Blue Moon

Tonight Bob and I went for a walk on the beach and were surprised to see such a lovely moon. We didn't know until later we had just seen the "blue moon". It's been a while since we have had alone time and decided a romantic walk on the beach was exactly what we needed. I love our walks on the beach. I like to imagine Jesus is walking with us, we are surrounded by His majestic creation. The moon truly was mesmerizing and it made the night all the more special.

Tonight Bro. Ralph taught the Thursday night lesson. He talked about going into a place of "the Holy of Holies" with the Lord. We are the Bride of Christ and He wants us to know Him on a deeper level. There is more to being saved. We can stay as a servant and never know the depth of Christ. When you are married to someone you open yourself to them and allow them to see the deepest parts of you. With God, He desires to know us in depth and to go beyond just being a servant, but truly wants to be the lover of your soul.

Fireworks,Rainbow Cake & Hugs

Our trip on Monday to Disneyland turned out to be such a beautiful day. It was so much fun to see the park/rides through RJ and Tally's eyes. We had a wonderful time with family and friends. The day just kept getting better because people kept joining us. By the end of the day Sis. Ginny, Michelle and her kids had joined us (Mom, Tara, Kala, Samson and Tally were already with us )and I can't forget the surprise of seeing my best friend there too! RJ was able to go on all the rides he wanted to go and and the night ended perfectly with fireworks. The following day Kala made the most awesome rainbow cupcakes I have ever seen and tasted. We hugged everyone goodbye and flew home to NY. When we arrived and saw Bob, RJ ran to his dad's outstretched arms. We truly had a wonderful time and it was very hard to say goodbye. I'm thankful for my husband..the three of us are family and I am so blessed it's a happy family.

Sunday Moon

This morning RJ and I attended the 11 am service at International Pentecostal Church located in Bellflower,Ca. It was nice to see familiar faces and to share a part of my childhood with my son. The focus was on how God can change your life. I think the best part for me was hearing Serena sing during the alter call..her voice was so pretty and I could remember babysitting her when she was just a tiny little girl. It did my heart good to see how well she is doing. When the service was over we went to the Downey Space Museum. RJ loves to learn about planets and he had a nice time with this cousin Tally. Since we are still on NY time and plan on going to Disneyland tomorrow,I had him go to bed early. We are looking forward to a fun time and he is very excited about it. Tuesday we will go back home. It has been a wonderful summer and I'm glad we ended it with time in California. Tonight as he was falling asleep he says to me: "Well Mom, I am going to love you forever, but when I grow up, I'm going to have to leave you. So..when I grow up I want you to buy me this ( my mom/dad house) house, so I can live in it." He has been having a wonderful time and I know he will be very sad to leave. God is Good!

Today we took family pictures at Seal Beach. I'm sure they are going to come out great because we had a blast taking them.  It was super special for me since it's the beach I always went to growing up.  It was wonderful to share part of my childhood with my son. We both miss Bob a lot and look forward to being with him soon. Tomorrow we will attend the church I grew up in. Looking forward to praising my Jesus and also seeing familiar faces.

Laughter filled memories

The past couple of days have been filled with a lot of fun and our time here is going by quickly.  On Tuesday we spent the day with my cousin Penny, who I have not seen in over 10 years. It was so  wonderful to reconnect again. Wednesday we took RJ and his cousin Tally all over the place And they had a blast just being kids. The night ended with a girls night. Tara, Kala, Michelle and I went to dinner. We laughed a good for my soul. Yesterday was precious time spent with my best friend.  An hour with her is worth it's weight in gold. No matter where life takes us we have a deep bond that can't be broken.  Today will be another wonderful  day. It's been great watching RJ with my family.  We miss Bob a lot and I look forward to being in his arms again.

California Dreaming

RJ and I are in California for the week. Already he is having the time of his life and enjoying the love being showered on him....and of course he's having a blast playing with his cousin Tally. We have a packed week ahead of us, and I am sure there will be lots of laughter while we are here. Tomorrow, my cousin Penny who I have not seen in years will be hanging out with us. I am so excited, I can't wait to give her a big hug. I'm so thankful for time with my family. God is Good!

Red Hot Passion

Today's sermon preached by Pastor Davis was so intense that you could feel the electricity in the air while he preached. His sermon was based on being on fire for God. He was reminding us to make sure God was our first love, not second or third place in our lives. If we are full of love for our God and His spirit is alive and burning within us, we are a light to those around us. It was such a good sermon, a needed reminder to keep Him the center of our lives and to keep it hot. When the service ended 5 people were baptised in Jesus name and 3 were filled with the Holy Spirit. It was one of the longest alter calls I think I have been in...people were still clapping when he dismissed and said we could go home. I can see it and feel it..Bethel has always loved to worship, but today something changed...a red hot passion for Christ and a move of His spirit was birthed in us. I believe that lives are going to be transformed. We are going to see the sick healed, the lame walk, the blind will see. Great things are coming and great things are here. Bethel United Pentecostal Church is the place to be!

Wedding On A Rooftop

Tonight we had the privilege of attending the marriage of Jaleese Ramirez and Andrew Simpson. It was simple and so very elegant at the same time. I have never attended a Rooftop Wedding before. We were in the heart of the city and you could see a magnificent skyline behind the bride and groom as they said their vows. It was very classy and very much like the Bride and Groom. The reception was in the same building with another amazing view of the city skyline. Of course Jaleese was a radiant and beautiful bride and her groom was just as handsome.
The best part was the love and harmony that you could feel among everyone. God's joy, love and peace was intertwined from beginning to end. We are thrilled for them and believe great things are in store for their lives together.
On a side note, I was super happy to see Bro and Sis Wilmoth from California, they pastor the church Andrew attended in California. It was so nice to see them and I enjoyed hearing him give solid and sound advice to the new couple as he presided over their wedding.

I love weddings, they bring back happy memories of my own and always cause my love for Bob to grow deeper.

Get In The Mud

Tonight we read about when Elisha told Namen to go dip in the mud 7 times. RJ kept shaking his head no that he shouldn't go dip in the mud. His reaction was like all of want me to do what? Sometimes God will test us to see if we are willing to fully trust in Him. It's so easy when things are going great, but when everything starts to fall apart are you still going to trust the path He is leading you on? Sometimes, when it doesn't make sense, I'll be honest and say now and He has to drag me to it, but I realize that He is working something out for the good and I submit and jump into the mud. Guess what....when that happens things get better.
So...will you get in the mud?

Lesson on Truth

Tonight Bro. Tom Vayna taught a very good lesson on Truth. We live in a world that tends to shy away from absolute truth's and likes to cover things with "white" lies. According to the Bible a lie is a lie. A liar is lumped up with all the other "big" God's eyes, sin is sin and sin will take you to hell. It was a simple lesson, but pretty straight forward.
I'm not perfect and as a parent it's tempting to give a "white" lie to my child just so the questions will stop or so I don't have to keep correcting him when he makes up his own explanation for something. We are trying very hard to teach him truth and that you should not lie. Telling the truth is not easy at times, but even when it hurts, in the long run, things are better for it.
I'm not perfect, Lord help me to speak truth.

Happy Rain

Today it poured sheets of rain and hailstones. RJ was super excited about seeing the hail, but then started to lament because he didn't want it to keep him from having a much wanted playdate with his best friend Louis. Thankfully, the sun came back out and he was able to keep the playdate. We enjoyed the Pirate and Dinosaur show they put on for us. I love how they are still the best of friends. I hope and pray their friendship continues and grows. I enjoyed my "playdate" with Louis' mommy too and of course we can't forget their newest addition, Antonio..such a fun one to cuddle with.

For Someone Poor

This weekend one of the conversations between Bob and RJ were about being poor. RJ thought he was poor because he had no money in his wallet. Of course Bob explained to him what poor really was and he realized that he may not be rich, but he is not poor. He has a roof over his head, food on the table, parents who love him and most of all he knows Jesus! we gave him some money and told him he could put it in his wallet. He looked at it and said : " because I want to give it to someone who is poor."
Talk about instant tears streaming down my face.

Daddy Weekend

This weekend Bob and RJ went to NJ and had a Daddy Weekend. I must say I enjoyed the peace and quiet for a day, but it became too quiet. I missed my son's hugs and my husband's kisses. I got a lot of cleaning done and caught up on some much needed sleep. The best part of all this was the bonding that took place between Bob and RJ. Sometimes, Mommy needs to step away from the picture. While they were away, RJ asked Bob to teach him how to pray. They woke up before the sun had risen and took a prayer walk through the woods. Precious things were instilled between a father and a son.
There was lots of fun too, they went to the lake, ocean, camped in the woods and took a ferry ride. RJ needs time with his dad,Bob needs time with his son.
I challenge every father to make time for your children. If you have more than one, give each of them special time with just you. When they are older, you will be glad you did.
In my heart I truly believe that this weekend formed a bond and set a foundation in our son. My prayer is that they will always be close and when the rough teen years come, he will know he can go to his dad and he will listen.

Heads or Tails?

Today Bro. Jonathan Walker preached an very good sermon. His title was "Put The Coin Back In Your Pocket." I have to say before I go into detail, I loved it that he demystified the new pews by standing on them..thank you. It's taking us longer than expected to adjust to the new and much larger church. I think he helped us loosen up a bit more. Now back to his awesome sermon. His main scriptures were : Isiah 45: 18-23 He told us about how when he was a boy his dad, when playing sports, would bring out a coin to flip. He would say. " Heads I win, Tails you lose." If you read that carefully, you see that no matter what Jonathan picked, he was going to lose and it was very clever of his Father to set him up in that way. No matter what side the coin flipped, his dad was going to win the toss. I think you can see where he was going with this. God is the beginning and the end. He has all power and with God things don't happen by luck or chance. He has a way of orchestrating our lives and it's up to us if we follow Him. If we have God fully in our lives, then no matter the obstacle, when we put God first, we win, God wins! Who do you trust your future to? If you put your future in the hands of God, no matter what happens, Greater is He that is in You...God wins!
God's power and light is greater than any darkness that comes your way. At the mention of His name, the darkness must flee.

He ended with Ezekiel 36:26-27 : A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

When you have God's heart inside of you, you don't need to toss a coin and leave your life to chance. Your life is in the Master's hands. His hands are nail scarred and His blood covers you. You need not fear when God is with you. Walk in boldness, allow God to be a light inside of you. Radiate Jesus everywhere you go, when He shines, darkness leaves.

Today I had the thrill of a wonderful lunch with a dear friend. We moved out here to NY together and since I have gotten married have not been able to spend much time with her. I realize I need to make time because she truly is a dear friend and I enjoy our times together. New York has a way of consuming your time and energy. What may be a short distance to travel in NY feels like miles and miles..add to that a husband and kid and well...I think you get the drift. However, I am resolved, with much effort to make time for her. Today was so nice and I look forward to more lunches or coffee or whatever with her.
Make time for people you care about, you are not always promised to have them around.
Tomorrow is going to church, love praising the King of Kings and Lord of Lords with the family of God.

By Faith and Not By Sight

I was thinking today about walking by faith and not by sight. It's an easy thing to say, but not such an easy thing to do. To have full trust in God is to believe that no matter the circumstances surrounding you, believing that God is with you and all will work for the good. When Stephen learned the news of his mother needing to return to the States for a much needed operation, he was not fazed. He told me he was not worried because he knew nothing was impossible for God. He was walking by faith and not by sight. My husband has great faith like that. He is constantly pushing and walking in the direction that God has called him. I admire and respect him for it. I have been in church my whole life and I learned from my mom to make a faith list and cross things off as they happen...yet I am experiencing it in a greater length. Do I truly believe that God will gives us another child even though the doctors have told us it may never happen again..I must search my soul out and I choose to say that yes God can. I can not see Him, yet I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that He is real. If I can believe such things, then I must believe that He can do anything, for with Him nothing is impossible. I will walk by faith and not be sight. Nothing is impossible for God.

Youth and Columbia

Tonight the Ohio All State Youth Choir held a concert at our church. RJ was pretty excited because in his little four year old mind it was the "Big Church from Ohio." What he is referring to was a youth conference that took place in Ohio that I think left a forever impact on him. So in his mind it was going to be the "same thing" only at his church. He was so excited he could hardly sit still and when they sang he was sort of in to it and then he started to get sleepy, when all of a sudden they started to sing "the song" that was the theme song of the youth conference. My boy jumped to his feet got in the middle of the aisle and shouted, danced and sang his heart out. They sang "We Are The Free" and he gave it his all. I was thrilled to see him so happy and with it. In between the singing there was a break and A Missionary to Columbia gave a presentation about the church in Columbia. RJ was quite upset when he heard about all the Orphans...he has such a heart for them.
Not long after RJ fell asleep and the choir came back to sing. I was impressed to see so many young people singing their hearts out for the Lord. In this day and age, the pressure is great to not be a Christian and live a life according to God's word. I may never see these "kids" again, but I want to say how proud of them I am . To every young person who chooses to follow Christ, I tell you, no matter what..don't give up, keep Christ the center of your life.
You don't need to be the next American Idol of winner of The Voice, being the apple of God's eye is worth it all.

Today was a rough day for RJ. He was super tired and thus I heard his four year old lamentation over Stephen leaving and his daddy going on a business trip. Thankfully he took a four hour nap, yep he was tired. I took a nap too.
It's always hard the day someone leaves and then you get back into a routine and the goodbyes are a bit easier.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this summer and know great things are in store for RJ when school comes around.
Tomorrow night we are in for a treat. The Ohio State Youth Choir will be singing. If you are in the area and would like to join us, please stop by Bethel United Pentecostal Church at
357 Jericho Turnpike, Old Westbury, NY at 7:45pm. You won't regret it!

We had a wonderful time with Stephen and are sad he is leaving tomorrow. RJ is doubly upset because Bob is going out of town tomorrow too. I'll think of something happy for him to do to help him not be so sad..well help me not be so sad too. Some people come into your lives and when they leave it's like there is a big hole in your home. I think the house is going to feel very empty after Stephen leaves. I am sure his mom and dad will be happy to have him with them again. Please keep them in your prayers as they deal with the doctors and the operation that is needed to remove Sis. Corbin's Tumor.
Thankfully Bob will only be gone one day. Saying goodbye is always hard.
So far this Summer has been wonderful and filled with many happy memories. There are more to come.

Ocean Bliss

Today we decided to take Stephen for a day at the Ocean. I wasn't sure how it would go over since RJ in past times has had issues with the waves. The last time we went to the Ocean, he seemed to overcome his fear, so I figured we would give it a shot. It was such a wonderful day! RJ was so brave and I had a blast jumping in the waves with my boy. I grew up going to the beach and it's one of those places that helps me truly relax. I could never share it with RJ because he was always terrified of it. Today that all changed, truly it was a time of bliss. I look forward to going as often as I can before the summer is over.

Just on the side..God know exactly what you need, when you need it. He is never late, always on time. When He shuts a door, lift up your hands in praise..He has something wonderful in store for you. HOLD ON!

Where Are You Looking?

Today was Missions Sunday at church and we had two of our young people who went on an Apostolic Youth Core trip this Summer speak. We also had Stephen talk about Bangladesh. They all did a great job and we are super proud of them for being willing to minister to others in a different country.

Today Pastor Davis preached an awesome sermon titled: "Look Where You Are Going Because You Will Go Where You Are Looking" What are you looking at? What are you focusing your life on? Whatever takes most of your attention is the direction you are headed for.
Are your eyes on the Lord and the things of God? What are you goals in life? Do you always see the negative in things or do you focus on the positive?
I'm not perfect and there are times when all I can see is the "stuff" that is surrounding me. Today was a good reminder to keep my eyes focused on the promises of God and to not let the "stuff" overwhelm me. Life happens, but God can and will carry you through it all if you will keep your eyes on Him.

I want Jesus to be the focus of my life. If I get wrapped up in myself, how can I be sensitive to someone around me who may be hurting? If I am not keeping my eyes on Him, how can I know when He is with me and guiding me.

Jesus, I want you to be the breath I breathe, my life, my goals and my dreams.

A Ship, Candyland and a Ticket

Today we took Stephen into NY City to see the Space Shuttle on the USS Intrepid. The boys (Bob, RJ and Stephen) had a lot of fun exploring the ship. We were able to see the Enterprise, but were a bit disappointed because we were only able to look at it, but not go inside...I don't understand why they would have it right there in front of us and we can't touch it or truly experience it. From there we went to Times Square and of course went to Candy land located in Toys R Us, we love to go there and get our favorite candies! While crossing the bridge on our way home, we were awarded with a magnificent view of the city with all the sparkling lights. We had a wonderful day.

I want to thank all of you for praying for Stephen's parents, they were able to secure tickets to fly out of Bangladesh and come to the states. We are anticipating good news and a quick recovery after her surgery.

Boat Ride

Today we were invited to join our friends Paul and Cathy for a day on their boat. Rj was pretty excited to be going on his first real boat ride. Things were going great until the engine slowed down, so we went back to the dock. Barnacles were clogging something on the boat. We turned lemons into lemonade and parked it in the water and enjoyed the breeze.  Bob and RJ went on the kayak. It was such a relaxing day. Stephen went on the kayak too. We may not have made it to Connecticut, but we had a great time anyways!

A Good Beating

Tonight in church Bro. Ralph taught a pretty good lesson. I missed the first part because I was convincing RJ to go to Thursday night class for the kids. By the time, RJ was unglued from my hip, I came in during the middle of the lesson. I have to be honest and say it took me about 10 minutes to get my thoughts back into the service, my mind was still in the classroom with RJ. However, Bro. Ralph said something that really stood out to me. He talked about having intimacy with God. How God wants you to let Him "in to see me". Letting God in to truly see all of you, the things you don't let anyone else see. Wow...we all have our walls, we all have our little things that we keep hidden from others, but if we would just trust God enough to let Him in, we will know Him much better. He wants to be close to us, we just need to open all the doors of our heart and let Him fully in.

While we were in the car I asked RJ how the class went and here is the conversation that followed:
RJ: " I don't want to ever go to Sunday School ever again."
Me: "Why?"
RJ: "They gave me a good beating and then played mean tricks on me."
Me: (trying very hard not to laugh because I know he is being drama) " Give me an example"
RJ: Silence....." Well....they talked about stuff."
Me: " What stuff, I'm listening to everything you are saying."
RJ : " Well, they talked about God."
Me: "How is it bad to talk about God?"
RJ: " Well, because I ALREADY know ALL about God."

I need to make sure I give those poor teachers a hug when I see them..Lord help us and them!

Say a Prayer

Today we took Stephen to Barnes and Noble since he likes books and also to the Guitar Center, he had never been to one and I think he enjoyed himself.
It has been raining on an off, so we have not done much outside. Hopefully tomorrow the weather will be better and I can take him to the Ocean.

We received news that Sister Liz Corbin (Stephen's mom) has a tumor like growth in her neck and it needs to be removed ASAP. Thankfully it's not cancerous. If you a praying person I ask that you say a prayer for her especially for two things. 1. They are trying to get a flight out of Bangladesh to the USA in order to have the operation done, when we talked this morning, all flights were booked. 2. Pray that when she does have the operation, all goes well and she has a speedy recovery so they can return to Bangladesh.
In the meantime, Stephen will stay with us. We thank you in advance for your prayers.
