Tonight when it came to dinner time it was just RJ and I. Bob is out of town and Ross was running late. As we were eating our conversation went like this. RJ, "Mom..I have been thinking about the ant lately." Me, “Hmmm sounds interesting." RJ, “Really, you know the ant is so small, so I had a thought. A day to us, is a week to an ant. A week is a month and a month is a year. Yeah..that's what I think. They are so small it takes them forever to get from one place to another." Me, “So...what is a year to an ant?" Without hesitation he replies, "Nothing." Me," Nothing? How can that be?" His reply, “Well, a year is nothing because he's already dead." There you have it. End of story. God is good.

Pumpkin Spice and everything nice. I really enjoy pumpkin everything, so needless to say I'm just a bit thrilled with this time of the year. From my coffee to the desserts that grace my table, there is a pumpkin something nearby. Autumn is my favorite time. This time of the year is filled with many happy memories. As I reflect on these memories, I can enjoy it with a little pumpkin spice added to it. God is good.

This weekend one of our goals besides Joe's 50th birthday, was to paint my mother in laws kitchen. It's been a very long time since it has been painted. She picked out the color she wanted. Bob with help from RJ spent most of the weekend painting the kitchen walls. She was very happy with the end product and that is what matters most. God is good.

Today Bob spent most of the day painting the kitchen for his mom. RJ and I ran around and prepared for a birthday dinner to celebrate Joe (Bob's brother) turning 50. The table was filled with delicious food and by the time the night had ended the house was filled with people. The sound of laughter in the air was a nice touch as the children played outside. It was a womderful day. Happy 50th Joe, we love you. God is good.

This morning I was feeling better so we decided to come to NJ for the weekend. I'm still not a 100% but waaaaay better than I have been. RJ is on a date with his Grammy and I'm resting by a very warm fire made with loving care by my husband. It's wonderful to rest in The Lord. We received a phone call from some very dear people. I count it an honor they are our friends. The Lord is good and his mercy endures forever. God is good.

Tonight, I am still not feeling well, so I stayed home. Bob recently watched a video of a lesson being taught by Bro. Billy Cole. His message still rings true today, even though he has now gone on to his reward in Heaven. His subject was on Spiritual Warfare and Intercessory prayer. I believe now more than ever before his sermon is fitting to this day and age. Too many righteous men are dying. The world is in darkness and the leaders of the nations know this. Their plans are influenced by demonic forces and they are afraid of it. The church also knows this, we are not afraid of it. In India there was a famine and people were so hungry they were selling their children. A man killed a cow to eat it and a riot ensued and 300 people died. A train in India stopped because a cow was on the bridge, the train crashed and 3,000 people died. This is spiritual darkness. In Thailand there was a dangerous mountain pass and many people had died on it. The local people built a temple for the daemons and they called that place the Gates of Hell. When Bro. Cole drove through this area, he stopped the car and shouted “The gates of hell shall not prevail against the church!" Thank God for missions and thank God for growth. We need to strengthen the base and the roots of the tree. This is only done by intercessory prayer. True prayer begins with complete honesty. The people who cause the most damage in the church are those who say, "Thus sayeth the Lord", and they have not heard from God. We need to quit our lying. God will give us the real thing, do not accept a substitute. God will give us the real thing, when we are completely honest. Don't be afraid to say that you made a mistake. Intercessory prayer involves speaking to the situation. We must understand the power of the spoken word. Life and death exist in the tongue. By our words we will be saved and by our words we will condemned. We can speak things into existence. Do not say, “God please heal her", speak to the situation and command it to go in Jesus name. This is not arrogance, this is a revelation of truth. Jesus spoke to the wind and the waves. Jesus told us to speak to the mountain and it will be removed. You can speak to every situation and take authority over it in Jesus name. Intercessory prayer involves taking ahold of God’s will and refusing to let go until it comes to pass. The battle is won and the battle is lost in the prayer room. If you would like to watch his lesson in its entirety, you can do so here. God is good.

Last week, Bob and I were at RJ's back to school night and missed Part 3 of “The Bait of Satan" series. The lesson was taught by Bro. Jonathan Walker and he gave out notes to correspond with what he was teaching. My nephew Ross grabbed some for me, so I will be attempting to share it by typing from the handout given. The focus was on “The Fruit of the Spirit & Forgiveness". Hannah Moore is quoted as saying," A Christian will find it cheaper to pardon than to resent. Forgiveness save the expense of anger, the cost of hatred, the waste of spirits". Jesus Christ said, “Freely you have received, freely you must give. If you forgive not, neither will the Father forgive your trespasses". 1. The Fruit of the Spirit are: Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Meekness and Temperance. Overcoming an offence is a command, not a suggestion. 2. Joseph went on a journey of forgiveness. He was Envied, Forsaken, Sold, Betrayed, Blackmailed, Imprisoned, Undervalued, Forgotten and then Promoted for a Purpose. He has a quote in his notes that I actually love. “I have learned to kiss the wave that crashes me into the rock of ages."-C Spurgeon. 3. God's Love and God's Word equal Proactive Remedy. Offences and trials will come. These offenses do not have to take root and yield sinful fruit. The best place to be is at the foot of the cross, there we will find his love. With the love of Christ active in our life, the fruit of his spirit will be powerful in our lives. Godly love is the foundation of everything we do in life. There is no better foundation to build on than love. If something hurts me, love suffers long. If someone is rude, love is kind. If someone else is extremely blessed, love does not envy. If it's my turn to be extremely blessed, love does not parade itself. If I am successful, love is not puffed up. If many are offensive, love does not behave in like manner. Love will bear, believe, hope and endure all things. Allow the Fruit of the Spirit to be manifest in your life and you will be able to resist the bait of Satan. On a side note, I am feeling better and am thankful that I had energy to leave the house today. God is good.

Today is the first day of Autumn. I love this season. The beauty in the changing of the leaves to the crispness in the air. I love Pumpkin everything so my taste buds will be having a wonderful time. I'm looking forward to feeling better so I can start baking lots of yummy Autumn themed sweets to grace my table. God is good.

I'm still not feeling well. The doctors changed my antibiotics and they at times make me want to sleep. I know many are praying for me and I want to say thank you. It has been a long time since I have been this sick. I guess wonder mom has to stop and let the body heal every once in a while. I'm thankful to my husband for taking such good care of me and for the boys letting me sleep. I can't leave out my dog Mozart who lays by my side to keep a close eye on me. I will get better. God is good.

I have not been feeling well and I wanted to see a doctor. Since my doctor didn't have an opening right away, they suggested I go to Urgent Care. I have heard about them, but never needed to go to one. I was very impressed with the quick service and the friendliness of the staff and doctor. After being checked, I was instructed to take antibiotics for two weeks. I wish I could say they are working wonders and making me feel like a million dollars. Instead they make me feel like curling up into a ball and never getting out of bed. I'm not sure if they are supposed to do that and I pray they do their work quickly. I want to be able to attend church tomorrow. No matter how sick I may feel in my body, I am thankful to have a husband who takes care of me when I feel sick. The best part is when RJ brings me a spoonful of honey to make it all taste better. Due to feeling this way I missed a baby shower for a friend of mine. She is expecting twins and they are a gift from the Lord. I'm sad I was not there to celebrate two wonderful lives that will be born soon into this world. Sick or not..God is good.

Tonight we were invited to join our Jewish friend and his family in attending the welcoming of the Sabbath in the synagogue, followed by a Sabbath dinner in their home. It was interesting to sit in the temple balcony with the women and look down below to observe the men. As the men sang in Hebrew, it felt for a moment like I went back in time. This was close to how it was in the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It brought the Bible to life for me in a whole new way. RJ was very well behaved and even though he didn't understand what was going on he sat quietly. The evening was a lovely one, so the walk to and from the synagogue was enjoyable. When we sat for dinner, I couldn't get over all the food that kept coming. RJ finally gave up and said it was so much food he was overwhelmed. I was impressed at how much work she put into all the food. This is done every Friday and I was amazed. I really enjoyed the conversations we had around the table as we ate. Tonight was a unique experience for us and we really enjoyed it. God is good.

Tonight was back to school night at RJ's school. It was nice to see everyone and hear the teachers give their introductions. I sat looking around and taking in the wonderful gift we have in where RJ is attending. The opportunities being presented to RJ have amazed us and we left with an overall feeling of thankfulness that our boy is able to attend such an outstanding school. We are confident that 2nd grade is going to take RJ to a new level and already we can see his growth in the work on the walls. In a very short amount of time his writing has become structured. His love for math is reaching new heights and that was evident because in the car on the way home,he kept talking about how excited he was to do his math homework. His school is a very special place and once again he has an outstanding teacher. God is good.

Last week Bro. Vayna taught part 2 of the "Bait of Satan" series. Since tomorrow will be part 3, I figured I should blog part 2 first. Part 2 is about living free from the deadly trap of offense. Hebrews 5:8-9 we read that test and trials will make a better Christian out of you if you react properly. Galatians 5:16-21 give a list of the works of the flesh. These are things in our life that can cause us to lose out on our salvation and ruin our lives. Most of these things are rampant in society and when trying to live a Christ centered life, you can be frowned upon for not agreeing or participating. The works of the flesh listed are: Adultery, Fornication, Lasciviousness (shocking behavior on public display), Idolatry, Witchcraft, Hatred, Variance (always ready to fight), Wrath, Strife, Seditions (causing division), Heresies, Envy, Murder, Drunkenness and Reveling. All these things if allowed in your life can cause destruction. He also talked about the root of bitterness and how it can destroy your life. We must be so careful to not allow bitterness to take root and overcome us. It is better to forgive and allow love to set you free. To overcome bitterness, we need to forgive completely and unconditionally. Remember that God's forgiveness of you is determined on your willingness to forgive others. When we get the thoughts of bitterness out of our mind and heart we are able to let go and move on in our life. Confessing our anger to God allows us to release it from our heart. God will help you to forgive if you ask him to help you. God is good.

Today when I awoke the sun was shining, then it seemed out of nowhere clouds appeared and the rain soon followed. It was not a summer rain or a spring rain, it had the whisper of Autumn in it. I love the Fall Season, the colors, the crispness in the air. I never thought in a million years this California girl would look forward to wearing boots and scarves. I was miss flip flops, open toed shoes or better yet, no shoes most of my life. Now, I find myself pulling out my light sweaters, dusting off my boots and getting excited over scarves. I like the changing of the seasons, the appreciation it gives to the changes that come. I heard Autumn whisper in my ear today, it's coming. I shall enjoy the changing of the season and look forward to drinking warm tea and hot apple cider. God is good.

I learned yesterday that a childhood friend of mine is in desperate need of a transplant. She is young, vibrant and an all around good person. When I heard the news, I cried out in sadness and then prayed to God for a miracle. I know firsthand that God is a healer. I also know that God has given us doctors to repair our broken bodies. Please read her blog The Adventures of e and p and please join me in prayer for her. God is good.

Today Pastor Davis preached an off the charts sermon. I would say it probably was not the most popular sermon to some, you were either shouting the roof off or wishing you could disappear into your seat. He preached from Matthew 24:1-14 and his title was "Jesus is Coming Soon." The End Times are clearly stated in the scriptures. In the book of Matthew we read that Jesus sits down with the disciples and tells them what to look for to know when his second coming will be. He gave them a list and if you have been paying attention to what is going on around the world lately, you will realize his list is being checked off one by one. 1. Wars and rumors of wars. Wars are breaking out on a steady basis all over the world. Nations are rising against nations. Christians are being persecuted by ISIS. They are going into the villages and when they find out someone is a Christian they are beheading their children in front of them. Jesus is coming soon! The Bible tells us that the wars will become so bad, that the world will began to cry out for peace. This is when a world leader will rise up and bring peace. With that peace will be an empty hope. 2. Famines are coming to pass. There is a global epidemic of hunger. The earth is not able to keep up with the growth of population. 3. Pestilence will come. You read about it, the super bugs that are breaking out and nothing seems to be able to cure it. 4. Earthquakes are being reported on a much larger scale all over the world. The earth is groaning, we must pay attention. 5. False Prophets will rise up. There have always been people who say they are the messiah, this is not new. Today more and more churches are becoming mainstream. They are not holding true to any doctrine and have become a smorgasbord to pick what makes you happy. The New Age way of belief is creeping into the churches. More and more are moving away from following the guidelines of the word of God. The false prophets will perform signs and wonders and many will be deceived. Pastor stopped there and declared that Bethel is a One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism church and we are going to stay that way. 6. There will be an increase in knowledge. At this present rate, the world’s knowledge is doubling every two years. 7. We will become a cashless society. Already, very few transactions take place with cash. We have become so used to using our debit or credit cards, we don't even think about needing to have cash in our wallets. The next step is to convince us that all we need is a chip on our body to protect us from fraud. Put a chip in your child and you will never need to worry about where they are. It will be used as a safety measure. Wake up church! Pastor asked us how this type of preaching made you feel. Do you want to jump up and down in excitement because Jesus is coming back or are you afraid. We do not need to live in fear. If you are living a Christ centered life, have been filled with his spirit and baptized in his name, it is a time to rejoice. If you are not living for Jesus, then it's time to wake up and repent. God is coming soon! He then started to sing “This World is Not My Home, I'm Just Passing Through..". WAKE UP, Jesus is coming. God is good.

This week has gone by quickly and I realized Sunday is tomorrow. I mentioned I would blog Pastor Davis' sermon, so here it is. His sermon was "God Still Has a Church and God Will Always Have a Church". He preached from Romans 11:2. Present day NY is a lot like the church mentioned in Romans. The Christians in Rome felt like they were the only ones serving God. Paul encourages them by letting them know that there are many others who are still serving and following Christ. We in the present day, especially in NY, find the Christian walk challenged. At times it may feel like we are the only person in our neighborhood who is trying to live a Christ centered life. We must remember that God knew us before we were even born and he knows exactly where we are at. In Romans we read that God has a remnant of believers. When we read this, he does not mean the leftovers, but the ones most precious to God that remain. After everything that can be shaken, is shaken, what is left is the most valuable. There is a shaking going on in this present day. Will you stand for what is holy and pure? Will you give in to the social pressures around you or will you take a stand for what is right in God's eyes? Those who are still standing, they are the church of the living God. Romans 11:5 tells us that God still has a church, and will always have a church. The church is not an organization or a religion, it's a body of believers who stand for what is doctrinally found in the word of God. We must remember the devil never lets a victory go unchallenged, he hates winners. When we overcome and tell him to get behind us, he will try to steal our victory. No matter what the devil takes from you, God will restore it to you. Regardless of what happens, God will still have a church. It does not matter what you are going through. If you stay close to God, you will be an overcomer.Remember if you can't solve it, let it go and give it to God. He then ended his sermon by saying the words to "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus." If you are in God's hands you will be safe. God is good.

Tonight Bob and I decided to go on an impromptu date. We had already eaten dinner and had some Birthday Cake as well, so dessert was covered. We dressed up and got in the car not sure where we were going to go. It was a bit chilly out, so we decided to take a stroll through the mall. It was nice to walk up and down the floors and window shop hand in hand. I will confess, I did get a gift..I like my birthday week. My new lotion makes my hands smell really nice. The best part of it all was just being with my husband. I'm thankful we still like being around each other and the romance is still alive. God is good.

Tonight was part 2 of the Thursday night lessons. I took a lot of notes, and will blog it tomorrow. Today I want to focus on a phrase I saw a lot of today and even said myself. Today marks 13 years since the 9/11 attacks occurred. The phrase, "never forget", is used a lot. It was a day of terror and we as a nation promised to never forget those who lost their lives. We stop and reflect and realize that life is precious and can quickly be taken from you. I attended a memorial today at RJ's school. It was very moving and as the flags stood at half mast, the sun's rays broke through the dark clouds and shone down upon us. No matter how dark the situation may seem, there is hope. I'm thankful for that hope. God is good.

This morning when my little boy woke up, he came running into my arms with a present tucked under his arm. He had been hiding a gift he had for me. I really like his present and that he was excited to give it to me. When I picked him up from school, his teacher and Head of the school came out with him wishing me a Happy Birthday. In RJ's hand, he held a bird in a nest he had made for me out of clay. To celebrate my birthday we went to my favorite restaurant, The Red Bowl. The food is about as authentic as it gets when it comes to Chinese food. Ross had class tonight and was not able to join us, but he and I had lunch together earlier in the day. We have plenty of leftovers, so he will be able to enjoy the dinner as well. Whenever I eat there, I go to a happy place in my heart and mind. We ended our meal with a refreshing cup of ice cold jasmine green tea. Tonight when I finish this blog, I will cuddle with my husband and we will have a late night snack of Lychees. You can take the girl out of Taiwan, but you will never take Taiwan out of the girl. All in all, it was a lovely evening and I'm thankful for it. God is good.

Today the twitterverse was abuzz about the new iPhone being released. I kept seeing bits and pieces of the most prominent quotes. One stood out to me and it brought back memories of a play called "The Day After" that we used to perform at my home church. When the Antichrist was introducing the mark he used a line that I kid you not was line for line spoken by the man introducing the new iPhone."No more cash, or credit cards... And it will make your life so much more convenient.." Let me clarify, I am not saying the iPhone is the mark of the beast or the man presenting the new iPhone is the Antichrist. What I am saying is that we are having some rapid changes in the world, which is going to bring it about quickly. The new technology is redefining the way we look at things and how we use our money. It's so easy, so simple and less complicated. When the mark comes the world will embrace it and not even realize what they are doing. Christians AWAKE, for the time of God's return is coming soon. Look up, be aware, for Jesus is coming. God is good.

For the month of September on Thursday nights, there are several different classes being taught. Bob, Ross and I are attending the one being taught by Bro. Vayna. It's pretty intense and I will admit I have had some "ouch" moments. The class is based on a book called "The Bait Of Satan, Living Freely From The Bait Of Satan". Bro. Tom takes the idea and is using scripture to be the foundation for the lesson. He started off by saying that Jesus is our baseline-the starting point for comparison being made in our life. When Jesus was dying on the cross, he said "Father, forgive them." He was the ultimate example of forgiveness. Tonight I will be sharing lesson 1: Introduction and Overview: The works of the flesh and the root of bitterness. We read in Luke 17:1 that offenses will come. An offense is a snare or a bait, a stumbling block or a method by which we stumble and are trapped. Baites are used to hurt feelings. Never underestimate the power of the impact hurt feelings can have on someone. To trap a Christian the enemy appeals to our humanity. We read in James 1:13-15 that Satan entices us into a moral trap luring us through our own selfish impulses. There is hope for we read in James 1:12 that those who endure and persevere under trial are blessed. When the bait is set everything depends on how you respond. The right reaction leads to growth and if you don't respond in the right way it can lead to sin. 2 Timothy 2:22-26 tells us we must be kind to everyone, able to teach and not be resentful. If you are holding a grudge, if there is someone in your family you are not speaking to by choice or you hate someone you have swallowed the bait of Satan. You can read about this in Ephesians 6:11 and 2 Corinthians 11:3. Bro. Tom then gave some examples of types of baits that can be thrown our way. 1) We usually are offended by those we are closest to. That is why there are problems in our families. 2) When we hate and withhold forgiveness we are hurting ourselves. Withholding forgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping the other person will die. I John 3:15 says that if you hate your brother, you are a murderer. Pride is what causes us to hate one another. God hates pride. Pride keeps you bound-forgiveness sets you free. 3) Just because you were mistreated does not give you the right to hold an offense. Two wrongs do not make a right. A victim says because they were mistreated they are justified in not forgiving. A victor says two wrongs don't make a right, I will forgive. 4) God refines us with trials and tribulations we can read about this in Revelations 3:18. In Hebrews 3:12-13 we are instructed to be careful that our hearts do not become hardened and to not resent what is taking place. 5) Offense itself is not deadly unless it's consumed. Once you consume the offence you are trapped. When your focus is on yourself, watch out you are about to take the bait. He then gave some questions to ask yourself. If you can say yes to these things, it may be time for some soul searching and ask God to help you overcome. A. Are you constantly rehearsing the past hurt? B. Are you compelled to tell your side of the story? C. Are you determined to prove to yourself and others you are right. D. Do you believe someone is out to get you? E. Do you feel betrayed? F. Could you be mad at God? G. Do you fight thoughts of suspicion or distrust? If we don't deal with offenses, it will turn into resentment and anger. 6) We have the weapons to deal with offenses. We read in Ephesians 6:16 and 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 that we can put on the full amour of God to fight these battles. The word of God helps you to know the differences between your thinking and God's thinking. Waiting on God is a challenge. Remember God knows your heart better than you do. He knows if you are truly giving it to him or not. If we are prepared for an attack, we are able to not take the bait. Keeping your eyes on Christ will carry you and God gives you the strength to overcome. I will be honest, I have been doing a lot of soul searching. I do not want to have bitterness in my heart. I want Jesus to be at the center of it all. God is good.

Today church was outstanding and Pastor preached an encouraging sermon about the church still being here. I will blog about it later and I will also blog Thursdays as well before the week is over. When the church service was completed we had our church picnic which was combined with our Sheaves for Christ fundraiser. The children walked around the church in their pinwheel parade and their sponsors and parents cheered them along. We had bouncers, a dunk tank and a lot of yummy food. Also, RJ had his table set up with his diamonds. He worked very hard and when the day was done he turned in $1,288.00 for Sheaves for Christ. We still have some left and request are still coming in via social media to make a purchase. We are so happy it was a positive turn out. We know what you do for Christ will last and it gives us great joy that the summer of hard work has produced something that will make a difference eternally. God is good.

When RJ brought up the idea for his Superior Cape May Diamonds, I don't think any of us had a clue to all the work it would take to make it happen. We spent countless hours combing the shores in Riverhead, Oyster Bay, Cape May, and Virginia. With a lot of help from Ross on the hard parts dealing with chemicals and operating the Rock Tumbler, it was achieved. From the first step to the very last step,we had a lot of fun. I think it was fun because we were doing it for a great cause. Our reward is not something tangible that can be touched, but it's the joy that comes from giving. Tomorrow, we set up our table for the church picnic and I look forward to giving it all to Sheaves for Christ. Our hope is that it's a very large one and RJ will see that it truly is better to give than to receive. God is good.

A summer of tumbling rocks has produced a finished product. Tonight we sat around the table and put 10 Cape May Diamonds of various sizes in a gold mesh bag tied with a ribbon. RJ will be selling them this Sunday during our church picnic. All proceeds will go directly to Sheaves For Christ, which funds (Missions, Orphans and other needs). Last year RJ raised $500 for the Pinwheel Parade he participated in. This year, he wanted to do something more and thus the Superior Cape May Diamond idea was born. Ross has been a great help to him in the areas that were not safe for a young child to handle, like chemicals that went into the tumbler. It has been an educational experience and I think it's safe to say we had fun doing it. RJ is very excited about selling them and I hope that he sells out before the picnic has ended. We are thrilled that at the age of 6 he is already working so hard to give to a worthy cause. God is good.

Today was RJ's first day of 2nd grade. It was so nice to see everyone again and seeing the happiness on RJ's face when he saw his teacher from last year and then his teacher for this year was a wonderful sight. We really love his school and are thankful for another year there. Today when he came home and bounded off the bus with a huge smile on my face, I knew the day had been a good one. He talked for about 15 minutes non-stop about his day, another good sign that he is happy. Then he said.. " You know, when I was in 1st grade I was 10% a big boy. Now today after ONE DAY as 2nd grader I am now 20% a big boy". I wanted to cry when he said that. He is growing up quickly in the litteral sense and in every other way. I thank God that RJ is healthy and happy. Tonight we attended Bible study at church and the lesson was outstanding. I will be posting it tomorrow. God is good.

Every time I check the news, I see fear being proclaimed all around the world. No matter where you look it's like explosions are taking place and a threat to the USA is being proclaimed as certain to happen. If I focus on these things, I will become very afraid. I know I can't keep my head in the sand for these things taking place all over the world are very real. I have a choice. I can choose to walk in fear or I can walk in peace. I will keep my eyes upward toward the heavens and pray for the Lord to return. I will live my life. I will love others. I will forgive. I will be free. I will not have fear in my heart. I know the peace speaker and when he says peace be still, peace in my heart will come. Tomorrow RJ will start 2nd grade. I can send him to school covered in prayer and trust that God will watch over him. God is good.

I know I already blogged, but I wanted to share something that just occured. After Bob tucked RJ into bed, RJ snuck into the living room asking if I could please be with him. I went in to his room and after cuddling for a while, we decided it was just too hot and so I sat in the rocking chair. As I rocked, and he chatted about this and that, I remembered when he was just a tiny baby and I would sing and rock him to sleep. RJ then asked if I could sing to him like I did when he was a baby. I did as he asked. I was tired back then and all I could remember were songs from long ago that I grew up hearing in church. Songs like.."Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus...." or " Jesus is the sweetest name I know.." followed by " Jesus..there is just something about that name..." I sang them again and I heard my boy make a very content sigh and whisper under his breath. " I love you Jesus." The peace of God filled his bedroom and I sat quietly in the presence of the Lord while my son slept. I'm not a perfect person or a perfect mom. I make mistakes all the time. Tonight, I give thanks for a savior who when I call his name, comes and despite my faults, brings comfort. I don't know what the future holds, but if my son can grasp a hold of the importance of Jesus in his life, he will be ok. God is good.
For many school started today, RJ he has one last day of "Summer" and then school starts for him. We have commented that it seemed like winter never really let go. Now that school is starting it's so super hot and humid. I can't believe how hot it has been since we retruned from California. Amid the heat, I give thanks since I know there will be a day when I will not be happy to be freezing cold in the snow. Tonight we started up our home group again. It was nice to see everyone and fellowship with others is always nice. I would like to ask for prayer. Another good friend of ours is due to have an heart operation. Please pray for him and his family. God is good.

We took my Mother in law home last night after church. When we arrived we discovered to our delight that Bob's brother was having a camp out in the woods. We joined them for hamburgers and then headed back to the house. To the boys dismay a gusher of a rain storm decided to show up as well. Nevertheless, they still had their campout only it was in their living room. We always enjoy our time with them. When we arrived home we discover that chiggers had hitched a ride on our bodies and we quickly made them unwelcome. For us summer is over and I'm looking forward to the Fall season. God is good.
