Today was a day of doing it unto the least of these. The first part of my day was focused on ministry for my church family at a funeral. When I arrived home ,we got the missionaries to Lesotho, settled into our home and from there headed to NJ. We have a friend who lost her husband this past summer. She is elderly and very lonely. We enjoyed our time with her and know we need to check in on her more often. As we got in the car I remembered where Jesus said that when you do it to the least of these you have done it unto me.
God is good .

When I read this scripture today I thought of several people who have lost loved ones to sickness. Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. This scripture is so easy to read and give to those who are grieving, yet when it's you or someone close to you..it's a challenge to swallow. There are times in life when things happen that we just don't seem to understand. Then I remember this scripture and I know it's true because I have experienced it for myself. Psalms 30: 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Weeping does come, but when we truly trust God beyond what we feel or think...the tears we shed will be replaced with joy. God is good!

Today was one of those Sundays where it truly was like a taste of heaven here on earth. Pastor Davis preached an anointed sermon and there was a tongues and interpretation that took place and from there the presence of God was so strong that we ended up having an alter call for those who were needing healing in their body. Pastor preached from Joshua 6 and Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. He talked about how we have many situations that come into our life. There are situations that for us seem impossible and when we began to think that we are never going to see a change even though we have prayed and prayed. If the Bible tells us that with God nothing shall be impossible, then we must believe, for if we don't, we are calling God a liar. If He said it, then He can and will do it. Pastor said something that struck me..he said that the only way to get from your past to your future is to go through an impossibility. Your past or even your present is telling you that the situation is impossible, but when God is in it, it's not impossible for Him. Sometimes our lack of faith stands in the way and we don't allow God to be God. The doctors told us we were "lucky" to have RJ..but I say to them..with God nothing is impossible. My ENT has told me I'm at borderline hearing aid level. I have failed every hearing test ever given to me, yet today I say with God nothing is impossible. My ears have been popping all day. I went up for prayer today believing that God is going to give me my hearing back...you know what..the world is a little bit louder to me today..why, because the God I serve is the God of the impossible. God is Good!

Every year we like to go to Planting Fields Arboretum to enjoy the beauty of spring. Today we went and I think it was the prettiest we have ever seen it. God's masterpiece was on display everywhere we looked. We decided that today was a piece of heaven here on earth. Tomorrow we will go to church and once again we will have a piece of Heaven on earth..the praises of God's people. God is Good!

Last night Pastor Davis taught a very good lesson on hearing the voice of God. He used the analogy from the book of Luke talking about the different types of ground that a seed is planted in. There are several types of soil and in each type the seed takes on a different form. Spiritually we are a type of soil and we can fall into many types of ground. 1. Wayside where the seed does not take root. Our hearts are hardened towards the voice of God and we do not want Him in our life. Also fear, pride, bitterness and anger can cause our heart to become hard and we can no longer hear Him. 2. Rocky soil. this soil does not get moisture and the plant wither and dies. If we are not having a daily walk with God, we can become dry and eventually die out. 3. Thorny ground is where there are roots, but the cares of life start to choke us and take our focus off of God. When this happens, our mind is filled with all the things around us and eventually we can no longer hear His voice. Pastor challenged us to make sure we don't allow ourselves to become soil that no longer hears the voice of God. We need to make sure that He is a part of our daily life and sometimes we need to turn off the noise in our life and focus on God. When we do this, we will be able to hear His voice. God is Good!

Pastor preached a really good lesson tonight at church. I will share it with you tomorrow. Tonight I want to share with you something that RJ said. He woke up this morning and joined his dad for morning prayer and the first thing he said was: "Daddy does your company give money to the poor or does it just spend it all on it's self." It was such an unexpected question especially since he literally had just got out of bed. We knew this was one of those out of the mouth of babes moment. Needless to say the company will be doing something for the poor in the not too distant future. It was an eye awakening moment..what are we doing for the poor? Already, RJ and I are going to go through all his toys to give them to a nearby shelter. I give thanks that my son truly has a heart to give and wants to do something for the poor. God is Good!

Today someone in a meeting with my husband said they "felt" like maybe God was getting ready for us to sail into a storm. When my husband told me this I smiled and said he may be right and if we are sailing into a storm, if I see Jesus asleep, I am going to lay down next to Him and go to sleep too. I still have this unbelievable peace in me. Life happens and if there is going to be a storm..I want Jesus on the boat and whatever He is doing and wherever He is..is where I want to be. God is Good!

When I graduated from High School, my mom dedicated a scripture to me. Psalm 122:7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. Tonight I was thinking about this scripture...having peace within my walls. We have a lot of things going on that for us are up in the air. Some of it a couple of weeks ago was causing me to have some major chest pains, to the point I almost went to the hospital. I kept telling myself I am a child of God..I need His peace. His peace came within my walls late at night after fellowship and a church service. I realized God knows exactly where I am at and He is going to guide us to where we are to be. Tonight, I sit here and I have peace within my walls. I leave you with this scripture for it's God's promise to us. May His perfect peace fill your walls as you read this blog. John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. God is Good!

Tonight we had quite a discussion after our Bible reading. We have been reading about Samson in the Bible. RJ wanted to know why Samson died in the end and what was so bad about Delilah. We kept it simple in how we explained it to RJ. After RJ went to bed these were the thoughts I had on this.Samson was spending time with people who did not love God and fell in love with a girl who didn't follow God. Instead of walking away when he realized what she was trying to do to him, he stayed until she wore him down. Eventually his sin and love for an ungodly girl took away his freedom and removed himself from God's protection. In his death he killed more Philistines then in all his years. Imagine if he had walked away from the wrong love and kept God first. Imagine if he had listened to his family and chosen a girl who had a heart after God. Imagine the great stories that would have been told about Samson. Instead, Samson is a warning of what can happen when you choose the wrong love. Choose wisely who you open you heart to, for they can make you or they can break you. God is Good!

Today we had a guest speaker for our Sunday Service. Bro. Prince Mathiasz, a missionary to India and Asia. His title was " The Thorn Has Roses." He based his sermon on II Corinthians 12:7-10. He talked about how Paul was one of the greatest men in the Bible and did many wonderful things for God. Even in all this, he had something in his life that became a thorn in his side. The Bible tells us that he begged God three times for Him to remove it, yet instead of removing it God tells him that He is using it to show His glory in Paul's life. When Paul hears this, he accepts it and then turns his thorn into something positive. Bro. Mathiasz talked about how with a Rose we see how pretty it is, but always notice that it has thorns. In life we tend to not see the silver lining in our lives and see the negatives more than the positives. We see the thorns that never seem to go away. He challenged us to instead of saying the rose has thorns, to say the thorn has roses. Even if the circumstance does not change, we can look for the beauty to be found in the situation. It was such a deep sermon for me, especially with what I learned regarding my ears, that it's still sinking in. Yes, my ears are deformed..that is a thorn for me..the rose is that I can still hear. I can hear my son's laughter..that for me is a rose. On a side note, the Mathiasz's have a project that they are raising money for. If you would like to give them financial support or give to their project please click here. Also I want to give a shout out to Jeremy, who joined us for dinner today. We had a wonderful time with him. God is Good!

Yesterday Boston was literally in lock-down over one man. An act of violence caused people to be on their guard and the whole world was watching. If that one person was able to do so much with an act of hatred, how much more could be done with actions based on love. Jesus, died on a cross..a complete act of love for you and me. Why can't we show love one to another by "dying" to our own agendas and truly care about those around us. I'm so guilty of this, I get wrapped up in my world and forget that there are people around me who may be hurting. If we would just start loving those around us, imagine how much better the world would be...at least our immediate world that we live in. Jesus love others through me! God is Good!

My ENT called me to give me the CT Scan Results on my ears. He informed me that he has never seen such ear deformities and was not sure how to handle my situation. Well...that was not what I was expecting to hear. I did some research and from what I read, I am one in a million..I knew I was one in a million..but well not in this way. I made some phone calls and was able to make an appointment with one of the best ENT doctors here in New York...yes..there are major pluses to living here. I am hoping he will be able to figure something out that can save my hearing. I thank God for guiding me to this doctor and I pray he will know what to do. God is Good!

This morning RJ was very melancholy. He was really missing his Ima and the rain outside was only making his mood much worse. A very sad boy went to school today. Thankfully the rain went away and the sun began to shine again. When he came home from school, he was in a better mood and by the time we went to bed he was my sweet happy boy again. We both miss my mom..I'm thankful for God's word that can lift you up. I really liked our Bible reading tonight and I am going to share it with you. Psalms 113 Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord! 2 Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forevermore! 3 From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord’s name is to be praised. 4 The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, 6 Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth? 7 He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap, 8 That He may seat him with princes— With the princes of His people. 9 He grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother of children. Praise the Lord! God is Good!

Today my mom went home. Thankfully, her flight was not until this evening and we were able to have one last fun filled day. RJ stayed home from school and we made our annual trip with my mom to the Planting Fields Arboretum. This time of the year the Arboretum is bursting forth with colors and signs of life are springing up everywhere. We had a wonderful time together and were sad to see my mom go. Now the house fees like there is a big empty hole in it. I love having my mom around and I know RJ enjoys her too. God knows what is best and for now, I have lots of pictures or remember her visit by. God is Good!

Today was one of those days that took on a form of it's own. Bob is out of town and tomorrow my mom goes home. The plan was to have RJ stay home and we were going to have a picnic. When we woke up to a cloudy and cold morning, it was decided that RJ would go to school. My mom and I spent the day being lazy..it was nice. Once RJ was home, we went to the mall walked around..just simple things. Tomorrow, no matter the weather, RJ will stay home so he can be with me when I take my mom to the airport. Tonight as RJ was falling asleep, he said something very sweet to me. He said " Mom...for all the gold and jewels..you are my most precious treasure...but you know what..Jesus is the greatest treasure to me." I hugged him tight as he fell asleep and gave thanks for my sweet boy. I then wept inside for the people in Boston who have been struck with such tragedy. We now live in a world where the 10 commandments are being broken on a daily bases. People don't seem to care about living a moral life...today is an example of this. More and more I am reading in the papers of senseless acts of violence, because the person wanted to see what it would look like to take another's life. I look towards the Heavens and plead for Grace and Mercy to follow my family and loved ones. Jesus be a shelter, cover us..I look up for my redemption comes. Jesus come Lord, come quickly I pray! God is Good!

Today pastor preached an amazing sermon on the name of Jesus. I took wonderful notes and when I went to get them out of my purse discovered my little boy, who is now sleeping, had hidden them. Thus, I shall do my best to share it with you from memory. He talked about how in the Old Testament when talking about God's name they would use LORD and also use many descriptive words for what His name was. In the New Testament we are given many scriptures giving us the Name of the LORD which is Jesus. Pastor was talking about the power behind the name of Jesus and when we say it, we are not to use it lightly. When we speak His name, there are three areas that are affected. One being Heaven, second Earth and the third Hell. In Heaven the Angels stand in attention waiting for His command. In Earth, the natural is broken and the supernatural is able to take place. In Hell, the demons flee and chains are loosed. There is power in the Name of Jesus. When you speak it, you loose Angels to move on your behalf and break strongholds here on earth. I believe in the power of the name of Jesus. God is good!

Today we attended a birthday party of one of RJ's very good friends. It was our first time at Adventureland and we all had a blast. Once again it was a large group of friends who are growing up together. Watching them laugh and play and just be kids brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. For RJ it was even more special because his Ima was there to join in the fun. The weather was perfect and the joy felt was genuine. Once again, I was thankful for the family of God. Here we all were enjoying the birth of a wonderful little girl and when we said our goodbyes, it was followed by a " I'll see you in church tomorrow." Living for God brings so much enrichment to your life! Tomorrow we will be together once again in the House of the Lord and together we will praise the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. God is Good!

Today was Grandparents Day at RJ's school. He was so happy that his Ima(my mom) was there with him. When Bob and I arrived at the school to pick my mom up, we were able to sneak in and watch the kids sing to the grandparents. It was very cute and a very special moment. RJ is having a wonderful time with her and we are looking forward to making more happy memories while she is here. God is Good!

Tonight we had special guest speakers. The O'Donnell's are missionaries to Hong Kong and Asia. As I have talked about in previous blogs I love Chinese people so for me tonight was a real treat. I couldn't wait to give Sis. O'Donell a hug, she is one of my heroes. My mom is in town visiting as well, so today was an awesome day for me. Tonight Bro. O'Donnell taught on A Fire Burning within us. He used Psalm 104 with a focus on verse 1-4 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. 2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: 3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: 4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire. He gave story after story about people who have gone through suffering and trials in their life. He talked about how God will allow these things to sometimes be a Fire to burn things out of our life and to also be a light to those around us. By allowing God to show us how to give Him glory while we are in the fire, He is able to work a miracle through us. One of the stories was about a young man from China. In China they are not allowed to worship God freely. He was arrested and while the police officers were getting ready to interrogate him, he realized that this may be the only time these officers will ever have a chance to hear about Jesus. So instead of letting fear take ahold of him, he allowed God to give him boldness and he told them about Jesus. When he was done, they let him go and decided to not arrest him. We in America have it so easy and we are afraid..yes fear, afraid to tell someone about Jesus. The only thing we face is an unkind word, but in China, they will lose their freedom and maybe even their life. How can I be ashamed to not let God shine through me when I have brother's and sisters in China who will risk their life just to read the Bible, just to share Jesus with a fellow Chinese. For God they live and for God they will die. One day I will stand in judgement with them, I will not be afraid or ashamed of Jesus Christ! I say a big thank you to Bro and Sis O'Donnell who have poured years of their life into Hong Kong. Their time is running short for soon freedom to talk about Jesus in Hong Kong will be taken. If you are interested in supporting them and what they are doing, please click here and chose the support us button on their page. God is Good!

Most of today was a gloriously sunny day. As I type this evening April Showers are pouring along with thunder and lightning. RJ has a little joke that I would like to share with you. " April Showers bring May Flowers and what does May Flowers Bring? PILGRIMS!" I thought that was a cute joke. Thankful for the sunshine and thankful for the rain. These are both good in the natural and supernatural! Give thanks in all things..the rain and the sunshine. God is Good!

I am happy to say that Spring has Sprung. Today it was so warm for a minute I thought I was in California. It was so wonderful to soak up the sunshine. When RJ came home from school, he was so excited to see all the flowers starting to pop up that he ran to the backyard and got the hose to make sure they had plenty of water to grow. Sunshine just makes me happier and I was thanking God for it today. God is Good!

Today was such a lovely Spring Day! The sun was shinning, the birds were singing and with it my heart was soaring. I love this time of the year. Living in New York has truly given me a deeper appreciation for the changing of the seasons. Growing up in California, you notice the seasons change, but not much. Today I was soaking up the sunshine and my mood was lifting due to all the buds on the tress and the blooming daffodils. Such life and beauty all around us. Thank you God for the Spring.. a time to remember life and joy does come after cold, darkness and bleakness. God is Good!

Today was Global Missions Sunday at our church. The theme was Heart For The Harvest and the them that seemed to radiate from the songs to the preaching was this question of "Who Will Go?" We had many guest and our speaker was Bro. Howell, who is the Global Missions Director for the United Pentecostal Church International. He preached a wonderful sermon from his heart about how much God cares for us. No matter what you are going through in your life, God cares and He does see and He is working on your behalf. Bro. Howell's love for missions is so evident that it radiates from him. Sometimes I wish I could hand him a ticket and say you can go back to El Salvador and be with the people you love the most. We are grateful for all he has done and is doing for the cause of Global Missions. After an phenomenal church service we enjoyed a great time of fellowship as we walked through the different Regions presented. It was really nice to see people dressed up to represent different nationalities.. We ended our night by having dinner and a great time with our Care Group leader and friends The Farrons. Remember no matter what you are going through, Jesus cares..reach out to Him, you are not alone. God is Good!

This morning while in prayer I asked God to guide my day. I already had a set idea on what I was going to do, but I told the Lord I wanted Him to guide me. Guide me, He did. I was asked to visit someone in the hospital who was related to a person in my care group. When I got to the hospital I discovered that she was also my neighbor. We had a wonderful chat and I prayed with her. When we had finished praying the other patient sweetly asked me to pray for her too and wanted to know all about our church. Going to the hospital took up a big chunk of my day and I was not able to do all I had planned, yet it was a perfect turn of events. There are times when we stand at a Crossroad and we have a choice on which path to take. In my crossroad today, I allowed God to guide my steps. I'm thankful I asked Him to guide me today. God is Good!

Tonight was the kick off for our Global Missions Exhibits at Bethel. I have to say the Regions put together by the different ministerial departments at our church are very talented. I couldn't get over how amazing everything looked. Each Region did such an outstanding job bringing the countries to life. If you live in the area I would highly recommend you attend our Global Missions Sunday service. The service starts at 12pm and we will have a special speaker, Bro. Bruce Howell. Once the services has ended, the exhibit hall will be opened. Each station has ethnic food samples and information about things that are going on in the countries. Tonight we had a special guest. Sis. White is a missionary to Jordan and she set up a table all about the country and what God is doing there. We are excited for her and have no doubt that great things are happening through her. Her love for the country is very evident in all she says and does. We are honored to have her in our home. I encourage you, to attend if you can this coming Sunday April the 7th 2013,you will be in for a real treat. God is Good! For some reason all day today the story in the Bible about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego has been going through my mind. These three men were in a strange land and yet they did not stop "standing out" for God. When everyone bowed down and gave in to the pressure, these men continued to stand. When they were being thrown into the fire for putting God first, they were still just the three of them. The Bible tells us that in the fire, they were not alone, God walked with them. Not only did they come out of the fire alive, but not one piece of their clothing was singed. I kept thinking about them in the fire. These men were walking in the fire, walking with God. Sometimes in our life, we may feel we are walking through a firey situation. Who is walking with you in this fire? Is God with you? If He is, even though the fire in all around you, the fire won't harm you and you will be delivered. God is Good!

Tonight in our care group the lesson was about the name of Jesus. At the end of the lesson a question was asked regarding this scripture: Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. We were asked to say which of these descriptions stood out to us the most. Everyone gave their answers and it was edifying to hear everyone's personal testimony on how He is in their life. When you think about it, He is all of these things to us..we have moments when one stands out more to us at that moment. I'm so thankful to know Jesus and have Him in my life. To many, Jesus is a myth or some far distant idea. For myself, He is my everything. God is Good!

Today was RJ's last day of Spring Break. He asked if he could go to the Aviation Museum, so we went and he had a great time looking at all the airplanes and playing in the hands on room. For dinner we went to his favorite restaurant in Flushing, NY and we watched him eat a lot of fish ball soup otherwise known as Cambodian Soup. When Bob and I were done eating, RJ was still eating and enjoying every bite. One of the perks of living in NY and so close to "the city" is that we are able to expose our son to true ethnic experiences. Tonight RJ wanted me to cuddle with him until he fell asleep. As he was falling asleep, he says to me: " Mom..I know why you like Chinese food and people so much, it's because really inside you are Chinese....so I guess that's why I like their food so much." I gave him a big hug and told him he was right and he fell asleep. Taiwan will always hold a very special place in my heart. I have had a love for the Chinese since I was a little child..I guess that will always stay with me. The whole world is a mission field and NY has the whole world in it,Chinese/Taiwanese people included. God is Good!
