things in life can bring you happiness, but those things may go away and with it your happiness. With God no matter the circumtance we can have joy. We know that with the spirit of God within us, that Jesus goes with us. God wants us to enjoy the blessings he has for us. The church is the bride of Christ and he has the best for us. We read in Hebrews 11:6 that God rewards those who dilligentlly seek him. If we are seeking Christ, we are seeking him to renew our mind and hearts. If our hearts and minds are alligned with God, then God is able to work in us. Whatever you mind is filled with, that is what you going to focus on. What is in your heart is what will rule you and guide you,. We need to be sold out with our body, mind, soul and spirit. It was a very good lesson and it's wise to apply it to our lives. Tomorrow starts the 21 days of prayer and fasting in our church. If you like to follow along, you can see the link here. I will also be posting ahead of time what each fast day will be. God is good. Tomorrows fast is Skip One Meal.

Since I cannot find my journal with my notes from Thursday night, I will have to put that off until I can find it. When we awoke this morning, we looked out to see it was snowing pretty hard. Bob didn't like the idea of my driving in the snow, so we declared it a snow day..not to mention we were up most of the night with RJ. He was not sick, just not able to sleep. Yesterday he went on a school field trip to an Art museum in the city. As we were eating breakfast, he leans over and says,” I have a secret to tell you". I sat quietly waiting to hear it. He then tells me," Well...you know how I like to sing when I am on the bus on well, anywhere. I decided to sneak Jesus onto the bus with me. I was very, very quiet, but under my breath I whispered a song." I asked him what it was that he sang. He then broke out into song singing, “Listen, do you hear what I hear, do you see what I see, do you what I know. Pray for peace people everywhere. OH OH OH...the precious lamb of God....then you know what...(now he is whispering again)I sang the whole Christmas concert from church under my breath. Boy, Jesus was sure on the bus with me and nobody knew it. Yeah..it was great, I whispered a song and snuck God onto the bus with me." God is good.

Ross arrived safely home last night. RJ was one very happy boy when he woke up to see that Ross was back. We are looking forward to the new routines and thankful for what the new year holds for us. We had a great lesson tonight at church, I will share it with you tomorrow, since I am tired. Also, tomorrow, I will list the 21 days of prayer and fasting that will be taking place starting Monday. For now, I wish you all a goodnight. God is good.

The wind has been pretty strong this evening. At times you can hear it's howl as it blows around the house. I commented on this and RJ turned to me and said, " The wind is not howling, it's singing". That's an interesting way to put it. I believe nature sings the praises to our God. We prayed the power would not go out and most of all that Ross would have a safe flight back to NY. We have missed him and are looking forward to his return. God is good.

So...RJ's prayers were answered. It snowed today, he was pretty happy about and when he came home, there was just enough on the ground for him to make a snow angel. Thankfully it has stopped snowing and the weather should be ok for Ross to return tomorrow. I'm all for a snow day..just after Ross gets back. They have a lot of fun together in the snow. I have had a song running through my mind and heart for several days. I figured I would share it with you. It's called In Jesus Name and written by Darlene Zschesch. You can see one of the many versions here. God is good.

RJ has been praying for snow to come. The weather app on my phone is predicting snow. I hope God answers his prayers, I just ask that he hold up on the major snow until Ross comes back home to NY. His flight is due to come in Wednesday evening. I would love for the two of them to have a snow day after Ross gets back to NY. We are glad Ross has been having a good time with his family and friends in Texas, we look forward to his return and getting back into a routine. I am thankful for the mild weather we have been having and this California girl will relent and admit I would like a little snow..just nothing like what we had last year. I would like to ask that you pray for a wonderful young lady from my church. RJ and I are big fans of her singing and she's an all around wonderful person. She has been battling a health issue for some time. RJ prayed for her tonight and asked God to heal her because she just has been too sick for too long. I agree with him. Please help us in prayer for her. I know God is able and he didn't take the stripes on his back for nothing. That blood was shed for her healing. God is good.

Today Bro. Walker preached an outstanding sermon to start off the year 2015. He preached from Nahum 1:7 with the title CAVU. He read many verses and every time the word IS was in the scripture, we would all shout out the word as it came up. The Bible is what it is and it's absolute. We read in Psalms 119:105 that God is a light to our path. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. God's word is never under construction, there is no exit ramp, and there is only one way to Heaven. The Bible is not a bag of trail mix where you get to pick out the pieces you like and ignore the rest. The Bible is what it is and it's not changing. God's word is meant to change us, to transform our lives. We know from Psalms 23:1 that the Lord is our Shepherd, we can trust in him. We find in Nehemiah 8:10 that the joy of the Lord is our strength. The devil can try to delay you, but he can't stop you. No matter the situation, God can turn it around. He then read from Psalms 27:1, 96:4, 18:2 in that order. He then told the story of George HW Bush. When he was 18 he was a pilot whose plane crashed. His life was spared and when he returned home, he knew his life was meant for a purpose. He later became the President of the USA. He had a saying that was put into these letters CAVU. They stand for Ceiling And Visibility Unlimited. No matter what you find in your life CAVU will come. We will be able to complete the mission. We must remember Isiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. This is a convent verse between us and God. The Lord is our defense. We must remember that there is ONE GOD James 2:19 and when we proclaim Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord, the forces against us scream and shake. God is fighting for us. We will not be shaken. There is one God, not three persons. Stand upon it, hold fast to it, and do not forget it. No matter what is coming your way, you will be able to soar once again and the clouds will part, Victory is here! God is good.

We usually start the new year off by doing a deep cleaning of our home. This week we cleaned from top to bottom and it makes the house feel great. We even changed our furniture just a bit. I like the change, makes it feel cozy. Soon, we will be doing a physical and spiritual cleaning as well. Our church will be starting 21 days of prayer and fasting. Tomorrow, we will be given details while in church. If you are a regular reader of this blog, I welcome you to join us. It's always good to clean the body and the soul. God is good.

RJ likes to have a real Christmas tree in his room during Chtistmas time. We get a small one still in the pot. The plan is to plant it in the backyard once the season has ended. Last years tree didn't make it. The ground froze before we could plant it at a proper time. This year, we took advantage of the "warm" weather and planted it today. The weather report says that Sunday will be on the warm side and there will be rain. Hopefully this will allow his tree to become rooted before the snow comes. Along with the planting of the tree our home is now back to normal. School starts up again on Monday, the break has gone by quickly. I'm thankful for this family time. God is good.

Since it's the first day of 2015, we decided to start our Bible reading from Genesis. Some words seemed to stand out to me. "He said". Then there was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, combined with the Tree of Life. Wait a minute..how is it that in all my years reading the Bible, it never occurred to me that there were two trees. The Tree of Life was a unique tree and Adam and Eve were able to eat from it. Then there was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. They could eat all they wanted and eat from the Tree of Life, but not from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. As I was thinking about this, I remembered a scripture that says, "Let God's word be true and every man a liar." Those are some strong words. Then it hit me. Could it be that the Tree of Life was filled with God's words? His words bring life, do they not? How many times have you been made aware of something, you were enlighted by someone and it was good, yet brought a bit of evil into your life? Adam and Eve had a choice. If they obeyed God and listened only to His words and not listen to others, they would have had life abundantly. When they partook of The Tree of Good and Evil, they lost their chance at eating from the Tree of Life. We are living in a day and age where everyone wants to enlighten you. Christians and being looked at as being backwards. Going to God's word, which is life, is frowned upon. We are bombarded with information that can be good, but everything now is tainted with some evil. Whose word will you believe? Will you use God's word as a template for your daily life or will you walk the path of The Knowledge of Good and Evil. I told you I am walking with my armor on and I am advancing. I don't care if the waves of knowledge are raging around me. I will not fall, I will not slip, I will not look to the left of the right. I am not looking bak to 2014. I am advancing and the word of God is my sword. I will fill myself with the Tree of Life and advance into my destiny! God is good.
