In like a Lion

There is a saying that says March comes in like a Lion and out like a Lamb. I am beginning to see where that came from. We have been getting snow least once a week for a while now. I was hoping that this would end when March arrived. Not so, we will have another whopper of a snow storm on Monday. Thus, March is coming in like a Lion and I sure hope going out like a Lamb. As I check the weather all over the USA and the world, I am seeing extreme weather conditions. These extreme conditions to me are a shout from the earth that Jesus is coming. You can call it climate change, I call it the signs of the times. Believe in God or not, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The earth is shouting it out, I suggest you pay attention. God is good.

The Preisthood of Believers

Tonight Pastor Davis taught an excellent lesson on The Priesthood of Believers. He first talked about the function of the priest in the temple according to the Old Testament and how they needed to be a descendant of the Levi tribe. In the New Testament we are all called a priest and instead of the Temple being a building, the Temple is our bodies. His main scripture was I Peter 2:5,9. The Priesthood is to offer up spiritual sacrifices, Romans 12:1, our bodies are to be a sacrifice unto the Lord. This does not mean we are to burn ourselves our kill ourselves in the physical sense..these are in the spiritual sense. Jesus owns our body, he bought us with a price. I Corinthians 9:27 tells us we are to put our flesh under subjection to Christ. Every time you make the right choice, it's an offering to God. In Revelation 5:8 and 8:4 tells us that our prayers are a memorial unto God and a sacrifice unto the Lord. Psalm 141:2 talks about our prayers being an incense unto the Lord. When the memorial of our prayers reach a certain point, God responds to what he hears. The more we pray the more we are putting it in his face, so that he can not forget. We also must offer a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. In Hebrews 13:15 we are instructed to enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. We sing God's praises because He's worthing, not just because we feel like it. We are also to not come to him empty handed and our sacrifice of praise is an offering unto the Lord. A sacrifice of worship and obedience is also necessary, Psalms 51:17. When we come to the Lord with a broken and contrite spirit we are telling the Lord we are tired of doing things on our own, we want to do it God's way instead. It's important that when we obey it's not in a defiant way, but with true submissions. Someone can obey, but not fully submit on the inside. God hates rebellion and likens it unto witchcraft. We need to give to God and to others, Hebrews 13:16. God expects his people to be a people of good deeds. When you are doing something for others, it's to not be with the attitude of what's in it for me. When you do for others, you are doing it unto the Lord. God never forgets and He will reward you. These scriptures all pertain to doing for others: Acts 20:35,Luke 14:13,Romans 12:13,Ephesians 4:28,Galatians 6:10 and Luke 11:41. We all need to have a personal plan on how we plan to help others in need. We need to be giving personally to people in need. If you see someone begging, do not judge, but give and let what they do with the money be between them and God. Also, we need to give in a corporate method, a combined way of giving. Our church offering envelopes have a section marked other, if you are wanting to give to someone in need, you write the word benevolence in the other spot and those funds will be given to someone in need. Remember just as you give, God will give back to you. If you are stingy and do not give, God will be stingy in his blessings he gives to you. It's not always in a financial form, but God will bless you with many other things. Remember your sacrifice to God needs to be the best you can give. God is good.

Standing on both sides

I was thinking about how songs are a reflection of the time or moment we are presently in. I did a little internet search and came across the top 25 hymns being sung in churches and the top 25 worship songs sung in churches. I then did a search on the top 25 songs for the general public. I will share the top 5 in each category. Hymns: 1. How Great Thou Art 2. Great Is Thy Faithfulness 3. Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine 4. All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name 5. Holy, Holy, Holy For the Worship Songs: 1 10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord) 2. How Great Is Our God 3. Our God 4. Mighty To Save 5. Revelation Song and Pop songs for 2014 : 1. Katy Perry-Dark Horse. 2.Pharrell Williams-Happy 3. Jason Durulo-Talk Dirty 4. A Great Big World & Christina Aguilara-Say Something 5. Beyonce-Drunk In Love. When I looked at the titles of these songs and compared them I saw a huge shift. The church is reaching to to Christ and declaring how great and mighty he is. We are singing out to him of his power to save us. While mainstream society is focusing on things of the flesh and let's face it all things the opposite of Christ. Now this is not a shocker by any means, all you have to do is look around you and you can see a clean line is being drawn. When you chose to walk the walk of Christ and follow the Bible you are going to stand out among the crowd. Christians be ready, soon you are going to have to make a choice. Do you want to blend in and still try to follow Christ? The time is coming when Christians will make a choice to not back down and to stand on God's word, they will stand out. What side of the line will you stand? Standing on both sides won't last for very long, eventually you will have to make a choice. The side of standing on God's word or the side that says, anything goes. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. God is good.

The Hot Seat

In our Care Group, we have what is called The Hot Seat. It's not really a seat, nor is it hot, but we call it that anyway. When someone has a prayer request we have them stand in the middle and we all pray for that person and their specific need. Many times, these urgent prayer requests have been answered. For example, we had a couple who were trying to have a baby, they now have twins and the stories could go on and on. At the end of group tonight, RJ came to Bob and I and whispered if the group could pray for him. He had gotten the hiccups and they were not going away. He then went and asked our care group leader if they would pray for him. RJ stood in the hot seat and we all prayed. His hiccups didn't go away immediately, but he didn't get discouraged and as I type he is sound asleep and hiccup free. The hot seat(prayer)works. God is good.

Signs of Spring

Yesterday when we arrived home from church, a lot of snow had melted and we could finally see the ground! There to our delight were signs of spring. Tiny Daffodil shoots have started to spring forth out of the ground. RJ was so excited to see the first sign of spring. The weather is forcasting snow this week...I am hoping it will not be much. I enjoyed winter and am now ready for spring to sprung. God is good.

Deep Calling the Deep

Today we attended church in Manhatten. Bob was asked to be the guest speaker for their service today. Shortly after we arrived the fire department and police showed up because there was a gas leak coming from somewhere outside the building. At first they thought it was from the church building itself, but once determined it was safe, we were able to have church anyway and have church we did. I heard service at Bethel was great, so I plan to purchase the CD and I will share the sermon with you on a later date. For now, I will share notes from what Bob preached on. His sermon title was "The Deep Calling The Deep" based on Psalms 42:7 Deep calleth unto deep unto the noise of they waterspouts; all thy waves and they billows are gone over me. This Psalm was written by King David and it describes a picture or nature. He then read from Psalms 42:1-6 and talked about how David went from saying his heart was longing after God to he was feeling melancholy. When David talks about the deep calling unto the deep, he is talking about wanting to be rid of or released from the burdens and problems that were weighing him down. He wanted to cast his burdens into the deep sea of God and have the waves and billows wash over them. He wanted to get rid of the junk in his life and become deeper and closer to God. When David casts all his problems into God's deep sea, he finds peace. We all have sorrows and situations that we don't understand. When we bring these things to God, he takes the bitterness out of the situation and gives us hope. Once church was over, we headed home and enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship with friends from church. We had a wonderful time and give thanks for a day blessed by the Lord. I think this song goes well with my husbend's sermon. It is Well With My Soul God is good.

Baby Showers

Today we had the pleasure of attending a baby shower for some people very dear to us. Jaleese and Andrew not only are a very cute couple, but they are what I like to call real people. We had a blast and enjoyed lots of laughs. I had a tug at my heart moment, I want to cry my eyes out for a split second. RJ has never had the joy of watching my be pregnant up to birth. I stood back and watched as he tapped on Jaleese's belly in an effort to communicate with her baby. My heart cried out because I want him to have that experience with his own sibling. I know God is able and there are times that I just don't understand. I am glad that he did have a moment with Jaleese and her soon to be baby boy. Maybe he will get a chance again, for my husband is preaching at their church tomorrow. In everything I give thanks...even when it hurts just a bit inside my heart. God is still good.

Sky Soup

Today the sky was what I like to call sky soup. When I went to pick up RJ from school it was so thick I could hardly see in front of me. Then out of nowhere the sky opened up and we had thunder, lightning and rain all combined with the fog. It was super crazy weather. I give thanks for tomorrow the sun will be shining and the weather will be warm. Word is that more snow is coming..I will not think on these things, I will focus on the baby shower I am attending and the lovely sun that will be shining. God is good.

Peaceful Sleep

This morning I had a wonderful time at RJ's breakfast with the parents at his school. The children sang to us and showed us their latest art work. Overall it was a wonderful event. Today when I picked RJ up from school, he was very tired. This was due to the fact that we had been up most of the night because he was having a nightmare. While he was in the middle of this at 2am, I very gently placed my hand on his forehead and prayed in Jesus name that peace would come. Right after I did this, in his sleep he called out JESUS and then went into a peaceful sleep. Of course I was already awake and it took me a while to fall back asleep myself. When he awoke this morning, he told me that he had been having bad dreams all night, but in his dream when he called on the Name of the Lord, the bad dream went away. I was thankful to hear him say this. Thus, while on the way home from school, I was not surprised when RJ in the middle of singing a song on the top of his lungs fell asleep. When we arrived home, he climbed on the couch and slept until after 8 pm. He awoke, ate something and went back to bed. He asked if I could read the Bible and I did. He is sound asleep and it's a peaceful sleep. I am sure part of his sleeping so much is due to growing pains, he did mention his leg had that growing feeling again. Most likely when he awakes he will be an inch taller. I will share a scripture from our reading and will wish you a goodnight at well. Psalms 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. God is good.

Happy Rain

I want to say how happy I am that it rained today. It was a joy to watch it wash away a good chunk of the snow. We still have a lot of snow and ice left over, but the rain was a welcome sight. It was also good to see my son back in school. He likes being home, but when he goes to school, he has a pep in his step. I'm hoping that by the time Bob comes home, most of the rain will have washed away. Tomorrow is a parent breakfast at RJ's school. I look forward to the school events. My not so little boy is growing up fast and I want to cherish him as much as I can in this age. God is good.

Where Your Focus Is

Tonight as I was tucking RJ into bed he was asking if good people can become bad or can bad people become good. I told him that this can happen. He wanted to know why good people become bad. I told him that we all have a choice and some people just decide they would rather be bad than good. He was not happy about this answer and it really bothered him. I told him the important thing is not focus on the bad, but to focus on the good. It's better to keep your eyes on God and the good people around you, this way you won't feel so sad. He agreed that was better and fell right to sleep. I thought about this and realized I needed to repent. I have been so grumpy about this snow that it just seems to never end. Yet, today, when I looked up there was a beautiful sun set. When I look at my driveway I see a block of ice that you could probably skate least my car does when I back out or pull into the driveway..let's not talk about trying to walk on it. When I stopped getting upset about the ice, I looked up and there was a Cardinal in the tree singing a song, a reminder to hang in there, Spring is coming with all it's beauty. I have a choice, I can focus on the negatives, or I can focus on the positives. When I looked at the bird and the sunset, I could feel the grumpiness melt away. Your day all depends on where your focus is. God is good.

Davis, White and Sergei

I have been a avid fan of figure skating since I was a child. I grew up watching Ekaterina and Sergei win medals and competitions on the ice. Since them I have never seen anyone who could bring the magic of the music to life on the ice, until today. I watched in awe as Charlie White and Meryl Davis skated a breathtaking performance. Once again I was a little girl eyes glued to the skaters and they flowed in unison to the music. They deserved the gold medal and I am so glad to see such wonderful skating again. God is good.

Music from the snow

We have had a lot of snow lately. Last night we had about 2 or so more inches fall, it was enough that church was canceled due to an unplowed parking lot. Being snowed in, I was doing some internet surfing and came across a music video. I don't know much about the movie it comes from, Disney’s Frozen. I guess it's clear I have all boys in the house. Either way, I was mesmerized by the lead girl's voice (Lexi Walker) and the beauty of the backup choir. I would like to share it with you. Please enjoy "Let It Go" sung by the One Voice Children's choir. You can view it here. God is good.

Tabby Came In

A while back I talked about a cat that we feed and have been trying to get to come into the house. It has been a brutal winter and we are thankful that we built a little shelter that has been keeping him warm and dry from the snow. Tonight he came into the house. We were pretty excited and were hoping he would stay. However as soon as the door was going to be shut he was out as quick as he could go. He sat outside the door looking in and then walked away to his little shelter we had made for him. We will keep trying to win his trust and show him he doesn't need to stay out in the cold. Maybe, one day he will come in and stay in. God is good.

Valentines 2014

This morning the Love Bug made her appearance and left gifts behind for Ross and RJ. Presently they are building the LEGO set that was left for them and have already eaten their Valentines Chocolate. My Valentine and I had a wonderful dinner this evening and he gave me a lovely heart box of chocolates and a very nice card. It was not so long ago that I was single and I am thankful for my husband. Single life was great, married life is even better. I thank God for being my first love and is still the lover of my soul. I appreciate my husband for all he does and for being an amazing father to our son and husband to me. God is good.

Beautiful Oops

Yesterday we had a parent teacher conference with RJ's teacher. She has truly brought out the best in RJ and we are so thankful for her. She was telling us about a book one of the upper grade teachers brought in called The Beautiful Oops, written by Barney Saltz. You can see a YouTube clip of it here. The book had a big impact on RJ since he is very hard on himself if he makes a mistake. Today it all tied in for him as we were watching the Olympics live online. One of the Figure Skaters for the USA, Jeremy Abbot fell very hard while in competition. RJ was holding his breath to see what Jeremy would do, would he get back up and continue skating or would he give up on his dreams. When Jeremy got up and went right back into skating, RJ was cheering him on. Then when he placed first, for that moment, RJ was screaming and jumping up and down in excitement. He was yelling, he did a beautiful oops! Dear Mr. Jeremy Abbot, we may never meet you, but today I thank you. Your getting up and not giving up taught my son a valuable lesson about not giving up and giving your best when you get back up. God is good.

The Coffee Pot

The past couple of days have been rough. Bob has done well and taken it in stride, me well if you read my blog yesterday you will know I had a moment. Bob made a comment to my mom that he will make it through just as long as he can have a cup of coffee. Well, as life would have it, our coffee maker broke this morning. It was one of those, wow can we ever get a break moments. My husband being a man of great faith decided that he was not going to let this happen. So, he anointed the coffee maker with oil prayed over it and wallah..the coffee maker started to work again. Cup of coffee in one hand, Bible in the other, we are going to make it because God is with us. God is good.

Wipe the Tears

We have not had our home care group for a while due to the bad weather that has been slamming NY. We decided to have it tonight and I will say it was nice to see everyone. Today was a rough day for me. We are going through some things and I was really try to keep on the positive side and not lose focus. Today I had a rough day and I cried. I'm human and I won't always have a smile on my face and I cry easy anyways..but today was not one of my better days. I know God is with me because I can feel him surrounding me. My faith in God is not gone, I just hit a bump in the road and cried. Until this trial we are going through passes, I will probably have more crying moments..I'm just thankful I have a God who comes and picks me up wipes my tears and helps me to keep going. God is good.

Why You Need the Holy Ghost

Yesterday Pastor Davis preached a sermon titled “Why You Need the Holy Ghost". His main text was taken from Acts 1:4-5. Pastor believes we are living in the last days and will be facing perilous times. We must be prepared and ready to face all kinds of things. He believes the church will continue to stand and will not back down when the pressure becomes great. He challenged us to not become mainstream like a lot of churches and to seek the old paths. He then went on to preach his sermon. Jesus gives specific instructions and commands the disciples to wait until they received the Holy Ghost, John 3:37-39 (CEV). In this day and age some say the Holy Ghost is a simple gift or power or it's for only those in the ministry. Some say it's for those who chose to receive it. The Holy Ghost that Jesus was talking about is something for everyone. It’s more than an, experience it for your salvation. The Apostles were persecuted for preaching about Jesus. They would be imprisoned and when they were released they would go back to preaching the same salvation message. Acts 5:32 Acts 1:4 John 7:39 explain to us why the Holy Ghost is necessary and is the grace of God for mankind. He then read from Colossians 1:27 and John 3:5. Jesus established that we must be born of the water and the spirit, you can't enter into the Kingdom of God without this. John 3:8 talks about the spirit being a sound. When someone is being born again, receiving the Holy Ghost, there is a sound that happens. In every instance in the Bible, when someone received the Holy Ghost, they spoke in tongues. This was the sound, the evidence of the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in man. In Acts 10:44-45 and Acts 2:38-40 when Peter spoke the Holy Ghost fell on all that heard the word. He heard them speak in tongues and magnified God. Therefore speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost. When you are filled with God's spirit there is a change that takes place in your life. You are no longer the same. Being born of the water and spirit is not works, it's obedience to the word of God. The same Holy Ghost that fell on the day of Pentecost and filled those in the upper room, is the same Holy Ghost that falls today and fills us. Ephesians 1:13 and I Corinthians 12:13 and II Timothy 2:19. When you are filled with the Holy Ghost you are wearing the seal of God on your life. When the devil sees you with the seal, he knows you are under the blood of Jesus and you are a child of Christ. When you are filled with the Holy Ghost, you have power to overcome the devil and temptation. Jesus is coming back, when He comes we will rise in the twinkling of the eye. God is good!

The Main Thing

Today Pastor Davis preached a really good sermon titled "Why You Need The Holy Ghost". I will be sharing it with you tomorrow. Usually on Sunday's The Bishop of our church will get up and give a short exhortation to the church. It was so good and something that really encouraged me today. He quoted Bro. Tenney in saying “The main thing is to keep the main thing, the main thing." He then said that he decided a long time ago that he wanted to make it to Heaven. Sometimes we can lose sight of what is important and can only see what is happening in front of us. Things can be very rough and we feel like giving up. He shared a story about how there was a time that they didn't have much money. It had been snowing a lot and he would go out every night and empty out the water from his radiator because he didn't have enough money to buy a gallon of antifreeze. If he didn't empty the water it would freeze his engine. So on a nightly bases he would do this until it was not cold anymore. This man and his wife and children went through a lot and gave up a lot for the sake of a call. He came to New York to start a church because God told him to do it. He obeyed and even through the rough times he didn't give up and kept walking forward one step at a time. He encouraged us today to not let ourselves become bogged down by what's happening now, but to hold out and stay focused on God. When we do this, we can make it to heaven and hear those wonderful words of “Well done thou good and faithful servant." God is good.

Winter Olympics

I happen to be a fan of the Winter Olympics. There is one sport that I really enjoy watching and that is Ice Skating. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to me, this is a true sport. They need to be physically fit and have grace all at the same time. I watched some of the competition today online and I was truly mesmerized by the Russian skaters. Of course I was rooting for USA, however the Russian Skaters have in my mind stolen the show. I look forward to seeing what the rest of the week brings. Tomorrow is church and I am looking forward to being at Bethel. God is good.

Tonight RJ wanted me to read from his Grampy's Bible. I opened up to the book of Psalms and decided to read to him something that had been highlighted. Psalms 145:12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. 13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. 14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. 15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. 16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. 17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. 18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. 19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. 20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. And Psalms 146:2 While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God: 6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: Wise words in highlites from a wise man who walked with God. Thankful to have these treasures to pass on to my son. God is good.

The Principal Thing

Tonight Bro Ralph taught a very good lesson on needing wisdom and knowledge from God. His title was “The Principal Thing" based from Proverbs 4:7. Everyone in their beginning of their walk with God needs to grow. The principal thing or most importantis to seek first wisdom and knowledge that comes from the Lord. He gave several reasons why these two were so important. When we have Godly wisdom it become vital to how we view the world and are able to see God's words and truth in the right way. To get wisdom and understanding we need to first receive it from God. When we have it we need to protect it and humble ourselves before the Lord. We must apply it to our life and lift our voice and seek out God's wisdom. When we come to God with a childlike faith, He will hear us and answer us; Mark 10:15-16. We need to make sure we position ourselves where we can receive from God, if we do not we can fill our lives with things that will distract us from seeking after Him. In Job 28:28 we learn that the fear of the Lord brings wisdom. Most of all we need to know God for ourselves. We cannot base our walk with God from someone else’s experiences. We must seek him out and truly know him. He then talked about Abraham and Lot. They spent a lot of time together, but went about different ways of knowing God. Abraham sought after God and became known as a friend of God. Lot knew of Abraham's God, but never knew him for himself. Abraham is known for great things, Lot is not. The principal thing is to seek for wisdom and understanding, God will give it to you. God is good.

Snow Day #3

I think this the third snow day of the year..I'm not sure since I have lost count due to all the snow we have had this winter. RJ and Ross of course were thrilled to be able to stay home. This snow day however was spent inside and there was no outside play. Over the night we got about an extra 3 inches of snow on top of the snow that was already there. Then we had a mix of rain, sleet and snow. Today was not a day to have RJ outside making a snow fort, that is for sure. We are hearing reports that more snow is on the way. Snow or no snow,I have enjoyed my day with RJ. We baked a large heart shaped brownie. I guess you can say we love Valentines Day in our house. God is good.

Love Bug 2014

Today I drove very slowly on my way to take RJ to school. The main roads were pretty clear, but the side roads were like driving on ice. I have a Subaru and it has all wheel drive, but let me tell you, this was least for me it was. Thankfully we arrived there in one piece and I got home as safely as I could and became the Love Bug. I had a lot of fun decorating the house with hearts and other Valentine themed items. When I picked RJ up from school, he kept saying how excited he was about the Love Bug. I'm happy to say he was thrilled...however while we were away another Love Bug snuck in (daddy) and added his own touch. I think this year's Love Bug has been a hit. God is good.

Snowday Fort

We didn't realize until yesterday that a snowstorm was coming our way. We had so much snow that the schools were closed and declared a snow day. RJ and Ross had a great time going on what RJ called an Alaskan Adventure from the front yard to the back yard. Then they built a fort for Mozart,I don't think Mozart appreciated their hard work, he wanted to be in a warmer house. To warm up after a time in the cold snow, RJ and I baked chocolate chip cookies. We had a wonderful snow day. RJ was actually asking in prayer that he could go to school tomorrow. I know why...every February the Love Bug stops by and decorates the house for Valentines Day while he is in school. The snow kept the Love Bug away today, so I think that is why he wants to go. God is good.

When God Remembers

Today we had communion to commemorate the ending of our time of fasting and prayer. The place was packed and the sense of destiny was in the air. We know that great things are to come from this time. Pastor Davis’s sermon was titled “When God Remembers, Everything Changes." His text was taken from Genesis 7:15-24 and 8:1. Noah obeyed God, built an Ark and then spent 382 days floating and waiting. Pastor brought something interesting up, the Bible doesn't mention anything about Noah hearing from God while they were in in the Ark. He built it, got inside and waited for further instructions. When we read the part in scripture where it says God remembered Noah, we tend to think that it means God forgot about Noah. This is not true because in the Bible it tells us that God does not lie and when He keeps a promise, He keeps it. What we see here is that the time had come for God to finally move and when He did, everything changed for Noah. While we are in our time of waiting it will seem as if God has forgotten us and that He no longer hears us. Yet, when God moves, He moves quickly and He amazes us. When God spoke again to Noah He gave a promise to never flood the whole earth again with a Rainbow. No matter what you are going through if God has given you a promise, continue to obey His word and trust in Him. He will bring it to pass when the time has come for it to be so,for when God remembers everything changes. When Pastor was finished with his sermon, we had a time of prayer and then followed it with communion. RJ really wanted to take communion today and since he received the Holy Ghost this past summer, we felt it would be ok. He prayed earnestly and took communion very seriously. I could see he took in every word and prayer spoken by Pastor Davis. I'm thankful for the leadership of Bethel and I truly believe we have great things in store for us.The best part of today was that 7 people were baptized in Jesus name! God is good.

Letting Go

Today I had the joy of attending a baby shower for a young lady I attend church with. It was a wonderful time and we truly were celebrating the miracle of life God is blessing them with. When I came home, I found my living room completely rearranged and the piano that had been in the basement was now where the love seat used to be. I like the change and this prompted me to realize it was time to fully let go. I have spent the past 3 hours or so going through all of RJ's clothes. A while back we got rid of all our baby items, but I held on to the clothes. We truly believe God is going to give us another child, letting go does not diminish this hope. I have enjoyed finding his tiny socks and shoes and have put a container full aside of his "favorites". The rest will go to the local Salvation Army and be of use again. My heart aches to do this, yet I know it must be done and it's time. My dreams of another child are in the hands of an all knowing God and if he wills it, a child will come. God is good.
