It was so wonderful to wake up this morning in my home and in my own bed. We woke up this morning excited about attending church today. I have to say, church was amazing. If you recall a while back I asked for prayer for a young boy who the doctors discovered a tumor in his brain. The church prayed for him and believed that God was going to perform a miracle. Today pastor told us that this past week, the boy went in for a check up on the tumor. The doctors began to panic because the tumor was gone! God had healed the boy of the tumor. Needless to say, the whole place erupted in a roar of praise and worship. Pastor preached an outstanding sermon titled "God's Appointed Time". He based it from Galatians 4:1-5 and Exodus 9:5. When God's appointed time comes, nothing can stop His will from coming to pass. There are special times, seasons that are appointed by God. We need to recognize that these are special moments in our life and they will not come by us again. With God the best is yet to come. In the Bible it talks about how the latter rain of God's spirit will be greater than the former. We are to anticipate what God has in store for us and allow God to move like never before in our lives. Pastor also talked about how at times we may seem to be in a holding pattern and nothing seems to be happening. If we trust in God, He will keep us during this season and in His appointed time, we will have a breakthrough. All in all, the service was amazing and everyone kept worshiping over the miracle that took place. We serve a miracle working God! God is Good!

Yesterday RJ and I said our goodbyes and headed back to VA. Today we visited Bob at the company and then we all went swimming. Our evening was a surprise since the company was being given an award from the Mayor for being the best middle sized company in the county. It was an honor to receive the award. The best part for me was the fact that it was done picnic style. So stress free. Everyone was very kind and it was very relaxing. Tomorrow we will head back to NY. It has been wonderful here. We are looking forward to heading back home.
God is good.

Today we drove to Nashville to see the Gaylord Opreyland Hotel. We had a good time exploring and enjoyed the variety in flowers. Also, we took a ride on a boat tour through the hotel. Tonight RJ attended the classes for children and I was told he had a blast. Since today is their midweek Bible study,my mom and I joined them. The lesson was taught by Bro Kevin on carrying your cross. He challenged everyone to be true Christians and to carry the cross that God gives you to carry. We are to stand up and be salt and light in this world and not be ashamed of being a follower of Christ. Living for God in our lifestyle and loving others is the best example of Christ we can be. All in all it was a good day. Tomorrow we will head back to Virginia and get ready to head back home to NY.
God is good!

Today we had a lot of fun at Chucky Cheese with my Mom, David and Ross. They had a blast playing all the games and running around being silly. It just so happens that there is a kids event taking place this week at the church my mom attends, The Pentecostals of Murfreesboro. They graciously allowed RJ to sign up for today and tomorrow. When we dropped him off he was pretty excited, when we picked him up he was still excited. Needless to say already we have had a fun time today. It's always good to be with family. God is good!

This morning RJ and I headed down the mountain to visit my mom. The ride took a bit longer then we thought, but we made it. We had lots of fun making up our own Bluegrass music. Our visit will be a short one,so we will make the most of our time. It's always good to see my mommy.

Today we attended the Sunday morning service at McVeigh United Pentecostal Church. Bro Crum taught a lesson on compassion and restoration in the church. It was clear to me that he has a deep love for people. His point was that if we stay in the will of God we will be ok, but if we stray from the path, restoration can be found in Gods house.
When we returned to The Breaks Bob and RJ joined a friend and went fishing. RJ was the only one to catch a fish. He was excited about it but said it took too long. The rest oif the evening was spent together as a family. To end the night we watched a red moon rise. Breathtakingly beautiful. God is good!

Today was a very active day. In the morning Bob and RJ went on a hike and then later a swim in the pool. In the afternoon there was a civil war reenactment. RJ was picked from the crowd to fire from a real civil war rifle. RJ being from NY was the Yankee that set the salves free. He was very excited to shoot that gun! We ended our evening by having dinner with Jody and Carrie ( friends of ours who live here) I really enjoyed our time with them. To top it off we had frozen yogurt at a yummy place called the sweet frog.

Today was a very exciting day. We started off the day by getting a lesson on how to shoot a rifle. RJ said it was not for him and I on my second try shot the target right on, never knew I was such a good shot. The rest of the day was filled with hiking and swimming. Bob and RJ went exploring and discovered an awesome lake on top of a mountain. They wanted to show it to me and as we were headed there we passed a little church with a sign that said "A Fire on the Mountain". We decided to stop and check it out. The little church was closed for a long time and was just recently opened again. The preacher was very passionate and drove 6 hours to share his heart and Gods love with those who were in attendance. It was so wonderful to hear someone with a love for the people up here. I cry every time I come here. There is such an empty look in a lot of their eyes and many have lost all hope. Jesus truly is the answer and it was wonderful to see someone has a love and a desire to bring the hope of Christ and the fire of the Holy Ghost back to the mountain. Such a wonderful and unexpected surprise. God is with us. God is good!

Today we had a lot of fun. RJ and I spent most of the day in the pool and discovered some new trails. Later in the evening I had some quiet time and watched the sun set over the mountains.
As I watched the pink hue sky cover the mountains and listened to the birds singing, I began to weep at the majestic of our creator. Everything was so detailed and perfect in its design. God does all things well. If He can give such detail to the earth, how much more does He give to me? Today I am in awe of God.

We arrived pretty late last night so I didn't blog. This morning we woke up to our heads in the clouds. We are so high up that we are surrounded by the majestics of Gods creation. I love coming here and our little boy does too. He was so excited that he was literally bouncing off the walls. Today we hiked and played on all the playgrounds. We ended our night by attending Mcveigh United Pentecostal Church. As we drove deep into coal country to get to the church I was reminded once again how much the livelihood of the people here rely on coal. My heart goes out to the families in this area. Their struggles are very real and they are hard working with good hearts.

We are looking forward to spending time in the Appalachian mountains over the next two weeks. Bob needs to be there for work so we are tagging along. I'm thankful for my neighbors who are house sitting for us and for Andrea from the office for taking care Mozart. It's going to be a fun time and I'm sure full of adventures.
God is good!

This morning RJ woke his daddy up with a hug and a kiss accompanied with a cup of coffee. I was super excited for him to open his gifts since I managed to find him a hand held egg beater. He and RJ made breakfast together. At church we heard an outstanding sermon by Bro Jonathan Walker. His title was " It's ok ... Daddy's here. He preached about how we have a Heavenly Father and we are adopted and that makes us his heir. He talked about the importance of the father in the home and how the head of the home is to be the dad. I started to give thanks for my adopted dad. When I was younger I didn't like Father's Day. My biological dad was not so nice and I usually ended up crying. Today I sat in church next a man who is an excellent father to our son. He leads Rj by example. In my heart I was filled with love for my adopted dad. He filled a huge gap in my life. I have always known God as my Heavenly Father. I longed for an earthly dad to show me how a dads love was to be. I found that in Steve Brollier. I give thanks today that my Heavenly Father heard his daughters heart cry and gave

Today a group of RJ's classmates and church friends came over for a Welcome Summer playdate. It has been raining a lot and I was praying for the sun to come out. Thankfully, today it was a sunny day and warm enough to bring out the slip n slide and kiddy pool. The kids had a blast getting wet and running around the back yard. These kids are a special group of kids and have grown extremely close over the years. Even though they all will not be attending the same school next year, we plan to stay close and get together as much as possible. I'm thankful for this sun-filled fun day, it was a great way to start off our summer. God is Good!

Today R.J. had his Moving Up Day ceremony and he graduated from Kindergarten. Our morning started off with breakfast in the classroom and we had the pleasure of listening to our boy read out loud a little book he wrote about himself. Bob and I were so happy to see how far he has come and how much he has learned in a year. More than that, he was full of confidence and read loud and clear for all to hear. After all the children read their books, we moved to the meeting house for the moving up ceremony. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. The Kindergartners sang "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong and another very cute song. At the very end, the K-2nd graders come together and sang a multi-language song, it was so beautiful. We said our goodbyes and went home. R.J. is excited for summer and of course it was not hard for him to leave today since, most of his school friends are coming over tomorrow for a welcome summer play-date. Next year RJ will be attending a different school, so for me saying goodbye was hard. I really loved his school/staff. Thankfully, he will be going to an amazing school next year and some of his classmates will be there as well. For now, we are going to enjoy our summer and bask in the memory of a beautiful Kindergarten graduation. God is Good!

As I type we are getting slammed with a pretty strong storm. It's very windy and a lot of rain is coming down. I am hoping and praying that our power does not go out and no trees fall. Tomorrow is RJ's graduation, so I would like it to be a happy and smooth day. Tonight Bro. Tom taught on why Jesus prayed. It was pretty good and I wish I had taken better notes, but I had a splitting headache, so I stopped taking notes. I can share what I remember. Prayer is very important, it keeps us plugged into God. Jesus (the man) prayed to be an example to us and because He was human(while still being God) needed to pray just like everyone else. In the entire lesson, something stood out for me. When Jesus prayed, He was honest. When we pray, we need to truly be honest in what we are saying and praying about. It' so easy to put on a facade to those around us, but with God, we can truly be real and transparent. God is good!

On Friday R.J. will be graduating from Kindergarten. I realized that tomorrow is his last real day of school in this grade. He has come such a long way and I'm am very glad to see the boy he is becoming. This school year has gone by very quickly and I know it's a taste of how quickly the next 12 years of school are going to fly by. I'm thankful for all our cuddle moments and for his look of joy every time he got off the bus. This has been a special year and I pray we have many more to come. God is good!

Tonight's care group lesson was the third part of the Narrow and straight way. At the end there was a discussion question asking what makes the Narrow Way unpopular. When the question was asked, I started to think about the way society lives in general. More and more it's becoming a have it your way life. The more outlandish you are dressed and the more "free" you are in the way you live you life is the way to be. I try to live my life in the exact opposite of this "free" way. I find the Narrow Way much more appealing and less complicated. God's word gives us direction and a clear path to take. For me, there are not uncertainties and I am living a very happy life. The 10 commandments are awesome and when we apply them to our lives combined with being filled with the Acts 2:38 experience, wow..what a life to live! The more my life is a Christ Filled life, the more I am not like the rest of society. I can stand up and shout from the rooftops, take this whole world, but give me Jesus! I am not ashamed to walk the Narrow Way and I am so glad Jesus is walking it with me. God is Good!

Today RJ went to the dentist to get another filling for a second cavity. He seems to really like the assistants and gets real chatty with them during prep. Today he went all out and point blank asked the dental assistant if she knew God. He told her about how you can't see Him, but Jesus is in his (RJ's) heart. I would say for a good five minutes he talked with her about God. I was in the waiting room, so I couldn't see how she was responding, but everyone could hear him witnessing to her. Bob again gets the daddy of the year award for being with RJ will he got his filling. He was a brave boy and this momma is super proud of her boy for being a light to the dentist. God is Good!

Today the Wilbanks sang at church today. RJ chose to not go to Sunday School, so he could hear them sing. Monica has a very jazzy style to her and when she sang one of her solo's it sounded a lot like scat to RJ and he got so excited he said he wanted to jump up and tap dance. Overall the music was good and I have to say I was really touched by Sis. Wilbanks' testimony. The most touching part of today was when Bro. Cook asked a young man to come to the platform. One of our youth has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and he is needing a miracle. The whole church prayed for him and we are believing for a miracle. God is good!

Tonight RJ attended a birthday party for two little girls(sisters). One of them happens to be his little girlfriend and was very excited to attend her party. It's always nice when all the kids get together. I enjoyed chatting with the parents and watching the kids have a blast baking. Tomorrow at church we will have a guest singing group known as The Wilbanks Singers. I really like their music and so does RJ..so I have a feeling he won't be going to Sunday School tomorrow. If you live in the area, please feel free to join us, our services start at 12 in the afternoon. God is Good!

On Friday's RJ and I have our date days. More often than not, RJ will talk about what is bothering him or what stood out the most for him this week at school. Today he was quiet and enjoying his brownie and chocolate milk. I was trying to think of how to get him to start talking when he looks at me with a very serious face and says." Mom..Santa messed up big time." Me:" Um...ok...what did he do wrong?" RJ " Well..I really, really, really wanted the scooby doo haunted house with all the goo and he didn't get it for me. So, he really messed up." Me:" Well, Santa can't get you everything you asked for, so he didn't mess up." RJ " No mom..he messed up." I guess you can't change the mind of a 5 year old in some things. Side note to the reader, "Santa" knew he wanted that house, but decided a bike would be of better use and he got a really cool castle too. God is Good!

Tonight Bro. Ralph taught our mid-week Bible study. His topic was To Know Wisdom. He based it from Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding. Wisdom is a valuable commodity we can not put a value to. The Biblical concept of wisdom is from God and is available for all who want it. Wisdom from God can come spiritually and from having a healthy and Godly fear(respect) of the Lord. God's wisdom is practical and speculative. Wisdom is the key to a successful outcome in life. When we have Godly wisdom, it helps us to see how God sees a situation and how to respond in the right way. God is good!

Today was a baby day. We babysat a sweet baby girl and it was fun to watch R.J. interact with her. She clicked with him immediately and if he left the room she would start looking and cooing for him until she could see his face. When he went to do his homework she started to cry a little, so he came back and she was so happy to see him again. We had fun taking silly pictures with her and trying to get her to laugh. It was really nice to have a baby around again. I'm glad to see how well behaved R.J. was with her. We will gladly babysit her again. Also, today some friends of ours just received news that the foster child they been trying to adopt, has been approved and they will be able to keep him. We are so happy and ecstatic for them. Two years of prayers have been answered for them. God is Good!

Our Tuesday night Care Group leaders are Bro. Robert and Sis. Sherry. A while back Sis Sherry's father moved in with them. He has Parkinson's disease. Lately it has gotten worse for him, yet he still gives more than what he's got physically to the Lord in worship. When I see him getting blessed in church or during prayer at our group, it always brings tears to my eyes. Bro. Bill truly has been fighting the good fight of faith. His body is failing him, yet his spirit is very strong. He has not been doing so well and I would like to ask you, if you are a praying person to say a prayer for him tonight before you go to sleep. Also, pray for Bro. Robert and Sis. Sherry as well. I know God is with them, I pray that Bro. Bill will mount up on wings as eagles, and that he will run and not faint. God is Good!

Today RJ had his first cavity filled and I have to say I was one proud mommy. The dentist was surprised at how well our 5 year old behaved. I am sure a huge part of it had to do with the fact that RJ had his daddy with him and daddy held his hand the whole time. Yes, Bob wins the daddy of the year award. Also, today is my mommy's birthday. I am so thankful for her. No matter how poor we were or what type of living situation we were in, she had a way of making it fun. I appreciate her and am thankful for her faith in God. My earliest memory of her is at the age of 4 peeking in on her while she was praying. I listened to her praying for me. She did that my whole life. Even when I was in college, I would peek in on her and hear her praying for me. Thank you mom for always walking with God no matter how rough life became and thank you for loving me unconditionaly. Happy Birthday! God is Good!

Today we had a guest speaker, Bro. Guidroz from Texas. His sermon was based on the blood of Jesus and how it can cover any sin. He gave a lot of examples from the Bible where God's blood atoned for many things. He then tied it to where Jesus died on the cross and the blood that was shed to cover all sins. He talked about how going to church is a way to have a supernatural encounter with God. When we all come together there are Angels present to minister. He also gave an example of how when Jesus forgives us He goes down to hell and take our name from hell and places it in the book of life in Heaven. Overall, it was a very good church service and I always like it when Shalah and Geraldine sing solos for the choir and since they both sang it was a double treat today. Also, Jeremy came over today and we enjoyed his company as well. We had our first BBQ of the summer and I think it turned out perfect. God is good!

R.J. happens to be very fascinated with ships and of course being a boy that ties in with a curiosity about pirates. Since Bob was gone for most of this past week, he decided to do something extra special and they took the train into the city. R.J. is a fan of The Odyssey Explore and it just so happens they have an exhibit open right now at the Discovery Museum in Times Square. Thankfully his hives are doing much better and they had a blast. Maybe one day R.J. will actually get to see the Odyssey..now that would be a treat. Either way, Daddy day was a success. God is Good!
